When I ordered this, there were no thorough reviews with photos, so hopefully I can help someone out. I got the queen size loft bed with stairs and this is a really cool bed. I bought this to maximize useable square footage in my small city apartment. I use the space underneath for my work-from-home setup and for playing computer games. I am a pretty small adult and still nimble, so I don’t mind climbing in and out of the bed and ducking under the loft. Packaging: It came in 2 long and heavy boxes. Thankfully, my apartment complex wheeled them inside for me before I even moved in, so I didn’t have to haul them up. It would be a pain to get them up any stairs, you’d need a second person for sure. Assembly: It took about 6.5-7 hours to build. It has you build the staircase first, which one person can mostly do by themselves. Once the stairs are done, you can’t do it without a second person. The directions were pretty easy to follow, we only made a couple minor mistakes that we caught early, so just go slow and read thoroughly before you work on each step! The parts are all labeled with stickers so it was easy. Stability and Size: First, it seems pretty stable when you’re up in the bed. It only really moves with side-to-side motion rather than back and forth motion (anchoring to the wall would help but I didn’t because I rent). I do wish it had another long head-to-foot support bar or two holding up the mattress for peace of mind, but it does seem to do the job. When a person lays on the bed, you do see some flex in the bars from underneath, but it’s not alarming. The weight limit is 350lb, but when we built it we tested about 390lb on it (combined weight of the heavy mattress, me, and my brother) and it held up. I chose to put a 12” thick queen mattress in it instead of the recommended 6”, and it still fits. But it goes all the way up to the top of the guard rails, so if you/your child needs the fall protection, use a shorter mattress. The stairs are only a little wider than my body is, so it can be a little tight if you are larger (I am 5’3” 125lb so not an issue). Upon walking down the stairs, I do notice some noise on the bottom 3 steps, but I believe this is due to the fact that we forgot to put on the adhesive strips underneath the wood panels, so I’m hearing the sound of wood rubbing on the metal support bars. But they are bolted and screwed on strong, so I’m not worried about it. Headspace Underneath: The under-bed space is 50” tall, so I have to duck to get under. Once I’m sitting at my desk, it’s totally fine and my head doesn’t hit the bed. Taller people would not have such a good time though. Bedside Rack: This part is awesome, it’s the full length of the bed so you can put a lot in there. It has a built in outlet station so you can charge your phone and other devices, essentially acting as a nightstand while you’re up there. Conclusion: Overall a good loft bed and I recommend it to both young adults and kids! I find it worth the price (I paid $379) and it gives me a lot more space in my small apartment.

I only put 4 stars because the absolute hassle and time it took to get this mother trucker together. It took my mom and I more than 6 hours. The instructions absolutely suck. No words, just pictures. I think it took so long because parts fit within other parts but because the screws were already tightened, we had to go back and loosen them to get the next piece to slide in and fit. I also didn’t see in the instructions where you decided which side to put the stairs on. Mine seemed to be mandating the right side (which is fine because that’s what I wanted), but still. I absolutely will pay whoever however much next time to do this so I don’t have to. It’s metal so seems extremely sturdy. The stairs aren’t extremely wide, but that’s fine since it’s for my kid. It definitely gives her her entire room back so she’s ecstatic about that. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase and even more happy that it’s put together and I don’t have to touch it ever again LOL

This is good quality and I am satisfied with my purchase. However, the instructions are not the best to assemble. No words, just pictures, and a TON of parts and pieces. Also, there's several pieces where there is a connector hole or similar, to where the piece has to be positioned in the correct direction otherwise you won't be able to move on with a step, but not clearly marked in the directions, and you wouldn't notice it was the wrong way until several steps down the line, making it so you have to then unassemble and do it all over again from that point. Also, note that wherever you decide to assemble this, that you'll need sufficient clearance, well beyond you'd think to assemble the crossbar and its pieces since they have to slide in and are fixed long pieces. We ended up having to rig up a contraption to half hold them in to get the whole thing up since despite having a few extra feet of space on each side, wasnt enough without hitting the walls or the ceiling during assembly. But other than the assembly issues, the product seems great and sturdy. The storage on the stairs is a nice touch. Would recommend this.

