Description

The Benro Slim series has been expanded and now includes two new models that are the perfect travel tripod. Each has 5 sections and the reverse folding design reduces the folded size to only 12.9" (33cm). but don’t let its small size fool you, these tripods open to an impressive 57.1" (145cm) making them a practical solution for photographers who need to travel light but still need to travel with a tripod. There are two models of the Slim travel offering either Aluminum or carbon fiber construction. Aluminum gives strength but carbon fiber remains the ultimate material for lightness and stability. The Slim travel tripod legs are fitted with anodized Aluminum twist locks that only require a quick half turn to lock and unlock. A grooved center column prevents twisting when in use and can be reversed for low to the ground shots. Benro Slim travel features a lightweight shoulder, which has 3 leg positions and each leg can be positioned individually for uneven terrain. A weight hook is located underneath the center column for windy conditions and the rubber feet on the tripod are fixed. Staying level is made easy with a bubble level on the quick release clamp. Both versions of the Slim travel series use the compact N00 head. This removable Aluminum ball head has an oversized ratchet style single locking control knob for easy operation and a panoramic scale. The ball head includes a blue anodized Aluminum Arca-Swiss style quick release plate with a d-ring 1/4"-20 thread. A compact carry case is included.

  • A wonderful little tripod
Style: Aluminum
Small and light, it’s got some unusual and distinctive features. For example, when it’s folded up, you can unlock all four locking mechanism at once by grabbing them all with your fist. Then, you should lock them starting from the biggest one to the smallest one. When you unlock, you should start from the smallest to the biggest and then once it’s folded up you, can grab all four again and tighten them up all at once. Very handy! It’s a beautifully designed little thing, and it looks great with flashes of bright blue aluminum. No, it’s not nearly as sturdy as my Gitzo, but it’s not 3 feet long and 10 pounds either. I currently have it in Mexico and I’m looking forward to using it. Fit easily in a carry-on. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY THIS TRIPOD... Unless....
Style: Carbon Fiber
I am a professional photographer and recently ran into a situation where I had to pack really light and I couldn't take my Benro Travel Angel with me. While out of state and without a tripod I picked up this beauty. If this is your first tripod or you are new to using a tripod with photography don't buy it it's way too small. You won't be happy with it. Go get a full sized tripod (I highly recommend the Benro Travel Angel). If you use a tripod a lot like I do and you fly a lot (I still take my Travel Angel), hike, or have other restrictions where you need a tripod but need something small that is light this is it. For what it is I love this tripod. Will it be my first option... no, but in those situations where I need to go light it's amazing! ... show more

  • Not as portable as advertised
Style: Carbon Fiber
Great product, looks very professional but it is heavy to carry for travelers

  • Super light and compact. Fine for most needs
Style: Carbon Fiber
The feature set and versatility of this tripod are impressive. Its light weight and ability to stuff it in a large gear bag and hang it from a backup are very handy. It will do the job for any indoor shoot or outdoors on a calm day. However the rigidity of the thin legs, while good thanks to carbon fiber, is not adequate for windy situations. If you are shooting sports at fast shutter speeds, then this tripod will be fine. If you are doing architectural shots with a long depth of field and slow shutter speeds, then tripod vibration could be visible in your shot. I wouldn’t “shoot the moon” with this tripod but I will have it with me most of the time. ... show more

  • Ball head will drift
Style: Carbon Fiber
I guess you get what you pay for. Pro:This is a light compact travel tripod and will work in many situations just fine. Feels sturdy. I like the bag clasp. Cons: The biggest concern for me was the drifting of the ball head. I would think I had my shot lined up let go and it would drift. If you have a lighter camera with a short/pancake lens this may not be an issue. You could buy a separate ball head but the added expense might make you consider an alternative tripod especially considering. The height. This just was not as tall as I needed. The screw legs took much longer to adjust than I expected. The leg locks are… quirky. Wasn’t sure I ever got a good lock. I’ll keep it but I’ll be looking for an alternative. ... show more

  • This tripod fits my needs
Style: Aluminum
My first tripod with twist locks but is far from a deficiency for me ... they work well, I trust it with my camera, and I'll get use to them just fine. Nice weight hook, nice functioning ball head, and I like the color scheme. The balance ball is easily seen and used with the mount slightly forward with the camera I use. Even if I couldn't see the bubble at all it wouldn't affect the photos I seek. This perfectly fits into my underseat carryon luggage that also carries my other photo gear with room to spare. It also fits well in any of my backpacks or the saddlebags & trunk of my touring bike. This tripod is more stout and sturdy than more expensive travel tripods that I've used and is a welcome addition to my light mirrorless camera gear. I don't baby my gear but do treat it with respect, and I feel this will last for a worthy amount of time. Decent soft case for those that use them. I'm quite happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • great light and travel-sized tripod that fits in a backpack pocket
Style: Aluminum
I am thrilled that I found this dslr tripod via a magazine review. It has all the features I want and it's super small. It fits in the side pocket of my 16 inch backpack easily! It could also fit inside the pack as well. It's light so I won't mind carrying it around and it won't take up too much of my weight allowance for checked baggage. I like all of its features, including the ball head that comes with it. The hook will also come in handy because it will hold my bag and stabilize the tripod when it's windy. The only other small tripod I could find was the peak one, but at $600 it was much too expensive IMHO. I haven't used this much yet, but I'll update my review once I've taken this on a trip or too. ... show more

  • Little heavier than expect but still keeping!
Style: Aluminum
This is a little bit heavier than expected BUT I'm going to keep it. here is why: 1. If you are traveling you don't want your tripod to blow over. This has happened to me before with a less sturdy tripod. 2. It is REALLY difficult to find a compact tripod that extends to this height so I can actually take a photo of myself without crouching down. 3. It takes about a minute to open and close. Which isn't bad! I've tried other compact tripods pinch me when I tried to slide to close. Overall would HIGHLY recommend. This is a great tripod for about 100 bucks. ... show more
