  • Dark privacy film that delivers on heat rejection and daytime secrecy — plan for the darkness! Dark privacy film that delivers on heat rejection and daytime secrecy — plan for the darkness!
Size: 36in X 12ft
I installed the BDF NA05 Natural Black 5 window film on two south-facing windows in my home office and living room. This is a true 5% VLT (visible light transmission) film, meaning it’s very dark — almost like there are heavy rain showers outside during a full sunny day. From the outside during daylight hours, you get excellent one-way privacy; people walking by or neighbors can’t see in at all. It gives the windows a sleek, classic black-tinted look that complements modern homes. The sun control performance is impressive. It rejects a good amount of heat (claimed up to 55%), noticeably reducing glare and keeping the rooms cooler in Texas summer. Application was straightforward with the standard soapy water method — the film is flexible and cuts cleanly, though it does require patience to avoid bubbles and creases. Overall, if you’re looking for maximum daytime privacy and sun/heat control and don’t mind darker interiors, this BDF NA05 Natural Black 5 is one of the better affordable options out there. It does exactly what it promises for privacy-focused applications. ... show more

  • Easy Installation and Great Results
Size: 24in X 24ft
The BDF NA05 Daytime Privacy and Heat Rejection Window Film does a fantastic job of providing daytime privacy while noticeably reducing heat from the sun on my southern exposure windows. The film is very dark, which works well in blocking out sunlight, and it's great for keeping my rooms cool without the need for heavy blinds or curtains. I applied it to the windows in my den, and the room is much cooler and darker, which works well for video calls. The Kit has a small squeegee, a razor knife, and a small squirt bottle. Do yourself a favor and purchase straight-edge razor blades, a large squirt bottle, and a bigger squeegee. Use the razor knife to cut your tint from the roll (I broke the blades after every four cuts to keep from tearing tint), and use the straight-edge razors to trim tint when applying to windows. It's essential to take your time to avoid bubbles. Use your squeegee and soap and water mixture to work out bubbles. The results are worth it once the tint is in place and dried. Overall, it is a solid product that serves its purpose well! ... show more

  • Does what it says Does what it says
Size: 36in X 24ft
Works pretty well. I used it on my garage doors to help keep the garage cool. Went with the darkest color. It really works well. Unfortunately it’s really dark in my garage unless you have the lights on, but well worth the temperature difference. Fairly easy to install, just cut the pieces over sized then use the razor that comes with the time to trim to make exact size of frame. You can’t pre cut due to inconsistency’s in the window frames. ... show more

  • GREAT PRODUCT, READ DESCRIPTION - THIS IS NOT FOR DOUBLE PANED WINDOWS! GREAT PRODUCT, READ DESCRIPTION - THIS IS NOT FOR DOUBLE PANED WINDOWS!
Size: 36in X 12ft
I HOPE THIS SAVES SOMEONE ELSE FROM MAKING THE SAME MISTAKE! I ordered the BDF NA05 Window Film Daytime Privacy and Sun Control Black (Very Dark) in Oct of 2022, but was too nervous to attempt it. WELL, there is a video on their website that is amazing! This is so easy to do, I did it by myself on 36x28 windows while my husband was at work! JUST TAKE YOUR TIME and follow the video. Mistake 1: did not read what was included, ordered a window tinting kit --- did not need it, they included ALL of the tools you need, except the spray bottle. Mistake 2: AGAIN, I did not read all of the instructions, and ordered the NA05 --- I have double-paned windows! This is not for double-paned windows - apparently, it traps the heat, or something, between the glass and can break the glass! OPPS! See photos! No, my panes did not break, but you can see the temp difference! Mistake 3: Order 36x100 ft (because I want to do my entire house) of the S05 Mirrored style for double-paned windows. The numbers are similar, NA05, S05 - I thought it was the same color tint! I was worried about ordering the darker ones, I did not want darker windows, I LOVED the shade we had! THIS IS NOT THE CASE! The S05 is significantly lighter than the NA05. I am so bummed over this! I invested $250.00 and I am just not thrilled with the results! So overall - the product is super easy to install, and great quality - so much so I ordered $200 more - HOWEVER, the product number is misleading. YES, a "table" illustrates the shades, but the S03 appears extremely darker than what we had! The S03 would have matched the NA05. So my results - not very happy, just ehhh! Do I recommend it? I guess so, but I recommend getting a tester sheet before infesting a total of almost $300! NO, you could not tell it was going to be lighter before I cut it, this is MIRRORED! ... show more

