The chainsaw arrived slightly damaged due to FedEx handling, but the seller was fantastic. They quickly responded, requested photos, and issued a refund for the damaged guide bar, even providing a link to purchase the replacement. Their daily follow-up was excellent, and now the chainsaw works perfectly! I’m thrilled with both the purchase and its performance. It’s making cutting firewood for the season much faster and easier. Highly recommend!

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE REVIEW!!! ORIGINAL POST: I followed the assembly instructions with ease. I go to start it up for the first time and notice a spot of oil on my driveway when I turned it off. I thought that maybe it's just a "break in" type of thing. So I take it up to my property (the reason for buying it) and the photos are from two different trips. I have to rest it on a T-shirt bag (like stores use) just to collect any oil that comes from it. I'm trying to return it and that is a joke! This is a 3rd party seller, so returns or refunds have to go through them. Shy of that, it works like a chainsaw. UPDATED POST: Like with many of us, we buy something on Amazon and trust that we got a good deal, a deal we could not get locally. So after reading the mixed reviews on this one, I gave it a try. So after all the joy(sarcasm) I had initially with the chainsaw leaking oil, and because this item is not returnable, this company did their best to provide me with photos of where I could make adjustments to eliminate that oil leak. This is above and beyond what their owner's manual provides. I'm guessing that's because the adjustment was probably something the consumer should not need to worry about. By the time I received their response with those instructions there was no more oil in it, or enough to create that drip. As a result, these guys simply chose to send me another one. The replacement is working as designed. It tells me that for whatever reason the first one had issues that were never caught before it was shipped. Now I can say that this is working nicely. This is the lowest price I've ever seen for a chainsaw and the 2nd time around these guys got it right!! So my take-a-way is... anyone can make a good product the 1st time. How a company handles things when their product doesn't perform as expected.... that really is the make or break with a company. This is no different than going out to eat. A bad server can still do a good job when everything with your meal goes as planned. How your server handles things when things don't go as planned.... that helps you see a great server shine!!! ... While I've never heard of this company until this purchase, they handled my complaint like a great server!!... For that reason I've chosen to update my post. I could have deleted the first part and gave you the same "great product" type of review others post. I chose to give you a real and honest review. This is why I give these guys an "upgrade" from my original 1 star review to a 4 star review. Thank you BILT for your great customer service!!

Used it twice-- Decent chain saw although it "drinks gasoline"--which would not be a huge problem; but once you to stop it to refuel-- it doesn't want restart! It doesn't start even when warm/hot-- You have to go through the "cold start" process and then it doesn't stay started, if it "kicks on" at all. Wait a long while-- I did overnight-- and got it started again, only for it to "not start again" when I stopped to refuel-- very annoying and unproductive! Otherwise I like it-- it is HEAVY but cuts well-- a little under powered going through OAK trunk a couple inches wider than the bar-- but really not an issue-- oilier works well -- about 3/4 empty when refuel was needed-- Would give it 5 stars if it reliably started! Update: Have had saw for 1 1/2 months now and have used it 5 times-- each time the "starting gets easier" and will restart now after a fuel refill. Saw still "drinks gas" but it works well-- am more impressed with it the more I use it. I still believe it is a bit "under powered" for tree diameters a little larger than the bar length-- If I were buy another saw I would buy this brand- but in their 22" (56cc engine vs this 46cc engine) size--

I read the product details quickly and picked what I needed to see. I got the idea of a gas chainsaw from the man that I hired to cut all the hazardous branches effected from the icy rain a few weeks ago. The machine that he had is in a high price. I found BILT HARD with good reviews. SO I started the buying process. Now that I opened the box, I realized that I would not be able to hold it for 2 hours on and off. Sometimes THE WEIGHT DOES NOT REPRESENT HOW IT FEELS IN the hands. I love this seller because they a rational and generous they handle my case professionally. I could not operate this machine yet or will I ever what the fact that I am impressed with the idea of the product and the seller, I will look up another chainsaw that is more suitable for me.

Outstanding replacement for my older chain saw (still runs well). but I got this one with 2" longer bar and more horsepower to cut wider limbs with using the same 2 cycle engine's gas ratio, and oil. It reminds me of my smaller older one with the 16" bar, and quality--BUT even Better! And it's made in America!
