I am brand new to crochet. I've been watching youtube videos to learn the most basic skills. One video (from someone in England I think) used a "tubular yarn". When practicing the basic skills, I really struggled with seeing where my hook was supposed to go regardless of the color of the yarn. Tubular yarn looked way easier to see the separate strands. So, with more investigating, I found the brand the youtuber used and bought it from Amazon (after unsuccessfully ordering it from a fabric store (they sent me a completely different product and while they reimbursed me, I could no longer get the yarn with free shipping). So, to Amazon I went). It was definitely a success for helping me see the different "slots"/stitches where I needed to insert my hook. Highly recommend for beginners! I tried making a hat with this and it just didn't work out. It wasn't stretchy enough, so I don't recommend it if you're making a hat lol. It's also not that soft but it's fine lol it worked. Bernat Maker Home Dec packages this yarn as a 5 Bulky, I do not agree. I think it is a 3 or a 4 at best. I find the fabric to be a T- shirt yarn that is thin and tubular. I have found several tie knots but I am not surprised. It is what I expect of T-shirt quality yarn. The price and the quantity is the reason I made a second purchase (in black). ... show more
