This thing is awesome so far! I was looking for something that would provide the heat output and stability for proper wok cooking. This one does that, and it is portable, and it has adapters for four common fuel canisters. The price is reasonable for the quality, which looks good. Seems pretty durable. It arrived yesterday (a day early, I think) and I just tested it by making fried rice. My fried rice game just went from good to great. Finally enough wind resistant flame to get my vegetables almost charred on the outside and almost raw at the center the way I like them. The design of the flame ports seems to put the heat on the wok even in pretty high wind. I have it hooked to a 20 lb tank of propane because I am sure that at the output I am using it it will eat a lot of the smaller options, but the various fuel options will let me take my favorite part of my kitchen anywhere. It pairs perfectly with the Craft Wok 14 inch round bottom wok I have, which sits on it nicely without sliding and tipping towards the handle like it does on a narrower base. I wish there was a control knob on the unit itself, instead of at the other end of the long hose. It works as long as I arrange things so that I am not tempted to bend over the flame while lighting or adjusting the burner. The long hose is nice, but should be managed to prevent tripping over it or snagging it somehow. The piezo igniter works reliably so far and is a huge convenience. Worth every penny, so far. Don’t Buy!!! 1rst time use was a disaster, with the propane hose/valve supply, the fame dies out after a minute , so turning up increases the flame and then the line begins to freeze and flame goes low to off, the adjusting knob goes from low flame to EXTREMELY high with just a very slight turn, doesn’t stay on, constantly re lighting, a complete waste of money ... show more

When you unbox it, this is the most Mickey Mouse wok burner you could imagine… but it works…. quite well actually. I’m a stir fry enthusiast from Florida so I have a “proper” 40lb cast iron wok burner permanently set up in my backyard that took up an entire checked bag one flight home from Asia. This won’t replace that ‘cause it’s smaller and flimsier, but it’ll do most of the same work. It’s perfect for travel or occasional/seasonal use(parrents summer house in my case). It’s got plenty of heat to get real wok hei and it actually has better control on the low end than my big burner. I’m using a 12 or 13 inch wok which is about the max I’d go just for stability. Stir fry aside, this thing would be great for European dishes. Searing steaks, flambéing conic, reducing pan sauces, things that benefit from a serious gas range most of us don’t have in our kitchens. The 20lb adapter doesn’t work(same as my big Asian burner) cause it’s missing the US excess flow thing, but that’s fixable with another adapter for a few bucks. For occasional use 1lb cylinders are fine. For the price, I’m pretty darn impressed. ... show more

Burner is good, has plenty of power when attached to 1lb tanks. However the adapter for the 20lb propane tank does not fit a standard 20lb propane tank. It screws into the tank threads but does not engage the connection correctly. Bottom line is larger tank adapter does not work. Not even sure what kind of tank that adapter is supposed to work with. ... show more

It looked exactly like what I wanted, that wasn't the case. The tank adapter doesn't work on US tanks with the safety valve. I tried it with butane, and it did light, but emptied the can at a record pace. The piezo igniter works every five or so attempts. Return started.
