    • Easy to Install, Not Much Heat Reduction

I thought this film was easy to work with and install. I have previously applied static film, which was probably a good choice for a practice run, so certainly not a pro but have a little experience at least that I think helped. A couple big things for installing, there's no such thing as applying too much of the water/soap mix. The more you add, the better from what I have found. A big, big thing too is really make sure your window surfaces are clean. I clean them, then take a scraper lightly scrape off anything that didn't come up with general cleaning. I use an air can to get any dirt out of the edges because the soap mix will drag any loose dirt hiding in there. As far as the looks, I really like it. I was a little worried it might make it look too dark outside from the inside, but not at all. It cuts down the light a bit, but not much and I actually like that it is a little dimmer. It's perfectly clear to see out, no blurriness or anything like some other films can give. Big thing is you can't really see in when you're outside. I work from home with a window right on the sidewalk leading up to our front door, and hated when people would come up and if they glanced in as they passed, they could see me, so I felt awkward not answering because they knew I was in there haha. With this on, you have to get right up to the window and peek in to see, so someone just walking past can't see anymore. Obviously at night when the light is on, that's a different story, they can see in just fine, but I never could figure out why people expect that to be any different and complain about it. As far as heat reduction, I would say there's very little if anything, so that was disappointing. I live in Arizona and the morning sun beats in on the room I work from. By 10am it's a hotbox in there, and this didn't reduce it at all. With films that do cut down on heat, usually the window itself will be really hot, since it's basically catching all the heat, but away from the window really won't be. Not with this, I can feel the heat if I stand where the sun is coming in even a few feet away from the window, so I don't think it knocks it down at all. But, I got it more for the privacy, and that I am happy with. And satisfied with the ease of installation. ... show more

This window tint was a very good product. Once we installed the film there was a definite difference in the darkness of the room. This should help cut down on our electric bills, hopefully. Installation was fairly easy; the only challenge was getting out the wrinkles and bubbles from it. Not all of the bubbles came out, but was acceptable. We are able to see out of the window with the film on and can not see in from the outside during the daytime. ... show more

Works well to reduce light and heat transmission. Darkens the window, providing modest privacy. Pets are a little sad they don’t get the warm of laying in the sun anymore. But the downside is all the blocked heat is absorbed by the film. The inside of the window is now 120 degrees while the outside is cool to the touch. It’s not even 90 outside. But the film now functions like a heater, raising the surrounding temperatures. So energy savings might be a wash. ... show more

Product was easy to install as long as you make sure that your windows are very clean and that you are using enough soapy water solution. We live in Florida with east/west facing windows so we get the incredibly hot morning sun and even hotter afternoon sun. This film has cut down on the heat a great deal. We still use blackout shades and curtains, but putting this film on has made a huge impact. It's now tolerable in the afternoon while trying to work. This was the 3rd film we've tried. ... show more

This film was easy to install and does a great job at blocking the heat and sun from our west facing bathroom windows. The outside view is also great at giving privacy. If you have animals, just be sure not to leave the film laying out of the box. We had a few hairs stuck under the film on the second window. ... show more

    • Not 100% perfect, but definitely satisfied

I covered a sliding glass door, two larger bay windows, and a smaller bedroom window (with plenty of tent to spare). The installation was very straightforward and easy. Take your time, measure twice, cut once. Make sure you completely wash the window before application. I also took a metal scraper and lightly went over the entire surface of my window. You’d be surprised of the little dust particles and specs that you may not see, but can cause texture and bubbles in the film. My film and packaging came undamaged and tightly rolled. As with any tint film, you must be delicate because it will crease easy, but that is not a testament to the film, it’s a testament to the application. If you’re patient and careful, you can really avoid creases, bubbles, and blemishes. If you are inexperienced or new to tint application, I definitely suggest watching a couple videos on best practices for installation. I would also suggest having all your materials very handy and working in a wide open space. Naturally, the larger the piece of film you’re working with, the more potential for the film to stick to itself, attract dust in the room, etc. I did not give this a five for a couple very minors reasons. First is, when you unroll the tint, the little plastic endcap holders in the box weren’t secured to the box and slid around a bit as I unrolled it (like pulling paper towels off a roll). I would really love for those endcaps to be secured to the box to make unrolling the tint easier. Second, while the tint was much darker than the original plain glass, I would have liked it to be even a little darker. Perhaps that is my mistake for not buying a darker shade, but the expectation based on the pictures was slightly off. The tint definitely reduces heat transmission though. I’m in Arizona and even 10° Makes a difference. With an infrared thermometer, this was 10° - 14° cooler than the untinted glass. All in all, I would definitely buy this product again! ... show more