It’s a great bed but it’s a terrible process to put together. It took my husband and I 5 hours total to get it done. Instructions are awful, they are about 70% clear. Husband and I had to redo pieces 3 times🤣 Our kid is insanely happy with it, so there’s that. Also if this is not for a child, definitely check the width dimensions for the stairs as they are skinnnny! I have to go sideways and still barely fit. On top of that we had several pieces that were not filed down appropriately to be able to accept the pieces, missing screws, and some pieces that were doubled? Maybe the last part was intentional. I reached out to the manufacturer to get the pieces that cannot be attached (the entire top step) replaced. My kid can still use it considering he is a teen but a smaller child may find issue with it. Last small issue. They include strip lights but not a battery for the remote. Kinda weird thing to skip out on. All in all, it does the job and is very sturdy. They do try with the instructions but it is such a complex project that it can be difficult to read until after you get there. Kid is very happy. That’s the best part.

Unlike many people buying a TwinXL loft, I'm not doing so for my kids. It's for a room that is an office and bedroom. So I have to make the most of the space. I ended up putting the room's loveseat underneath the loft which freed up a ton of room. Pros: -Sturdy, well built, and has stairs. -Stairs: this is the reason I purchased this bed. If I ever have a rough day where I don't want to climb up and down a steep ladder at night, this is much safer. -Well engineered: The parts all come together really well so that assembly was quite easy. More on that below. -Extra parts: no missing parts and more parts than I needed, thankfully! -Sufficient storage space underneath Cons: -Underneath the bed is only 40" tall by default. That's not high enough for adults to sit or work under comfortably. -One bar came with a slight bend in it, but it was packaged well overall. -Very heavy. I used a hand truck to move these two boxes into my house and bedroom. If you need to take it upstairs, you'll need to unpack it and spend an hour or two taking a few parts up at a time (unless you or one of your kids is the Hulk). -Controller for the LED lights doesn't function as it should (e.g., turning lights to blue makes them green instead; lights don't go up and down in brightness, lots of buttons don't work). But this is really not a big deal since the lights were just a bonus. Assembly Feedback and Tips -Don't tighten bolts all the way until you have all the bolts in place for the step you're in. Everything fits well with patience, but you have to get all your bolts in about 3/4 of the way, and then tighten them all a little at a time. -I got an Alan wrench bit for my drill, which sped things up a little. -By myself, it took about five hours to unpack, set up, and get things cleaned up. -While I did it by myself, I don't recommend that. A few of the steps near the end are difficult if you don't have an extra set of hands to hold something up while you put in a bolt. -Pay very close attention to how pieces should be oriented - there's one right way and several wrong ways for most pieces. -The instructions have you begin with the stair handrails to the far right. I mention that in case getting a mental picture of what you're doing helps you. Boosting the Bed Higher While this is probably not recommended by the manufacturer, after assembling, I used a car jack and some 2x4's to lift the bed and place it on cement blocks with concrete caps. This gives me 10" or more extra headroom underneath. I then anchored it to the wall to make sure it doesn't move. I've now got about 5' of clearance underneath. Amazon sells a 13" stool that I ordered since the first step is now 24" high.

I really wanted this loft bed to work, but the overall experience has been extremely disappointing. The packaging is disorganized — parts from different steps are scattered across two boxes, so you have to sort everything yourself before you can even begin. The assembly instructions are incomplete, with missing steps and unclear diagrams. Even working carefully, it took nearly five hours to put together. Once assembled, the bed is extremely noisy. Every small movement causes loud creaking and metal-on-metal sounds, even after tightening every bolt. It’s disruptive enough that simply turning over at night sounds like a major structural failure. The stairs are another issue. The instructions require attaching them with double‑sided tape, which is not secure and feels unsafe. The wood is so polished and slick that it’s easy to slip — friction tape or a proper mounting method would have been far more appropriate. There are also small but telling quality issues, like shipping an LED remote without the inexpensive CR‑22 battery it requires. It adds to the overall impression of cost‑cutting. If the bed weren’t so large and difficult to disassemble, I would return it immediately. Unfortunately, after hours of assembly and a very poor end result, I’m left with a product that doesn’t meet basic expectations for stability, noise, or safety. **Overall: not recommended.**

Bought this for my 9 year old and he loves it. It's definitely the hardest piece of furniture I've ever assembled because of the number of parts, BUT it's extremely well made and the pieces fit perfectly if you do it correctly. Twice we had a bar turned the wrong way and struggled to tighten the screws. But once we fix the mistake, it went together easily. You need 2 people to assemble. Don't try it by yourself.

This bed is very sturdy and looks nice and of good quality. Assembly was not the worst thing I have ever put together and I did it by myself for the most part with a little help from my 9 year old. I gave it 4 stars vs 5 because the directions could have been more clear when it came to indicating which side of each part should be at the top or inside vs outside kind of thing. Can figure it out on most of the parts but if you make a mistake there is a lot of rework. Would be easy enough to give more clear directions and that would make a big difference for a product with so many parts. Other than that, very satisfied with the product.
