Great music studio desk for the price! I really don’t have any negatives to say. It went together well, and the only issue I had was there was one piece that could be installed two different ways and instructions could’ve been clearer, because once I was finished I realized it was wrong, but had no major impact on the functionality (and maybe it was my fault). It’s very sturdy and so far it’s working great! I have two fairly heavy monitors on the top shelf with no worries, and I love that the pullout shelf is large enough for a full-size 49key midi controller, with a little room to spare. its worth the money... Only IF!!!! You have enough gear to install so the desk has WEIGHT to it. CONS: 1) MDF build is nice LOOKING, but not very STURDY. Without enough gear on it, the desk will sway because there's nothing install to give it mass. I had several pieces of gear and monitor speakers... this extra equipment weight helped to stabilize the desk from moving around and swaying left to right. 2) It's going to SWAY... left to right. Not much, but enough to be mentioned. I'll be adding two inexperienced things in the near future.. and X brace for desk, and L brackets is 4-8 spots. 3) The desk is LOW... Im 6'2" and I couldn't get my legs under the desk while sitting on a standard chair. I purchased two kinds of table risers, 2 inchs, and 4 inches. The 2 inch risers worked FLAWLESSLY!!!! PROS: 1) Extremely easy to assemble... It assembles faster than the Avengers! 2) There's a hidden " Wire Gully ". If you own equipment that you constantly need to connect things to, and get to the back of.... THE WIRE GULLY WAS A FANTASTIC BONUS!!!! it helped make fishing wires in and out a BREEZE! 3) It has the " Triangle " sweet spot built-in. Just line your monitors up with the angle on the top deck of the desk and BOOM! you at the perfect angle to hear everything! 4) It looks AMAZING!!!! It truly does look nice! You can see and feel the wood grain finish created by the laminate surface areas. 5) Price is fair for what you're getting. 6) It fits a 61 key midi controller. I've placed a MPK249 on the keyboard tray... No problem! I put a Axiom Pro 61 on it.... No problem! AKAI MPC KEY 61... NO PROBLEM! Final thoughts. The production desk looks surprisingly more expensive than it's actual cost. It's build quality isn't impressive, but its not poorly crafted either. What it lacks in build quality, it makes up for in design! Headphone holder, Ergonomic design, Wire Gully, pull out 61 key midi controller tray. Yes it's lower than a standard desk, but some 2 inch desk risers fixed this problem easily and for cheap. Yes it has left to right sway. But once I put my gear into the rack and set everything up... it because 80% more stable. X brace and L brackets will have it rigid. Even spending a few dollars on extra parts to stabilize the desk, its still less expensive then anything similar to it on Sweetwater or Sam ash... Build quality: 6.75/10 Ease of Assembly: 10/10 Price point: 9/10 Features: 9/10 Appearance 10/10 If you're looking for a professional look, and have enough equipment to give the desk the weigh it needs to help stabilize itself... BUY IT! If you have small sessions like you and one artists... BUY IT ... If you're a content creator... BUY IT... Video editing... Voice over... BUY IT.... If you keep a clean and neat work space... buy it. If you do a lot of moving things around in your project studio, or have rowdy sessions where things end up broken... Found this for my son who is studying sound design and needed to consolidate his laptop, keyboard, speakers, etc.—this desk solved that problem well and has been sturdy enough so far (that was our only concern before buying). The price couldn’t be beat—most other desks were far more expensive.
