This bed rail is pretty good. It is nice to look at. I'm not too happy with how much weight it holds. It seems to move around a lot when you pull on it to get out of bed - maybe I didn't install it properly. It's pretty to look at. It is well made.

We installed this on my dad’s bed last weekend and it’s been a huge help with his mobility. He’s about 215 lbs and was struggling to get in and out of his taller mattress, but this rail is rock solid. It doesn't wobble at all when he puts his full weight on it to stand up. The height adjustment was easy to dial in so it lined up perfectly with his frame. It’s not bulky like some of the hospital-style rails you see, so it doesn't make his bedroom look like a clinic. It just slides right under the mattress and stays put. He feels a lot more confident getting up in the middle of the night now, and it gives the rest of the family some peace of mind. I’ve been using this bed assist rail since my knee surgery last month, and the mesh pouch is a lifesaver. I keep my glasses, the TV remote, and my phone right there so I don’t have to keep reaching over to the nightstand. The frame is surprisingly lightweight for how much weight it supports, which made it easy for my brother to move it from the guest room to the master suite when I switched beds. It’s got a very solid build quality, and the foam grip is comfortable on the wrists when you’re leaning on it. I have several of these for different locations and this one is pretty solid. It has very little sway, with adjusting, and I trust it to hold up an 84yr old with no issues. Great product.

The media could not be loaded. Almost returned this bed rail because of how badly written the assembly instructions are. Bad as in leaving out important details (vs the normal badly mangled language). Here's what to keep in mind if you're getting this safety rail: Part #1 slides... and you need to slide it open to do the needed bolts. Without knowing to do this the parts just don't fit. Skip Step 1. Do Step 2 to Step 5. Then come back and do Step 1 (now knowing Part 1 slides open) In Step 2 note which side has the notches (used for the tabs on the mesh pouch). Decide if you want pouch facing in to bed or out and do Step 2 accordingly. Otherwise you'll practically have to disassemble everything at end to re-orient this part. Don't like the tab hook design choice. It can pop off. Could easily be Velcro loop (which is already used on pouch bottom). A key dimension (hidden in one photo in product listing) is the minimum height where you insert the horizontal stabilizer between the mattress and box spring. That is ~14 inches. If that's lower for your bed (and it was for the bed we got this to go on) then you'll need to do some cutting to shorten (Parts 8 & 9). The bed is for a person with mobility challenges, so it's lower to the floor. That means will need to take out ~2" as that bed's height is 12" Also, the rubber pads on this seems to do better on hard surface floors (vs carpet). Maybe once it's installed on bed, that combined weight will do the trick.
