  • Behringer would have had a winner on their hands if corners weren't cut.
style: Mixer
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I had always had good luck with Behringer products in the past (pre 2008). I was getting in to game streaming and needed a mixer. The Q502USB fit the bill perfectly...except... My first one arrived and after about two weeks of use it began clipping. Loud static noises would appear out of nowhere and go in to the main feed. I had that unit exchanged for another through Amazon. It has been three weeks with the replacement unit and the same problem is happening again (A bit quieter this time, but still noticeable). I went ahead and got a second opinion (Local DJ shop) and they said that from what I'm describing and their analysis, it seems like Behringer get a shipment of bad capacitors. The type of sound it produces as well as the random intermittent nature of it points towards a capacitor issue. I would give it two stars but it would seem harsh as I don't think it's Behringer's intent. I give it three because it's a good mixer (Assuming you win the capacitor lottery). Add to that small annoyances like ONLY +15v Phantom Power (Really Behringer? Everyone uses 48v) and a weak power connector. Many times I'll be streaming and the plug comes loose cutting my audio off. This happened on BOTH units. The casing on the mixer was also designed wrong. Even on a flat table it rocks. I thought maybe it was just my bad luck with the first one, the replacement unit had the same issue. Behringer would have had a winner on their hands if corners weren't cut. EDIT 3/28/19: After my initial review I went ahead and got a stand alone Behringer 48v Phantom Power module. I disable Phantom Power on the mixer itself and the problem seemed to go away. Until now... Once again the loud static noise is back and to make sure it wasn't anything else I changed out my mic (XLR) and bypassed the Phantom Power box. At the moment the mic is plugged directly in to Channel 1 with the 15v Phantom Power on and I'm getting the static noises. Pretty certain it's the mixer. It was a good run, but ultimately, you get what you pay for. I will leave the review at 3 stars since it did last me a while. I love the design, but quality control needs to be stepped up. I've used Behringer products for years with ZERO issues, but this one now has me shopping for new mixers - Leaving Behringer out of the search. Perhaps the next generation of products will be better. ... show more

  • Updated: Overall solid product... Until random issues occurred.
style: Mixer
Overall it's really nice and I'd like to mess around with it a bit to get the best possible sound for it. My only negative complaint is that if you have the volume setting on your PC at 100 you'll hear electrical interference in your recording. So you have have to drop it down to 90 or lower in order to fully avoid that issue. Update: I'm dropping this review down one star because after a month of use it just stopped working properly. The settings I had were causing electrical interference to pop up and it seems as though the power cord is partially the issue. One moment it works fine the next it starts needing me to lower the gain and level knobs down to 0 for myself to avoid that issue. ... show more

  • Exactly what I needed
style: Mixer
This is exactly what I needed! I already have a AKG D5 xlr mic and BEHRINGER U-PHORIA UMC204HD that i have setup for my PC but I needed a mic for my ps4 that did not sound horrible. I thought about buying a mod mic but I am glad I started looking for USB mixers that works on ps4 and I found this little gem. It works perfect and I have control of mic gain and volume. I also have the option to monitor the mic at real time with the headphone input. The options to control gain was very important to me since I play in a noisy environment and would really like to minimize background noise as much as possible. I also bought an xlr splitter to pair with this unit and my behringer uphoria so that I dont have to keep disconnecting xlr cables and swapping them around. If you bought this for the ps4 and you are having issues getting it to work feel free to message or comment here and I will try to help you the best I can :) ... show more

  • I like this box, but the 802 was a better fit
style: Mixer
This is an excellent product. I bought it for my piano (Roland Fp-30 does not include an audio in!). It took me a while to figure out how things worked, but once I did, I realized I wanted a bigger one so I could plug in more stuff and because the bigger ones have 3-way equalization on every channel, which means you get equalizer and mixer in one, the way it should be. If you are a newbie like me, you need to know that the microphone input channels are super versatile, even if you don't use a mike. I can plug in my guitar into the XLR using a DI box, or I can use the regular 1/4" inputs on the mike channel. The RCA interface is also useful; they are like an extra in and an extra out, but just don't have any controls. I use the in for Ipad audio. THe phantom power seems to work really well with my Behringer DI box. Also, if you only plug in one of the inputs on achannel, it autmatically switches to balanced mono. So bottom line, for music , get the 802, but if you want the minimum for some voice work or a single instrument, this is a beauty. ... show more

  • Uses generic Asio software driver, has very high self noise level, no 48 volt phantom power
style: Mixer
1st thing is they cheaped out on the phantom power and only provide 15 volts, not the true 48 volts that most microphones require. 2nd, they use generic software drivers from Asio4all. I WAS able to find original Behringer software drivers from several years ago that worked with this mixer, but it didn't work with some of the software on my PC. 3rd this mixer has a very noisy static floor that gets louder when the gains are turned up. The Asio driver was really really bad and it's slightly less noisy using the Behringer Driver, but it's still there. There are dozens of "How to fix your Behringer mixer hiss" videos online, which should tell you right off the get go that these things are junk... unfortunately I didn't find them until after I purchased mine. Over all I give this thing 2 thumbs down and do not recommend it at all to anyone. ... show more
