I was blown away with the picture quality and features of this projector. Gaming on this was buttery smooth. If you have the capability for a short throw projector, it’s hard to beat this one.

    • Amazing 4K home theater projector
Style: 4K 2200 ANSI lm 10W speaker w/ Android T...
First of all, I am a video guy by trade. I know all of the technical jargon and everything that's going on behind the scenes. This is not a true 4K projector, but you'd be fooled by how good of an image this thing produces. I game a lot, and so a low input lag was important for me, and this projector delivers in spades. I had my other AV geek buddy over for a theater stress test and he was constantly amazed by the bright colors and deep blacks. My last PJ was the 2150st, and I wanted something similar but with newer tech, and this is it. I've had it mounted to the ceiling in my home theater since January and I just love being down there playing games and watching movies with my family. Excellent excellent projector. ... show more

    • Good, but not Great
Style: 4K 2200 ANSI lm 10W speaker w/ Android T...
This has a great picture, sound could be better, setting up was a breeze, but with HDMI 2.0 lacks the next Gen feel I have a very high end pc, so the lack of 2.1 really hurt. BenQ offers settingsXchange but with few games available. No ethernet so a high speed internet is recommended. 3d was good enough. For the price you get better projectors with 120hz refresh rate and ethernet connections and HDMI 2.1. Picture quality was good in semi dark room, better in the dark ... show more

It is AMAZING. So bright and the colors are just wow! Not loud at all and fairly easy to get used to. Only issue is fighting my family over who is watching something next 💀

    • 4K Short Throw Projector With Plenty to Offer - Highly Recommended

I purchased this 4K short throw projector for my garage/mancave, as the garage motor on the ceiling prevented a standard throw projector. I am displaying the projector image on a 150" screen from 8ft 3inches away, and could not be happier with the quality of picture out of the box. Very little adjusting is needed to get a good picture, and setup was straight forward with no issues. This is a great projector for home theater and gaming. The projector recognized my PS5 and Nintendo Switch once plugged in, and automatically adjusted the picture accordingly to maximize game play. There are several gaming modes to choose from, so depending on your gaming preferences there is plenty to offer with this projector. 4K HDR movies look incredible, and so far I am very pleased with the overall performance of the Ben Q x500i on the home theater side of things. The speakers built into the projector are ok, but I definitely recommend leveraging a full audio system for overall experience. The 4LED technology has a great picture, and no bulb to change after 4000 hours of use. This projector is capable of 30,000 hours of use, which is amazing. I highly recommend this projector to anyone looking for a 4K short throw projector with quality and performance in mind. This is my first Ben Q purchase, and it has defiantly exceeded all of my expectations. Well done Ben Q!!!!! ... show more

    • The BenQx500i projector is louder than expected during normal operation
Style: 4K 2200 ANSI lm 10W speaker w/ Android T...
The BenQx500i projector is fantastic in every way except for its excessive fan/actuator/ambient noise. I tried various settings, including adjusting to 1080P and eco mode, but the noise while operating was still far too loud for normal use. While the sound can be masked at moderately high volumes, the high-pitched whirring even at levels above the listed specifications was unbearable. Consequently, I had to return the projector. Apparently the X500i uses an XPR actuator for 4K pixel shifting, which mechanism makes a high-pitched hum that is rather annoying once you hear it. The picture quality is excellent particularly for a short throw projector, but the loud ambient noise is a significant drawback that was unbearable. ... show more

No. We had to return it because it it not zoom as we needed it to. For $1500 you'd think it would be a better product. Very disappointing.

Worth every penny great picture and low latency. What else could you ask for. The wall I project it on creates a 145 inch screen and playing games on it is absolutely amazing.
