This is my fifth pizza oven in the past ten years. My first was a propane fired front loading table top oven that only had the heating element under the stone. The bottom crust was always overcooked and it was impossible to get a decent “char” on the crust. Second oven was an Ooni Koda. $500.00! I thought it would solve my pizza issues. Nope. Consistently the top of the pizza was burned before the bottom was done. Gave it away. After that I had two Pisano clamshell electric ovens which ended up just being too small. This oven provided the most even cooking of all of them. It can cook a 12” pizza with ease. I set the top element for 660 and the bottom for 680 and in three minutes the pizza was done PERFECTLY! Of course I turned it once 1:30 minutes in, but the cruise was perfectly cooked and the cheese wasn’t overcooked like with the Pisano. I place it on a Daily Burn workout box on my stove so the stove vent will vent the heat and smells as needed. Very satisfied! ... show more

I have wanted a decent pizza oven for some time and spent a lot of time comparing various options from some at about $140 to $800. This was in the $230 range and I originally set it up outside to heat to the maximum and burn off any residue from manufacturing. Several days later I used it to make about 4 Neopolitan pizzas at 800°. Worked great and delivered a wonderful crust for a 12-13” pizza and did it in about 2-3 minutes. The top gets warm but not sizzling hot and once I turned it off the exterior cooled off fairly quickly. I like the design that allows it to be stored on the side and the overall weight is quite manageable and portable. Using the front cover is supposed to allow a pizza to fully cook without rotating the pizza but I’ve found that a quick 120-180 degree turn gave a more even bake. I’m looking forward to using this pretty regularly. For a low to mid range oven, it generates excellent heat and was easy to assemble out of the box. ... show more

I think overall this is a great pizza oven. I purchased it as a gift for our son and then we went over to visit and we all made pizza. It's a great indoor option and can make a pizza in just a few minutes. The only issue I had is that the door on the front falls off.

Let me start by saying, I am a pro-level hobbyist of pizza making. Born and raised in Italy, when I moved to the USA I immediately understood I needed to own a pizza oven, or I would perish. I build my first 14" backyard oven by hand, waiting for the Roccbox to be invented. I have been skeptical of the progression "wood, propane, electric", but you can get really amazing results with either of those fuels. When you unpack Big Horn, you're immediately ready to go! This oven has three outstanding features which brings it into the "winning league": 1. Electronic control of temperature - which is much more accurate and consistent than analog; 2. Separate temperature control between top and bottom; 3. Generous 14" chamber! To be really honest, this thing is so functional and easy to use, I have not taken out my propane Roccbox in a while. Surely, to watch a big flame is an ancestral pleasure and it's mesmerizing (even better if you're burning wood) - however this oven is a set-and-forget affair: you do not need to worry about the open flame burning one side of the pizza. You do want to rotate while cooking, but if you don't, the difference is minimal. I love this oven, I am happy I can use it indoor during the three-day-winter of San Diego, and it's also ultra transportable! once you remove and secure the cooking stone, it weights nothing. Besides having low thermal mass and basically no insulation, it's capable of maintaining high temperatures. We tested this with 20 balls during Friendsgiving: Flawless delivery. Another note about the stone: the one provided seems good, the railing that holds the stone is capable of receiving the very thick and famously awesome "biscotto" - a fairly expensive but life changing pizza stone normally found inside ≥1500$ ovens. Super easy to set up, just remove all the packing, put the stone in and plug in. It is technically a counter top unit but it puts out a lot of heat so I set up a table on the sun porch so it doesn’t destroy the efforts of our AC. The back of the pizza cooks more (probably due to cooling when you open the door) so it seems to be best to open and turn the pizza halfway. Nice pizza oven. Fits neatly on the counter under a cabinet and does not radiate too much heat. It does take about 15-20 to reach temp, but well worth the wait.

When I first used this oven, I thought this was the best thing since sliced bread. However, after about 30 pizzas, the pizza stone cracked because of a manufacturing defect. There is absolutely no warranty on this oven if it is sold through Amazon and not purchased directly from Big Horn’s website. Be fore-warned. On the other hand, it appears Amazon is going to give me a complete refund. This company is Chinese, and yet again, Chinese garbage is being sold on Amazon. The Chinese have a lot to learn about doing business in the United States. Enjoy your oven while it works, or if it works, because there is absolutely no backing by the company. Being a pizza hore, I want my own pizza oven. I did a lot of consideration and research into whether I wanted indoor/outdoor, three season porch capable, or totally indoor. Living in Minnesota, I didn’t want to have to screw with any cold weather in the winter, so I bought this indoor electric oven. High temperature was a requirement, I want as hard as possible. This oven turned, turned out to be the best suited, and also one of the most inexpensive. Using this thing is easy enough, but I would suggest saving money by getting the next level down without the automatic preset times. They’re basically useless. Once you get to know the oven, you can mannually set any temperature for any amount of time you want. Overall, I’m impressed with the build quality. I figured it’d be a cheap Chinese piece of junk, but although made in China, it is well-made. I will say that I recommended the same oven to my niece, who, unfortunately, got one dead out of the box. It took her several weeks to get a replacement shipped to her. She was very frustrated. Although, I will admit it was during the slack time between Christmas and New Year’s, and the company was probably overwhelmed with returns and calls for service. If I recall, I ran into several reviews that mentioned a lack of customer service on behalf of the company. Overall, I recommended this oven, and it has made us quite a few good pizzas. ... show more
