  • STRONG ADHESIVE protected by release liner. For easier installation, use A LOT of soap/water mixture to soak both the adhesive side and window.
  • HIGH QUALITY PERFORMANCE FILM that is sensitive by nature. Please take caution when handling the film as the slightest fold may create a permanent wrinkle.
  • FREE TOOLS AND EASY INSTALLATION GUIDE to make installation DIY-friendly. Make sure the window surface is completely clean and absolutely free of any blemishes.

Description

Buy Decorative Film’s One Way Mirror Silver Window Film series are highly reflective window films that enhance daytime privacy. If the One Way Mirror window film is installed on a window, it gives the window a mirror-like, reflective appearance on the outside for the unwanted onlookers while still allowing the people inside to see the outside scenery through the window during daytime. However, there is an important fact to note about the One Way Mirror film. The film provides a mirror-like appearance only on the side that is silver and when it is considerably brighter on this side. For example, during daytime, the sun makes the outside much brighter than the inside of a building, so the outside of the window (the side that’s exposed to sunlight) will look like a mirror, giving passersby a view of nothing but their own reflection, while people can still see through the window from the inside. In contrast, during nighttime, the interior lighting of your home or office will allow people outside to see inside, and it will be harder for you to see outside because the inside of the building will be much brighter than the outside. This is unfortunately inevitable, as the transparent nature of window films makes it physically impossible for the One Way Mirror film to work during both daytime and nighttime. The One Way Mirror Window Films are all silver on the outside (where the reflective effect is desired to create a mirror-like appearance. The Silver 5% window film utilizes its low visible light transmittance (5% = Very Dark) to add to the mirrored effects. The color of the Silver 5% is silver on both the outside (the side that becomes highly reflective) and the inside.

  • Privacy & a Cooler Home - Mission Accomplished!
Size: 36in X 12ft
The product arrived promptly and in perfect condition. My windows look like a silver reflective mirror on the exterior. I am very happy with the level of privacy this film provides however I should clarify a few things about it's effectiveness. The level of effectiveness depends on where the light source is. What I mean by this is, during the day the light source (i.e. the sun) is on the outside and my home is darker on the inside, so passersby cannot see in my home. I can walk around in my pjs and be invisible. But because I have skylights and the back of my home is all windows, when the sun is shining in brightly - and, I have a strong light source inside my home - passersby are able to see movement inside and see my outline (when not standing directly in front of the window). They still cannot see details, like what I'm wearing or if I have rollers in my hair. However, when I'm standing directly in front of the window passersby cannot see me at all, despite any light inside my home during the day. Night time is a different story. It is dark outside and the light source is now inside the home so passersby can see everything! Either keep your lights off or invest in some blinds - you don't want to be one of those neighbours! When it comes to looking from inside-out I can see perfectly clearly during the day, although there is a slight reflection. The caveat is that it makes the interior of my home darker during the day (like a rainly day) as it filters the sunlight. The silver lining is that is prevents uv rays from damaging my furniture and keeps my home cooler than usual, reducing the need for AC. The clarity is also perfect at night when looking out. Because the interior windows have a mirror-like quality to them at night it produces a strong reflection so turning off interior lights is needed to see outside. With respect to installation, initial installation was tricky however with practice became seemless. I would not recommend installing alone, ask a friend or family member to help. Steps followed: 1) Lay film on the table and cut to size; 2)Take over to window; 3) One hold two top corners of film while other peels 50% of the backing off; 4) spray the window & outside of the film with soapy water (avoid plain water as soap makes it easier to smooth out the bubbles and avoid ripping the film. Use dove dish liquid dish soap); 5) person holding the film, place two corners of film in two top corners of window and hold while the other person carries out the next step; 6) starting at the top of the film, place scraper in middle and run it towards the right, pressing firmly to eliminate any bubbles/water under the film (don't worry about tiny bubbles, they will evaporate and disappear over time). Place scraper in middle again and run it towards the left; 7) repeat this as you work your way down the film; **Note** Be sure to continuously spray soapy mixture over film to ensure scraper slides effortlessly and you do not scratch the film. This will also allow you to press harder, eliminating bubbles and ensure smooth application. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this product if your main goal is to achieve privacy during the day, prevent harmfull uv rays from entering your home, or to keep your home cool of those hot summer days. Great product and very happy with the results. ... show more

