I waited four months before reviewing this because of some complaints about this coffee maker not lasting long. But the directions on the machine are very, very clear: turn it off when it is done brewing, and unplug it. I don't know why unplugging it matters - that doesn't make much sense, but I do it anyway. My suspicion is that the heating element fails if you keep the machine on after it is done brewing, SO TURN IT OFF and I think you'll be fine. And I mean, turn it off immediately after it is done brewing. If you're the type of person who is going to brew a cup and disappear for awhile, then, if I'm understanding the directions and other reviews correctly, you'll be disappointed. So just wait a few minutes for it to brew. It only takes a couple minutes. Then turn it off. Did I mention you should turn this thing off? Instead of complaining about it not working after you don't? As for the coffee brew itself? It's great. The filter is perfectly shaped and the filter holes are perfectly sized. It's easy to clean, too. Super easy to use. The brew is excellent, actually as good a coffee as I've had from any machine. For 20 bucks, I'd probably use this in place of any larger machine even if I needed a larger one. ... show more

    • Great when it works but has a short life - worthless warranty

I first ordered this coffee maker because of the great reviews and cost. It does make good coffee and is easy to use but our first one died after 3 months. We tried to do a warranty claim though the company but forget it... their customer service bites. After at least a dozen emails and multiple request for videos of a non-functioning DOA unit (every time we sent a video there was some reason it was not correct???) we gave up after a month correspondence. The time we spent on this was not worth the price f the coffee maker. Against my better judgement my wife ordered a 2nd one when it was on sale. Since the unit does not have an auto off function I thought maybe my wife had left it on too long. Because of this I bought a timer switch that automatically turns off after 5 minutes thinking that this would avoid the issue on our second unit. That unit also failed after a few months. The timer switch I bought did not solve anything. Unless you want a paper weight that looks like a cheap coffee maker avoid this like the plague. The warranty is worthless. ... show more

I wanted a smaller coffee maker for my small kitchen counter. This little coffee machine does the trick for or me! Cute, compact and easy to use! Very affordable too! Then one da…it sputtered and stop working. A pool of water appeared underneath. I liked it until it stopped working.

I bought this to have a single cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate before work or bed and it works great. The water is hot enough and only takes a couple of minutes. The brew basket is well designed to make a good cup of coffee and can be removed for just a hot cup of water with no splashing or overfill. I do wish it were taller so my travel mugs would fit but then I usually use it for a large cup which works great. Recommend it for any who want a single cup of coffee or hot water when in a hurry. ... show more

    • Buyer Beware - Update

I looked at coffee pots online for over a year. Got this and loved it. HOWEVER, less than a year and it totally stopped working. As directed by Bella I sent them a photo of the bottom metal label, a copy of the receipt that shows the price and the shipping date, etc. (I am pretty sure I registered it online too). Though this item is still listed on Bella's website and for sale at Amazon, and Target they would not replace it!!! I guess because I got it on sale maybe (?) that they will not send me a new one. Then they made me go back and take more photos of the product after I cut the cord. I sure hope they at least send me a refund check for what I paid for this product. Had planned to buy other Bella products, will not do that now if they do not stand behind them. There just not seem to be any way possible for this coffee maker to leak and once it's done brewing, it's done! No more dripps or messes after about a dozen bews. I am so blessed! Golly the coffee tastes great too! I am using some tea bags I ordered and making pods out of them. I just fold them over with the openng face down and not a ground gets anywhere ever! Pop one it, brew a cop, toss the tea bag.... repeat for your second cup. This is a GREAT coffee maker. I have been wanting to try a Bella, they all seem so well thought out, and I was right! I got the red one because it is cheaper but it's not that dull color red, boy it looks nice. If you are tired of leaky pots, pots that are hard to pour into, canisters that leak all over when you are pouring your coffee, or continue dripping after you have removed the canister... Well, this Bella is perfect! Coffee is hot and with a double walled stainless steel up with a handle, I am tickled pink! Thanks, Bella! ... show more

Wish it had auto shut off. The rased cup base is unstable ,better off leaving it at lowest. I do like doesn't take much space is narrow in width. And decently short. Lod to refill is hard it catches on plastic tab like I sould but makes difficult for some users because whe opening thelod to efill ater of coffee grounds the whole. aching comes up off he counter or table. Very light weight. I'll probably glues some weights to back near bottom or add velcro to the base ,ans I'll probably cut off the tab for Lid closure to make it easier to open. Needs securing to a surface somehow. The good thing is best of all it takes up little space and has removable coffee filter that's reusable to clean. ... show more

flavor would depend on what coffee you choose. duh. I disabled my keurig by accidentally running it out of water. this one will not die of you accidentally forget to check the water before you press that brew button. Sometimes the Kcup will explode and leave grounds all over the underside and it's a mess to clean up. thats probably the result of a bad cup. the only real part i hate is that there is no "coffee's done" beep. I always use a bottled water now since having problems with really hard water deposits messing up my brewers in the past. I like the water amount it holds so i can make a few cups before having to fill it. ... show more
