  • Easy Installation and Great Results
Size: 24in X 24ft
The BDF NA05 Daytime Privacy and Heat Rejection Window Film does a fantastic job of providing daytime privacy while noticeably reducing heat from the sun on my southern exposure windows. The film is very dark, which works well in blocking out sunlight, and it's great for keeping my rooms cool without the need for heavy blinds or curtains. I applied it to the windows in my den, and the room is much cooler and darker, which works well for video calls. The Kit has a small squeegee, a razor knife, and a small squirt bottle. Do yourself a favor and purchase straight-edge razor blades, a large squirt bottle, and a bigger squeegee. Use the razor knife to cut your tint from the roll (I broke the blades after every four cuts to keep from tearing tint), and use the straight-edge razors to trim tint when applying to windows. It's essential to take your time to avoid bubbles. Use your squeegee and soap and water mixture to work out bubbles. The results are worth it once the tint is in place and dried. Overall, it is a solid product that serves its purpose well! ... show more

  • Nice quality. Easy install
Size: 24in X 24ft
There is a warning with this product NOT FOR DUAL PANE WINDOWS. I think most windows in the country are double or triple paned. My guess is this film causes excessive heat to build up between the panes of glass that can shatter the glass. I placed it on my dual paned windows anyway. They only get direct morning sun. I'll update my post if they crack. Otherwise, I love this film! I've purchased window film from HD that was more expensive and flimsy. This is quick and easy to install. All the tools you need come in the box except for a spray water bottle and scissors. Clean the window Cut the film to measure, leaving an inch or two to play with Spray the glass liberally with soapy water Use two pieces of tape to separate the film from the backing Place the film on the window and use the soft side of the scraper to smooth and push bubbles towards an edge Finally, use the razor to trim the excess film It takes less than 5 minutes a window! This particular film is very dark. The sunlight from one family room window made it nearly impossible to see the television. This film fixed the problem. I had some extra I used on the sidelight by the front door. I have a window covering on it inside but this film looks better than the back of the window coverings. It darkens the entry hall but keeps in cooler inside. I should’ve installed it years ago. ... show more

  • Looks good, Read the details! Don't be like me!
Size: 36in X 12ft
This 'review' is more of a "don't ignore the product description/details!" I bought this knowing that I have (not so)modern dual pane windows. I did, thinking that due to my windows being almost 30 years old, this could help. It in fact did not help and only made things worse. I'm not going to knock the rating, so keep reading. The installation was cake and the instructions are great. I just happen to have a large felt covered application tool but this comes with one and a small knife. 2x bonus!! If you're not making a huge mess with the water/soap mixture, you're not using enough. It's just water/soap, use a lot of it when spraying the window / film, it will help! Trim it close to the sill when you're done. It looks great! Here comes my warning. My room go hotter when I installed the NA05 version. By quite a bit. I tested two windows, one that I did the film on and one that I didn't The filmed version, measured ~130F and the non measured at ~119F. THIS IS NOT THE FILMS FAULT!!! It's entirely my poor usage of the product. I live in Indiana and my home office window (and others in the house) face the Southwest. So, this time of year, when the sun is a bit lower, my windows get slammed for 13 hours a day in the late summer. I should have done my research beforehand but live and learn. Ultimately, if you're in the same boat as I, you need to look for something different. The manufacturer knows more than us, lol. Source - Department of Energy - "UV ≠ heat. UV is a small slice of the solar spectrum. Most solar heat is from visible + near-infrared. “UVR 99%” protects furnishings/skin, but doesn’t by itself keep interiors cool. What matters for heat is the overall solar heat gain, captured by metrics like SHGC/TSER (and the “inward-flowing fraction” of absorbed energy). Dark absorptive films lower transmittance but raise glass temperature; some of that absorbed energy flows inward." Source - This product - It’s a black “NA05” privacy film (≈5% VLT) and the Amazon listing explicitly says “NOT RECOMMENDED for DUAL PANE WINDOWS.” On double-pane/IGU windows, dark absorptive films run the glass hotter, which can drive heat inward and even risk thermal-stress issues. ... show more

  • Follow the instructions and take your time
Size: 48in X 12ft
Clear instructions and functions as described. I'm not sure it's as effective against heat as they say, but it certainly helps. I was able to apply it to the smaller windows (24"x48") by myself, but needed help to do the larger ones (46"x48"). It settled in nicely on the windows - even the spot where we got the cling stuck to itself and had to force apart. It's very durable and so far, no lifting despite the extreme heat to that window (it's been on about 3 weeks). I like the privacy it gives during the day, too. It definitely darkens the room, but we were living with the curtains closed all the time anyway. Use plenty of soapy water - you really can't overspray. I thoroughly sprayed the window and the film. Then hung it and spent a fair amount of time working out the water and air with the squeegee provided, trimming edges, and using the squeegee again. It actually is not hard to apply, just need to take your time and be thorough... follow the instructions! ... show more
