  • Could not be happier (update)
[Original review; Dec, 2022] I have been very impressed by this little device. I got it simply to connect to the big flat-screen in my workshop. I'm not big on music, so I usually play a movie/TV/documentary series in the background while I work. The TV can handle playing Netflix and the like, but I wanted a PC so I could jump on the web and look things up when needed. This weekend, I was asked to stay over at my brother's and babysit my nephew. My old gaming laptop had finally taken a nosedive, and I haven't yet replaced. So I grabbed this guy, along with a portable monitor (shaped like a tablet), and the needed peripherals (keyboard, mouse, etc.) and headed over. My nephew is 11, so of course, his whole life is centered around video games. And I'm the "cool uncle", so when I come over we usually play a little something. This device allowed me to play all of our usual games (Minecraft, Terarria, No Man's Sky, and more), with no issues. Admittedly, I did have the graphics settings set to low. I probably could have turned them up higher, but I didn't want to risk doing any thermal damage to it. But, all said, it handled everything like a champ. The fan barely ever came on, and it never once jumped into "Oh crap, we're on fire" mode. (You know the setting; where the fans in devices like these sound like they're preparing to launch into space.) So I'd say it handled itself beautifully. And its ability to actually game was impressive. All in all, I am very happy with the device, would buy it again without a second thought, and can whole heartedly recommend it to others. [UPDATE Feb, 2024] I am still very happy with this product, and have no complaints. I have since purchased three more of these devices, and each has performed perfectly. Just like my original review, I have one installed in my workshop, one in my old laptop bag (and it has permanently replaced my laptop for traveling), and two in my RV trailer. The one in my workshop is probably not kept in ideal conditions. It is exposed to higher temperature swings, more dust/sawdust, and occasional chemicals in the air; and yet it is working perfectly. The one my laptop bag is the originally purchased unit. It now travels with me, in place of my old gaming laptop. So it experiences getting bounced around in a backpack, tossed into the car, hauled into hotel rooms, and multiple plug/unplug cycles. The other two are in my RV. One is mounted behind the TV in the main room, and other is in the back bedroom. They allow me to use the TV as a monitor and hop on the web when needed, look things up, play videos at night or during inclement weather, etc. A few more impressive feats: As compact as these units are, they are designed with room to accommodate an added SSD. There are built in brackets and an included SATA cable. I have added a 5TB SSD drive to almost all of these units, allowing me to cram them full of movies and TV shows for when I'm on the road away from my big digital library at home. I find it pretty impressive that these tiny units not only fit an add-on device, but they were purpose-built for it (I didn't have to modify anything to make it work). Also, just to see what would happen, I loaded up a really intensive game, Star Citizen. Now, admittedly, I did run the game on low video settings, but that is a very intensive game that can be quite punishing on PCs. And while, of course, it didn't keep up with my custom-built gaming rig at home, it still ran the game at a playable rate. Enough, that if I was traveling, or stuck in the RV on a rainy day, I could get on and have some fun. The fan did run for most of it, but it didn't jump to its highest speed, and even turned off occasionally during play (indicating it isn't overheating). All in all, I've been truly impressed with this product (enough to buy four of them.) I've permanently replaced my gaming laptop with these. It is a bit more work to connect all the peripherals together when I set them up (external portable monitor, keyboard, mouse, portable speaker), but also, each of those components are much easier to replace if one dies than it would be on a laptop, and it offers more flexibility to put each component where it's convenient. And they all don't take up much more room in my bag than my original laptop does. I even keep a very small projector in my bag, and will some times project a large screen onto the wall at a hotel or even in my RV, and enjoy a massive screen. Beelink includes quite a few cables and adapters (without going overboard), to make it easy to get this device hooked up and rolling as soon as you open the box. From the time I broke the seal on the box to sitting at my Windows desktop screen was less than five minutes. And there's several notes inside from Beelink asking to contact them if there's any issues or missing parts (which, I haven't experienced with my four purchases), so they seem very customer service oriented and want to make sure you're happy with your purchase. However, I haven't had to contact them for anything, so I can't speak to how well they back that up. But, other customer reviews seem to have positive things to say about their interactions with Beelink's customer service. And the unit feels very good in hand. It has just enough heft to it to feel well made, without being overly heavy. There are rubber (or maybe silicone) gaskets sealing all the connectors together, so nothing rattles or rubs. All in all, I have no complaints, and have bee impressed with this product enough to buy it four times over multiple years. I whole-hearted recommend this product. ... show more

  • Great buy for me!
My desktop died. I had to get a replacement, but didn't have a lot of money. First I tried a rent to own, which was overly expensive, but tided me over until I ran across this little gem. I was kind of leery at first, because I'd never seen a mini pc in action, but I'm glad I took the leap. I did have to buy a disk drive separately, which you can get nice ones on Amazon for like $20, so no big deal. I already had multiple keyboards and mouses, so I didn't need them. All I needed was the pc itself, and whatever cords were specific to i, like the power cord. The desktop I was renting they wanted $1600 to buy outright. It had less storage, less RAM, a slower processor, and fewer usb ports, and was huge by comparison of footprint. This is about a third of the price and it works great for me. I design websites, write, do graphics design, and Warcraft to name a few. I've installed CorelDraw, Norton, Warcraft, Azgard Defense, WordWhomp, OpenOffice, a Canon printer/fax/copier. If I can find my disks, I'll be installing my Hoyle games as well. With the disk drive I bought it plays my CDs and DVDs nicely. It comes with Microsoft edge, which I don't like, so I installed Firefox, which I love. It will run multiple browsers at the same time without issue, which helps if your designing websites and graphics. You need to make sure everything is cross browser compatible. So your computer needs to handle different ones, often in use at the same time. Generally, I install at least three of the ones I know people use. I can play Warcraft at recommended and above settings and it's been doing great. No lag. No kicking or carrying on at all. Graphics are clean and crisp, even when a lot is going on, like doing things with a group. I've even run other programs while gaming and still no lagging or other issues. In my opinion, this is a great little pc. It's inexpensive, works well - so far-, and doesn't take up much space on my desk. If you do find out you need more usb, just buy a usb bar. You can get one on Amazon for $10 and up. I can't speak to the technical support, because I haven't had any issues requiring their help. If eventually I do have an interaction with them, I'll try to let everyone know how things turn out. ... show more
