  • The best manpower Shovel Removal device I have ever used!
This is hands down the best manpower snow removal device I have ever used. The only device that could be considered better is the snow blower, but even then this device is simply better when the snowfall is less than 3 inches. The fact is you could clear your driveway faster with this push shovel, because it works as fast as you do. What about 12+ inches of snow? While it is physically impossible to manually plow through that much snow with a push shovel alone, you can still make use of the tool under heavy snowstorms. This device saved my back during the 34 inches I had during one storm. By simply clearing my driveway multiple times during the day, I could make this device do a ton of work, and it helped minimize the work I had to do with the standard shovel. If there is enough room to maneuver, you can still use this device to move snow from one place on the drive to another by simply moving it with the push shovel. Then the only thing you need to do is throw the snow with the shovel, and this saves time, energy, and strength even under the toughest of snow conditions. It also works like a breeze under the little snowstorms of 3 or fewer inches. The downside to this product is the assembly, which I did manage to do on my own for the most part, but I would recommend two people to do it. The difficulty of assembly cannot be overstated. I got this tool on the eve of the 34-inch storm I mentioned, and the assembly was painful. I felt awful afterwards and worried that I had burned myself out on the assembly before the storm. I thought to myself, this tool better be amazing... it was! The tool is fun to use. I had a blast just moving the snow from one part of the driveway to the other with relative ease. I could eventually plan my work by moving the snow to a place where I could easily throw it. If the snow is light enough, you can simply push the snow off the drive onto the lawn and be done right there, but with 34 inches, you will need to throw snow no matter what. The push shovel uses different muscles, so you can push snow for about 10 minutes and then throw snow for 5 minutes, giving some of your muscles a rest during the process, allowing me to spend over an hour removing snow comfortably on my own. It also works great with a team of 2, where one person pushes the snow to be thrown by another. It is hard to overstate how surprised I was that this shovel could be effective in a heavy snowstorm with planning and technique. The shovel's durability is higher than you might think at a glance. The aluminum shovel is thin and might degrade when pushed against concrete, but the bottom of the shovel is reinforced by a hard plastic piece attached to it. It does seem to prevent most situations in which the shovel would deform when you try to push too much snow or hit ice, but you still need to be careful not to push too hard. I did manage to deform the shovel a little, but it is still functional. I believe part of the low price comes from efficient use of metal. This device has as little metal as it needs to work, and durability is better than I expected, but it isn't foolproof. ... show more

  • Easy to Use and Quite Effective!
This snow pusher is easy to use and mostly effective in "drier" snow, but it will work in wet snow if the snow only an inch or so deep. If you like pushing the snow, then you could clear wet snow every so often as it falls. It is quite well built and comfortable to push, as you can adjust the handle length to suit you height. I found that you can push this plow quite fast when you have it set at an angle. My suggestion is to buy one for the next snow! ... show more

  • Works well, but know its limitations
I think this is a good product, and is a great supplement to a snow shovel--but not a replacement. I had done extensive research on hand plows of this type, so I knew these limitations going in. The short of it is--in the 3 to 5 inch range, this can be used to blow your entire driveway and any walkways, without needing to shovel unless you have a weird spot this can't fit into. You do have to know what you're dealing with, there's several YouTube videos I suggest consulting. There's a basic physics involved in this product, the more snow you are pushing, the more weight piles up in front of the plow, eventually unless you are the Incredible Hulk you will have plowed too big a mound to keep pushing. The way to avoid this is to one, realize above above 5 inches the snow is too deep for this product, secondly, you need to "plan your pushes", figure out where you want the snow's final destination to be and plan short to medium range pushes with the plow to get the snow there. For example instead of pushing the entire length of your driveway, instead push to the sides of your driveway, ideally splitting your drive way in two and pushing one side to one direction, the other side to the other. You can also use the adjustable angle of the blade to help with the direction of your pushes, it gets intuitive the more you work with it. You will also need to re-roll over already plowed areas to get everything. It sounds like a lot, but once you get out using it, as long as it's light to medium snow, this will save you time. This past 2 weeks, we had 16" of snow one day, which is too much for this plow. I had to shovel that. About a week later we had about 4", I used the plow for it and it cleared my driveway in a few minutes. Almost like it was setup for a test, that day my neighbor started shoveling with a traditional snow shovel right as I started using this--and we have similarly sized driveways. I was done and putting my plow up before he even had a third of his driveway shoveled. I think that's really the value of this product--where I live, we usually only get 3 to 5 inches of snow at a time, I'd say for 90% of my snow days this guy will cover my needs. The other day we had a historic storm and got 16" over night, that is beyond the abilities of this plow--for snow of that amount you have to hand shovel or bite the bullet and buy a powered snow blower. ... show more

  • Absolutely gets the job done!
I live in Michigan, where snow fall can range between something light (2 inches or less) to considerable (6-12 inches). This hand plow is the perfect tool that falls right in between not wanting to pull out your snowblower and not wanting to do any back-breaking shoveling. You're still going to get a workout, but you won't feel stiff and sore for the rest of the day. Pros: Pushing snow instead of shoveling does your back wonders. Allows you to remove snow much faster than conventional shoveling. Built well. Nice, adjustable handle. Cons: a bit heavy once fully assembled. It's a little hard to store in my tight garage, but I make it work. Assembly can be a bit frustrating (there's one step I completely ignored because I kept getting annoyed. It still seems to work well, though) ... show more

  • Quality Product, Highly Recommend
Pretty easy to put together with two people. I can see how it would be a challenge for one person but it could be done. Worked like a charm! Even helped with a layer of ice which I wasn’t expecting it to be able to budge. Arrived ahead of schedule. Quality product. Sturdy and well built components. I love the adjustable handle length. Highly recommend this product. ... show more