  • Perfect DAYTIME privacy!! Perfect DAYTIME privacy!!
Size: 36in X 24ft
I noticed a LOT of reviews complain about the lack of NIGHTTIME privacy on here and it honestly made me laugh. 😂 Did yall not read the description?? It was mentioned several times that this is a DAYTIME privacy film for your windows. Anyways. This is PERFECT!! I love it! I’d give it more than 5 stars if I could. I needed a window film that would block nosy neighbors from looking in, but still allowing me to see outside. Bonus points for also keeping the outside heat OUTISDE. 👏🏼 This works perfectly! Not only does it block my nosy ass neighbor, but it offers a mirror for the wildlife to check themselves out lol Which is awesome. It was easy to install. Measure the inside of your windows first!! Then cut each piece needed for that window. (Leave an extra inch of film so it overlays on the edges so you can do a clean cut) Put a piece of tape in the top corners (do BOTH corners) like the instructions mention. It helps to get the two pieces separated and you can hold onto the tape while getting it sprayed down and put on the window. I had my kid help me and she held the film up while I sprayed it (don’t forget to spray the window first! I used baby shampoo mixed with water). Once you lay it against the glass it will automatically stick (and slightly move around). Use the tool to trim off the excess so you get a perfect fit. Then you push out all the air. You’re going to have to do this several times to make sure you get out ALL the air bubbles. And hopefully you washed your windows first! Before it completely dries, look at the window in a bunch of different angles to see if there is any bubbles left anywhere. If so push them out. Don’t see any? Move onto the next window. Easy peasy.. -Wash windows -Measure inside of windows -Cut pieces & leave an extra inch -Tape on top corners to separate & hold film -Spray window & then spray film -Place film on window -Trim film to fit -Squeeze out bubbles -Enjoy 😊 ... show more

  • Great, however learn from my $$$ mistakes! Great, however learn from my $$$ mistakes!
Size: 36in X 100ft
So I ordered the BDF NA05 Window Film Daytime Privacy and Sun Control Black (Very Dark) in Oct of 2022, but was too nervous to attempt it. WELL, there is a video on their website that is amazing! This is so easy to do, I did it by myself on 36x28 windows while my husband was at work! JUST TAKE YOUR TIME and follow the video. Mistake 1: did not read what was included, ordered a window tinting kit --- did not need it, they included ALL of the tools you need, except the spray bottle. Mistake 2: AGAIN, did not read all of the instructions, ordered the NA05 --- I have double-paned windows! This is not for double-paned windows - apparently, it traps the heat, or something, between the glass and can break the glass! OPPS! See photos! No my panes did not break, but you can see the temp difference! Mistake 3: Order 36x100 ft (because I want to do my entire house) of the S05 Mirrored style for double-paned windows. The numbers are similar, NA05, S05 - I thought it was the same color tint! I was worried about ordering the darker ones, I did not want darker windows, I LOVED the shade we had! THIS IS NOT THE CASE! The S05 is significantly lighter than the NA05. I am so bummed over this! I invested $250.00 and I am just not thrilled with the results! So overall - the product is super easy to install, and great quality - so much so I ordered $200 more - HOWEVER, the product number is misleading. YES, a "table" illustrates the shades, but the S03 appears extremely darker than what we had! The S03 would have matched the NA05. So my results - not very happy, just ehhh! Do I recommend it? I guess so, but I recommend getting a tester sheet before infesting a total of almost $300! NO, you could not tell it was going to be lighter before I cut it, this is MIRRORED! ... show more

