I think it would have been better if they’d arranged the pockets to open up toward person in bed. Pockets aren’t accessible except from other side, that aren’t reachable when lying in bed and also make them wide enough to hold a water bottle, remote, phone, and Kleenex. Other than that, this is a very quality product. It’s sturdy and gives something to hold on to when pulling up in bed.

This looks good, works well. The drawbacks are that the pocket won’t stay clipped in place and of course you can’t tuck in the sheets/blankets. However, I don’t think I’ll give this up even after my broken bones heal up. So much safer to use, especially with these new thick mattresses putting you so high off the floor.

This is a great enabler for my husband. Not sure if it would work so well if someone had weak upper body strength. But it has prevented him from falling out of bed and is small enough that there is no fear of entrapment or possible tangled limbs.

Bought this for my father-in-law who was continually falling out of bed when trying to get up. Now he has something to hold on to, giving him the support he needs. My mother-in-law asked me to buy her one as well after a major surgery because she was also having trouble getting out of bed. They both use them every day and they've not fallen out of bed once. It's a comfort for us to know they have some support even when we're not there. They also like the pocket and use it for phones, remote controls and books.

The item seemed to be sturdy and easy to assemble UNTIL the step for inserting the critical elbow pieces (90 degree bend pieces). Since each assembly pipe connection has spring-loaded locking buttons (a very nice feature) that fit through holes on the inside surface of each paired assembly pipe (again, a nice feature), one needs a "right" and a "left" elbow piece for correct assembly. However, my package contained 2 "right" elbow pieces, which if inserted would mean that one elbow piece will NEVER lock (there is no hole on the outer pipe surface for the locking button to fit into) — a dangerous condition for a product such as this. Amazon is supposed to send me a replacement which hopefully will have the correct matching pieces, instead of incorrect duplicate pieces. I have also written to the seller informing them of this problem. Hopefully I can revise this review with positive news after receiving my replacement unit. REVIEW REVISE/UPDATE — Amazon Customer Service helped me resolve the problems with this item, and the seller promptly sent a replacement which contained all of the proper parts. I still leave one star off, though, to identify the problem created by shipping incorrect parts and not including all needed parts.
