Buy Decorative Film’s One Way Mirror Silver Window Film series are highly reflective window films that enhance daytime privacy. If the One Way Mirror window film is installed on a window, it gives the window a mirror-like, reflective appearance on the outside for the unwanted onlookers while still allowing the people inside to see the outside scenery through the window during daytime. However, there is an important fact to note about the One Way Mirror film. The film provides a mirror-like appearance only on the side that is silver and when it is considerably brighter on this side. For example, during daytime, the sun makes the outside much brighter than the inside of a building, so the outside of the window (the side that’s exposed to sunlight) will look like a mirror, giving passersby a view of nothing but their own reflection, while people can still see through the window from the inside. In contrast, during nighttime, the interior lighting of your home or office will allow people outside to see inside, and it will be harder for you to see outside because the inside of the building will be much brighter than the outside. This is unfortunately inevitable, as the transparent nature of window films makes it physically impossible for the One Way Mirror film to work during both daytime and nighttime. The One Way Mirror Window Films are all silver on the outside (where the reflective effect is desired to create a mirror-like appearance. The Silver 5% window film utilizes its low visible light transmittance (5% = Very Dark) to add to the mirrored effects. The color of the Silver 5% is silver on both the outside (the side that becomes highly reflective) and the inside.

11/9/24 UPDATE: Still looks amazing and did wonders in keeping our bill down and our from AC running 24/7 this entire past summer. 10/10 recommend! We live in the middle of a field and on hot summer days, our AC can’t keep up even when set on 78! Bought this film to replace some on a front storm door that was peeling. We were blown away at the temperature difference the 05 film made! So we went back and bought a HUGE roll to do all the windows in our home. We started with this sliding door that gets the direct hot afternoon sun. We already had 2 thermal curtains over it and still you could walk by and feel the heat. Added the 05 film, and the difference was astounding! Now, for the real important part: TAKE YOUR TIME AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! I used a ton of the soap solution and kept everything soaking wet. I took my time trimming the excess and squeegeeing the film down. I prepped the surface extra well by scraping off any residue, washing with soapy water and a scrubby sponge, drying, washing with windex, and finishing by wiping the glass down with rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth. If you don’t rush it and pay attention, you won’t have any problems. That’s what I did and I got amazing results…will update when I get my next power bill and do a comparison of usage on similar weather days. Also, I love the mirror reflection that shows during the day. I can keep my windows open and NO ONE can see in - just know that is reversed at night and only provides privacy during the day. ... show more

It was kinda a pain to install on my big windows but it was easy over all on the small ones I'd say use water don't skimp on water but it gives good privacy during the day it did make my house little darker then I wanted but still let's in plenty of light

We bought this film to keep the sun and heat out! It comes with a small squeegee and a small utility knife. Read the instructions, measured, cut the film and up it went. It is easy but I will recommend get a bigger squeegee, we have a big wide window the bigger squeegee made the installation so much easier and faster Spraying soapy water is key and patience End result is just beautiful and it works.     • Way too dark
I researched a lot before choosing this film. We recently moved into a new townhome. We live in FL so the sun on your windows can get extremely hot and really increase the warmth in the room so I wanted a solution to curb that heat as well as offer privacy on our downstairs windows, which happen to be 3 enormous sliding glass doors. I purchased a large roll of this so it wasn't cheap but I felt a worthwhile investment. Install was ok... I've done a fair amount of window film installs and this one is pretty difficult to measure (because of the roll being so large and heavy) and it also super sticks to itself...!! Like instantly glued to itself if it happens to fold over a bit and you haven't completely sprayed it with the soap solution as you are removing the backing which is challenging to do because of static happening at the same time -- its drawn to itself but if it folds then you definitely can't get it back apart. I lost several pieces this way, they had to be trashed which was disappointing. My bigger disappointment however is the color. It is extremely dark!! Like VERY dark. So dark in fact that I have decided not to use it in any of our other rooms -- I only did one room (our boys bedroom which was getting the hottest) but I may end up removing it even in there because it looks like night time in their room literally ALL day. I enjoy natural light and sunshine coming in, had not expected this film to make it so dark, I was just looking for it to filter the heat. Its unfortunate because now I have this huge roll that I can't/won't be using.... money wasted. Not saying it's bad film, it definitely cuts down significantly on the heat in the room so that part is great,just be prepared that is very, very dark. I’ll start with only 2 thinks I didn’t like. Product is amazing, however, the first 2 ft of the roll had many lines from someone possibly resting on it and wrinkling it up, and no knife or squeegee were included. Other than those minor set backs, I say stop looking and purchase. With careful installation, I was able to smooth out the wrinkles and looks completely sleek. Will post pictures when I get back home. I have so many windows in my house and nosy neighbors that I needed something as private as I can get it. The wall that all my windows reflect light onto we’re painted a non reflective dark color, and opted in on dimmed lighting. Pairing the two together gave me complete privacy. Ive worked with commercial grade before for a business I worked for and this beats it. Wish I knew about this before. ... show more

    • Worst tint ever. Do not buy!
First time trying this brand. Should have stuck to what I usually buy. Very thin, wrinkles right out of the box. Wish I read the 1 star reviews. They are true. Too many issues with this brand. Complete waste of time and money.