  • Upgraded Life Quality Upgraded Life Quality
Size: 24in X 16ft
I thought the "very dark" that I purchased would be too dark, and it's October 20th, and this is a West facing window, so the sun isn't strong, but it isn't too dark at all! Plenty of light still comes through. The pictures I took don't represent what my eye sees, so I won't post them. The pictures don't show a big difference in the light coming through, and while there is a notable difference, there is plenty of light still coming through! (Northern California) The pictures do, however, show a notable decrease in the glare. And it's substantially more significant to the naked eye! Looking through the tinted window, and then the untinted, then back to the tinted window aggressively demonstrated the eye strain that comes from the glare! Removing the glare makes the view outside more appealing, and tames the look and feel inside the room. I never realized I was 'tolerating' such a harsh glare until I removed it! I was only going to put this stuff on the direct sun windows, but now I'm going to put them on all the windows. Worth every penny! I might use one level lighter tint on the other windows without direct sun, but I wouldn't bother going lighter (for my always sunny part of the globe). Plenty of light comes through. Experience tip: I anticipated installation would be a challenge because I didn't have a helper, and thought it would be easier to cut the film to the right size before putting it in the window, but I was wrong. I even used a rotary cutter and a gigantic steel carpenter square. I had to tape everything down so nothing moved as I cut it, and it was WORK! I lost one chunk of film to this learning curve, and the second one was fine and I hung it. It looked okay untill I did it differently. With the third cut, for the 2nd window, I lost my patience with pre-cutting and decided to cut with the razor while it was on the window. That one looks as if the window was tinted prior to being framed. In fact, it looks so good, I removed the first one to get the same flawless look as the second window. I'm not a perfectionist, and I'm not a talented crafter, but my window tint is perfection! It's kind of amazing, really! It was much easier than I thought it woukd be, but prepare your space, follow the instructions, read reviews to see the mistakes other people made so you can avoid them, *take your time*, and make sure there isn't any lint on the window because it will show! Others won't notice it, but you'll see the little squiggles every time (another good reason for me to re-do the first window). I think some of my ease of installation can be attributed to the gigantic scraper I had on hand. The edge is rounded but I used a paper towel under it to prevent scratches, and it helped me cut straight, too. I got it at harbor freight. You won't be sorry. Worth every penny! ... show more

  • Good price good product Good price good product

I replaced six windows and a sliding glass door recently. Living in the desert of the Southwest. Even if you get energy efficient windows, you truly need to tint them is my own personal belief. This helps cut down on the the amount of solar radiation that still passes through window also cuts down on the glare. The tent that I chose, it does have a mirror like reflectiveness, and therefore, during the day, I can open the windows right and people on the exterior of my house. Our unable to see in even if they press their face up to the window. I'd premeasured all of the need that I had for tint, with linear footage and uh, wit, and this roll matched, my needs almost precisely. I did have some leftover, which was fantastic. So that I was able to repair any, did I, it may have been messed up on. It was convenient that the the window tent roll did come with. Hey, squeegee thing device for 2 smoothing out the tent. Once you put it on the window, it also came with a razor knife. So that you could cut the window tint into length, and then when you got it to the window, you were able to then yeah. Trim it down to the size of the window. I did buy an additional window tinting kit. They had a few extra pieces that assisted in my ability to apply the window tint more effectively, but you could do it with what was supplied already. I'm very happy with t. Outcome of the window chin, I would recommend this brand for anyone else. It is what they call a static cling, but you do need to apply a soapy water to help in application. So that it can smooth it out once applied to the window. The nice feature of this is so long as you use enough of the soapy water you are able to adjust the tint and if need be pulled off the window and reapply without doing any damage to the tint. I do recommend if you plan on. Doing window tinting on your own to measure all of your windows length and width and try to buy window tint that matches the total linear length and get it as close to the width. Matching the width will help eliminate some of the problems that you will find when applying it. I had ordered this in the maximum with I needed for the sliding glass door therefore, I had an excessive amount of width when applying to the windows, making it a little awkward to work with. I did make a few mistakes and ran out of the length. But with all of the excess that I had remaining based off of trimming the width off, I was able to do my last window but I had to overlay. And try to match the edges. It wasn't pretty, but it's effective. It did work and down the road if I decide to correct it it's just one window but it's still does what I need it to do. I provided 3 images, one showing the difference that it makes with the window partly open so you can see how bright it is out. And how much the tint cuts down on the glare, the other 21 is showing a full windowpane done in one coating, the other showing the scrap pieces used to complete the window. ... show more