  • Nice quality. Easy install Nice quality. Easy install
Size: 24in X 24ft
There is a warning with this product NOT FOR DUAL PANE WINDOWS. I think most windows in the country are double or triple paned. My guess is this film causes excessive heat to build up between the panes of glass that can shatter the glass. I placed it on my dual paned windows anyway. They only get direct morning sun. I'll update my post if they crack. Otherwise, I love this film! I've purchased window film from HD that was more expensive and flimsy. This is quick and easy to install. All the tools you need come in the box except for a spray water bottle and scissors. Clean the window Cut the film to measure, leaving an inch or two to play with Spray the glass liberally with soapy water Use two pieces of tape to separate the film from the backing Place the film on the window and use the soft side of the scraper to smooth and push bubbles towards an edge Finally, use the razor to trim the excess film It takes less than 5 minutes a window! This particular film is very dark. The sunlight from one family room window made it nearly impossible to see the television. This film fixed the problem. I had some extra I used on the sidelight by the front door. I have a window covering on it inside but this film looks better than the back of the window coverings. It darkens the entry hall but keeps in cooler inside. I should’ve installed it years ago. ... show more

  • Highly recommend
Size: 36in X 12ft
SOOO much better than the previous product from Volcanics that I tried. This product has a darker finish, a LOT easier to apply, and it was only a few dollars more. I highly recommend this product. Just make sure to read the instructions on the box and wet the film and window a lot for easy adjustment when you first stick it to the window. ... show more

  • So far so good So far so good
Size: 48in X 24ft
We live in a condo complex with lots of common areas. Our backyard is one of them. We had very little privacy, other than the metal fence we installed, so we wanted to tint our windows. We also live in the Phoenix, Arizona area where it gets SUPER HOT in the summertime. Anything we can do to minimize heat getting into our home is well worth the expense because it saves us money on our electric bills. So far, we're very happy with this film. We can see out just fine. The film does not distort our view at all like we experienced with cheaper film in the past. It actually enhances the view, I think. Also, it makes our room MUCH darker (we used the darkest color) during the day. And, although it's not real hot in Arizona yet this year, we can tell that it is definitely going to help come summertime. Installing this on our extra wide sliding glass doors was easier on the second one than the first. We must not have used enough water on the first try because we ended up with wrinkles and some bubbles. Kind of disappointing since that is the side that we go in and out of. After putting it off for about a month, we finally did the other side this past weekend. We used TONS (!!!) of water this time (I'm pretty sure we emptied a 12 oz spray bottle at least twice!). Also, it was very windy the day we did the second side, so we couldn't lay it out on a rug outside to cut it to length like we did the first time. Because our condo is so small, we didn't have room to roll it out inside, so we just left it on the roll and cut the length off once we had most of the bubbles out of it. That worked fine for us. The second side looks nearly PERFECT! I highly recommend watching the instructional videos here on Amazon... they really DO help. And, start with that T (across the top, then down the middle) that they recommend. That makes application so much easier. And, since we didn't cut it to length and it was coming right off the roll (the second time), we peeled the clear liner piece off as we smoothed it out (instead of removing the entire clear liner like we did the first time). That allowed us to pull any potential wrinkles out without compromising the entire piece. Just TAKE YOUR TIME, take deep breaths, use LOTS OF WATER, and you'll do fine. We highly recommend this window film. ... show more
