I was at first concerned about how much weight capacity this could support, but after assembly realize it is extremely well-designed and solid as a rock. There are legs in the middle of each siderail as well as three running down the center of the long dimension underneath the platform resulting in a total of 9 leg supports versus four (sometimes 5 with a center support) in a typical bedframe. Those legs are 12.5" long which create a decent underbed storage area. The 13 square heavy-duty steel tubes that make up the horizontal surface of the frame that supports the mattress are extremely strong and resilient and the fixed slide-in slots made assembly of that section fast and easy because there were no screws or bolts required. There are heftier bolt-attached square tubes at the headboard, center and footboard for added strength & stability. That platform is so well-designed and strong that there is no need for a box spring which creates a svelte look. The clever folding frame sides simplified assembly, and the design of the whole structure is genius and impressive! The instructions were well-written, illustrated and very clear and the entire assembly really took only the 45 minutes stated on the webpage. There is one discrepancy: in three places the graphic panels claim 1.200 lbs. capacity but the descriptive text states 1,000 lbs. capacity. I did not deduct my rating because either figure is sufficient for such a bed, but someone should determine the correct capacity and edit that page. The queen mattress we have fit the frame perfectly except that it is 15" thick because the top & bottom surfaces each have built-in pillow tops. The spec calls for a 9" to 11" high mattress and I can tell you that the thicker mattress definitely masks the geometric headboard. The mattress is fairly new so I will live with that for now. IMO this bed deserves six stars, but the rating system only goes to five!

Good bed. Fits lots of stuff underneath for storage area and the bed itself was decently easy to put together. My daughter loves it as it replaced an old handmade wood one. It looks nice in her room too.