  • Spray that solution, a lot and frequently.
Size: 48in X 12ft
This thing works like magic. The bedroom with this on the windows are always cooler than the living room with "blackout" curtains. Not to mention, the sunlight hits the bedroom throughout the scorching hours of 11am ~3pm and the living room is still hotter. You can really notice the difference of how much heat passes during installation, and after just feels amazing. The only "downside" is that during the night, the windows become mirrors but see through from the outside. I only think this is a downside if you didn't do your research and bought this product only later to find out you only get privacy during the day. From the outside during the day though, it looks like our apartment room installed premium windows or something. It really looks amazing from the outside during the day, during the night, you can see inside with a very slight shade on the window. I normally don't keep my blinds/curtains open during the night other than our window where our cat loves peaking out of. So the biggest downside is my cat can't see outside unless we open the window for her. The installation isn't complicated, really just watched the video they provided. Some points I would say that is nice to know would be: 1. You technically don't need the two small pieces of tape to remove the lining, you can just brute force peel it by hand, just make sure the material and your hand is wet with the soapy solution before you peel by hand. 2. Best if you work don't work on a surface that generates static (fluffy carpets) because it'll attract too much pet fur or dust, causing that to get stuck between your window and application. 3. If you peel on and off multiple times for readjustment, the first few days of that window my be foggy but it'll cure and become clear. 4. You don't need perfect cuts on the edges for this to block heat. My edges are ragged, sometimes not even properly covering the window. The heat blocking still works perfectly and you won't notice the imperfection from outside (as long as it's not a big gap) and you end up forgetting you did a C+ job unless you look at the edges of your window ritually. 5. Trim the film as carefully, but as close as you can to the window size, the directions say 1inch but if you're a challenger, I would try to push for 0.5inch because the more extra film, the harder to cut. That's how I messed up my first application, had to trash it (had like 2~3inches of extra film bordered lol, big mistake) 6. The hardest part is cutting perfectly on the edges, they make it look easy in the video but it's probably only easy if you have amazingly crafted windows. My apartment windows have bumpy gaskets, making it hard to perfectly use the squeegee to hold and cut "straight". Straight isn't even a term to be used on my windows lol. 7. Soak the film as you peel the lining, don't peel the whole lining off and try to spray the soapy solution. Peel 10% off, spray, 30% spray 60% spray, 90% spray, 100% spray. Especially if your film is large, you don't want to peel and because the film comes curled, there's a higher chance it'll stick to itself on accident. Stickiness is not the issue, not spraying frequently and abundantly enough is the issue. That's about it from what I thought applying this. Definitely takes some dexterity or handiness, you have to be somewhat good with your hands, ESPECIALLY if you have janky windows. Less dexterity is probably needed if your windows are amazingly crafted and built. ... show more

  • Good for some uses but not good for what I needed it for. Good for some uses but not good for what I needed it for.
Size: 48in X 12ft
I gave 3 stars because this didn’t serve my purpose however it is a good product if you didn’t buy it for my reasons. Let’s talk Pros and Cons Pros : •Easy Installation - pro tip for unpealing backing - bite down on a corner with your teeth and grind your teeth back and forth until it comes off and stick your tongue in between film & backing and it’ll come right off. I do window tint on cars and wrap cars so this is a tip we use when working with film. Make sure you use soap and water and squeegee left and right. •Reduces heat and makes your home SOOOO much cooler... You still get natural light but it’s not making your home extremely hot. Let’s talk about how this film works... This film is GREAT for the day time. Why? Because all of the light is coming from the outside. It’s reflecting the light creating a mirror effect whenever the light source is. So outside in the day time, it’ll be a mirror reflection. Now what about ar nighy? Oh no 100% terrible. It offers no privacy. Why? because when you turn on the lights in your home it created a mirror reflection on the inside of the windows. So I can’t even see outside because all the light is in my house making it mirrored from the inside. If you walk outside and look inside, it’s just as if the windows are slightly tinted. Absolutely no mirror reflection on the outside at night because there is no light source outside... Now during the day time, while it is mirror reflective, if you put your head against the window you can see straight in and see everything. this is only really great for mirror reflection if you’re far away from the mirror. So during the day time this mirror is great. You get a nice mirror reflection, still get sunlight while keeping your house cool & it offers some privacy. At night time rhis doesn’t do anything & actually makes seeing out of the windows extremely difficult and in my opinion useless because I want to be able to see outside at night without seeing my bette home reflection. So again - this product is NOT for me bc I wanted NIGHT time privacy without having to have blinds shut 24/7. But for the day time this is good. It really jusr depends on your wants and needs for this product. In an apartment building up high, this would be perfect. I’ll post more pictures this weekend of what it looks like from the inside. ... show more

  • Pain in the butt to install, amazing when it's done
Size: 24in X 16ft
As others have mentioned, this is quite a pain to set up; unless you're way more thorough than I can be, you will probably wind up with air bubbles or creases that you can't get rid of. But if you're willing to live with that, this is a genuinely excellent product. I have to sit near an east-facing window for work, and this has made it FAR more tolerable. It gets way less hot in the morning, and I can raise my blinds much earlier than I previously could without blinding myself. When installing, I'd recommend cutting the piece you need, laying it completely flat on the floor, and using the tape trick they suggest to separate the backing from the adhesive side (I couldn't even tell originally that there WAS a backing because of how hard it was to separate). ... show more
