I had high hopes for this EasierHike sunshade so that I wouldn't have to pay the big bucks for the Shibumi. But alas, there is no free lunch. This sunshade worked fine when there was no wind, though it was much harder to set up than I thought it would be. It was also much heavier than I thought it would be. The material is very strong - but I guess the tradeoff is a lighter weight. The problem came when there was wind - as there is so often on the beach. We could not get the tail end of this sunshade to just stay put. It kept whipping up and down and hitting us on the head no matter how wide we staked it out, no matter which angle we tried. I ended up ordering the $$$$ Shibumi to be delivered to the beachhouse and using that the rest of our vacation. It was lightweight, much easier to set up, and worked with the wind. And not once did it hit us in the head (the material flapped, but it was high over our head instead of down near the sand as the EasierHike Sunshade was). I'll still use the sunshade someplace I'm sure - but probably not on the beach. ------------------------------------------------------- EDIT ON SEPTEMBER 20, 2022 -------------------------------------------------------- Allow me to say that this vendor is really responsive. They contacted me and offered a full refund!!!! Not many vendors take such a proactive approach, and even fewer would put $$$ into customer service. I would definitely do business with this vendor again, and changed my rating from 2 to 4 stars based upon their customer service.

I love how easy it is to use. It's compact and easy to carry. It's alot more convenient than a typical framed canopy. Great quality, great sun protection. It looks great.

I bought this to use for 4th of July at the beach. I have a Neso brand canopy already and thought i would save some money on a second one for the beach. This one was definitely not as easy to set up or keep up in the wind. It just wasn’t as stable in the high winds and required constant adjustments to keep it from loosening up and flapping on top of our heads. And when you adjust it you run the risk of breaking some of the clips that come with it. Luckily I had some stuff in my truck to fix it. I really thought there wouldn’t be much difference since they look very close in construction. It was very disappointing and we eventually just took it down and put up a pop up canopy. Had high hopes that it would work just as well since it was so much cheaper in price. But just not so.

We ended up at the beach on a windy day. We needed all 6 sandbags and we filled them all the way up. I recommend digging 6-8" holes for the bags to sit in. The wind gust pulled the bags until we added holes, then was good. Otherwise it stayed in place all day through steady head winds. I was nervous in the beginning, but it served us well. I would recommend this product for any beach goer. Update: Day 2 of use. A moderate wind gust come through and broke the little pot-metal clip on the strap. I remember looking at it when I opened the box and thinking too myself, these always break. I was hopeful after day 1 and disappointed day 2. I will be going to the hardware store to purchase carabiners and adjustable strap to replace the junk hooks & straps. I only knocked it down 1 star because the sail shade, poles, and sand bags seem sturdy. Update: Day 3. The wind today was coming from behind. No matter how tight I stretched it, the wind would push it down onto the occupants below. I am now thinking the 4-pole design might be better so the wind can pass through on all sides. Works great if the wind is coming head on. Not so great from the back side.
