I have owned this retractable bed cover now for about six months and I wanted to get some use in to confirm my initial positive opinion after installation. It looks great, the build quality is every bit as good as an equivalent American made product- the durability, functionality, and design are all excellent and I can’t think of any way it could be improved upon. I just installed a set of T-slot ladder racks on my cover and they installed easily and are rock solid, so the t-slot feature of this cover is legit and makes this cover even better. The way the cover secures to my F150 factory boxlink system mounts while still allowing use of the boxlink attachment points is really smart and well designed. I’ve had no obvious leaks and the drainage system is well thought out and implemented in a way that doesn’t get in the way. The way the cover unlatches and locks via a pull strap has worked well and has functioned flawlessly and I use it on a nearly daily basis. I can think of no negatives of this cover other than the weight, which is to expected based on its design and build quality. There’s just no way it could be lightweight and still have the durability and functionality. The only other downside is the portion that encloses the rolled up bed cover decreases the amount of total storage area in the bed, but it my case its worth the small sacrifice. I rarely leave Amazon reviews but this is one of my favorite Amazon purchases ever. The retractable tonneau is nice. The instructions were good and the video is helpful. The quality and appearance is good and the value for the money is good. Durability seams good also. I'm not sure what the surface is made of but I'm using 303 to protect it from the sun. Rolls back without any binding and I like that it uses the trucks bed mounts. Had to buy the tie downs. There are kits on Amazon that come with the bolts and tap. It's mounted on a f150 super crew 2024. There is some water leakage at the tailgate after washing by hand with more happening under high pressure wash but the rest stayed dry. ... show more

This cover works really good. Like the locking points and operation is smooth and retracts well. Very secure as it bolts to the sides and in a track. The installation is much more difficult than previous covers I have installed but once you get through that you'll have a good cover.

Cons: You have to watch the video 49 times during install. Parts were not labeled. Pros: I was easily able to install this by myself. i love the fact that it uses the 4 anchor points built into the truck for attachment. It makes for a clean well thought out design. The drains are also well designed. This is my third time buying a unit and Bestwyll definitely spent all of there budget on the design of this cover and had nothing left to pay Morgan Freeman to narration of the video. I like the fact that there is no key in order to unlock the cover you need to open the tailgate. No more worries if your stuff isafe in your truck bed. The unit also has dual T- slots on both sides for any additional devices you want to add in the future. This unit is far superior and far more thought out than any others in similar price range.They provide you seals and an extended flap in the front that contours to the shape of the box that prevents water intrusion. I washed my vehicle a few days later and didn’t see any water in the bed of the truck. I’m very pleased with this purchase. You can spend more money but you wont get a better product. ... show more

This review is for the Bestwyll Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover for a 2021 Ford F-150 5.5' Truck Bed. I don't write a lot of reviews, but for this I felt compelled to write a review. The product arrived a few days earlier than expected. Always prefer something to show up early rather than late. The box did show some wear from shipping, but that has been my experience with just about anything heavy that ships with Fed Ex or other box shippers. There was damage to the cannister that houses the retractable cover. However, that damage is on the part that goes against the front wall of the truck bed and doesn't have any effect on the function, it works perfectly well so I didn't bother trying to return. Everything else was in excellent condition, all of the important pieces were in good working order. As others have pointed out - the printed instructions are not exactly well done. Watch the install videos on Youtube (this is the case with most any install that is fairly involved). This should be a two person install, I was able to accomplish it by myself. NOTE - if you have a plastic bed liner and not a spray in bed liner, you WILL need to make some modifications for this install. This design uses the predrilled holes on either side of the bed that are used to install additional tie downs. The bedliner that came preinstalled in my truck did not have large enough openings for the holes, I used an oscillating tool to cut a larger opening around each. My biggest challenge on this install: when attaching the side rails to the cannister (basically this is step one) all instructions say to pull a few slats of the cover out of the cannister in order to install the side rails - be careful not to move them laterally as they easily slide out of position and getting them all back in line is difficult. Getting the rails correctly aligned was one of the more difficult parts of the process. I ended up taking about four hours and some change for the total install. Once everything was in and aligned, locking everything down was relatively easy, and the included alignment spacers made sure that the cover was correctly aligned. I am two full days in and I absolutely love this cover so far. The slide mechanism feels robust, it slides easily, no catches, no issues so far. I took it through the local car wash, and there was essentially no leakage from the cover itself. There was a little water right at the edge of the tailgate, but that could have come from underneath the tailgate where there's a gap. I bought this to replace a Bak X3 rolling hard cover (it lasted 4 years and the material on the cover deteriorated). With the old cover, there was no thought given to any kind of seal where the tailgate closed, I installed a weather strip on it to help seal the bed when the tailgate closed. This has a built in seal for the tailgate part of the bed, and it works great so far. ... show more
