As a former music teacher, I believe this is a very balanced collection of pieces for beginner violinists. The goal in those stages is to feel comfortable with the instrument and technique. These selections are well suited to master the technique while challenging the student to be confident in reading and producing beautiful sounds. Love the inclusion of Ode to Joy and Scarborough Fair. Two of my favorites while learning the keyboard. Providing the digital download of the piano accompaniment is a wonderful thing. (I sure wish we had that when I began my musical career) I think being able to utilize that will further boost the new student’s confidence as they appreciate the dynamic of playing a solo on top of the accompanist. I recall early on, with string students specifically, a lot of frustration not relating melodies to the full selection.
