My dog HATES cones. He cannot stand the noise of the plastic or the velcro/buttons that come on a typical cone. I figured this was worth a shot. No idea why there are any bad reviews. It's soft like suede, blew up in under 1 minute, no pump required. The best part is the donut acts like a pillow so my dog can rest comfortably and stay safe from chewing or licking any body parts/wounds. I would 10-10 recommend. I purchased the XL. My dog has a wide neck and this was the perfect size. Velcro works well, the designs are cute, easy to use, flexible material and design for comfort, feels soft like suede.

Bought this in a size XL for my 90 lb boxer after he got fixed it was perfect. He absolutely hated the plastic one from the vet and refused to walk with it. This one was a lot more comfortable for him and he walked and slept in it just fine. We used his collar through the loops to help keep it on. The Velcro was very easy to use and it stayed on and fit him great. It’s not too heavy almost felt like a regular neck pillow. The design of this is perfect. He was safe and it worked great.

Pros: This product is comfortable on the dogs neck. It even acts like a pillow while they rest from surgery and it does prevent them from reaching over to lick the surgical area. I like that it's secured using the dogs collar so it won't slip off. The product is made of an outer thick but soft velvety fabric which covers the plastic inflatable donut within. It is ideal for less energy drive dogs in my opinion. Cons: I have a belgian malinois who fit in well into the xl size and was comfortable in it for a few hours but as most dogs, he tried to remove it and tried to scratch it off. As much as I tried to monitor him and deter him from scratching it off, he managed to deflate it. Durability extends only so much but I also understand my dog is a very high energy breed. I had to return this product as it was not ideal for my pet. However, i would purchase again for my other pet who is a smaller low energy dog. Hope this information helps.

I’m not a big fan of the cone of shame that dogs have to wear after surgery. The big plastic cone always gets in the way when a dog eats food or something. This donut was so much more comfortable for our dog and she was able to eat her food without a problem. There is an adjustment period at first and we did have to deflate it a little bit just so that she could move around a little bit easier. However, if you put enough air in it, she can’t reach the surgical site and lick her self. And that’s the main reason why we got this donut in the first place. I would totally buy this again if our other donut breaks.

I have an active Blue Heeler that needed this after spay surgery. This is designed to be worn using their regular collar- which is threaded into the inside of the ring to ensure a snug fit. My Heeler was able to remove it in less than 5 minutes. It was properly inflated and sized. I could have made her regular collar tighter, but then as she struggled to get it off it created a high strangulation risk. DO NOT use it unattended. Ever. Do not kennel your dog while wearing this collar overnight or anytime you are not in direct line of sight to your dog. It has a great fabric cover and appears well-made overall. Blowing it up is not easy as you have to squeeze the nib VERY hard. Deflating was also a huge chore as you have to squeeze the nib to get all the air out. I understand this is to keep it from deflating while the dog is wearing it. Like people all dogs are different, and some will be able to use this collar with no problem at all. I think this product works better for dogs with a less streamlined head and neck or large head dogs like bulldogs etc.

We had a cat with an issue that required precenting him from licking his belly. We saw one of these inflatable ones at a shelter and gave it a try. It stayed on about as good, but didn't interfere as much with eating and drinking as the cone. The downside, he didn't get as good television reception.

My little boy loves to lick his legs. So much so that I feared a hot spot. So I got him this blow up collar. It was the perfect fit as described and recommended. He has freedom of movement to run, to drink, to eat and he loves to take naps with it on. It acts like a pillow. The material is soft and removable for cleaning. He loves it and he can’t reach to lick his legs. That makes me love it. I recommend this product. Supervision is always recommended

I got this for my dog after he got neutered recently. It does seem decently durable as he did bite it a couple of times while I was putting it on him but he didn't puncture it. However unfortunately it does not seem to really deter him from anything. Could be his build- he is a German Shepherd mix and very lean with a long snout- I could see it working more effectively on dogs like say a frenchie or pug or something. But as far as I can tell he can still reach pretty much anything he was able to reach without it on, with one exception. I also have him in a surgical suit onesie thing and he tried to bite that one around the neck/collar area by pressing his mouth straight down onto his chest. The donut DOES prevent him from being able to do that, so I got something out of it at least. I think the product itself is fine it probably just depends on what breed of dog you have and what you are trying to prevent them from reaching. He can still reach his genitals, legs and paws with this on but YMMV.
