  • Third-party feel, but works
The feel of the plastic in the hands makes me curious what the genuine Canon one is like. But I'm not gonna pay those prices to find out, as this is not an everyday accessory for me. The base is a little warped when you set it on a table. But all the extended controls work, including the joystick. And the USB charging works. The grip is a good fit for large hands. The original battery door fits where it should for storage. Works with one or two LP-E6 batteries. (This is not a AA adapter like the old days.) ... show more

  • weak, cheap clamps
I had used another battery grip on another canon and then used this one and its much lighter and more fragile. I had to push the batteries a few times to get them to clamp - unlike the other grip that clamped immediately. I guess you get what you pay for.

  • Double the Power, Double the Control.
The BG-R10 Battery Grip has been fantastic for my Canon EOS R6. The grip provides a perfect balance, making it easier to hold the camera steady during long shoots, especially in outdoor settings. I'm impressed with its extended battery life, with the ability to hold two battery packs. This is particularly handy for those long outdoor sessions where recharging isn't an option. The ergonomic design and the conveniently placed shutter release button make switching between horizontal and vertical shots easy. Highly recommended for photographers who need that extra stability and extended shooting time. Recommended! ... show more

  • Fine but doesn't match the tactile feel of the Canon version
For $100 I imagine many people would be very happy with this. First off, I'll start with installation. You need to remove the prong caps on both the main arm (that goes inside your camera) and the communications pins (stubby bit at the base of the main arm). You also then need to add one or two batteries to the battery tray, which slides out the side of the battery grip. This is a little tricky, but make sure to angle the batteries properly and align with the clips. I verified the camera works with just one battery in the tray. My Arca plate works fine on the bottom of the grip. The addition of a hand strap loop is excellent and refreshing to see. I noticed that while the rubber grip on this vertical grip is very good and generally matches Canon's feel, the plastic bits are not very good. The battery tray feels a bit flimsy. The shutter press is a "hard" press instead of a soft half-press and soft full-press on the Canon R6 Mark II. Next, the buttons are all a more crunchy/clicky feel than the camera's own buttons, which have a softer press. The thumb wheels are also a bit more clicky and inferior feeling to the camera body's own wheels. As for the actual use? It works fine. It's comfortable in the hands. It balances out heavier lenses. It's *fine*. Is it more than 28% better than the Canon version? You betcha! It's probably 80% of the way there, but for only 28% of the price. If that suits your wallet, I'd recommend it. ... show more
