Description

If your cat has had fleas, there’s a chance they have tapeworms too. Tapeworm segments look similar to grains of white rice and are visible when stuck in your cat’s hair under the tail or by the back legs or in their poop. It’s not always obvious that your cat has tapeworms, so the best way to identify a problem is through an exam performed by a veterinarian. Use Bayer Tapeworm Dewormer for Cats to treat your pet. Cats' everyday grooming behavior puts them at risk for ingesting fleas, which means a risk of tapeworms. Fleas can carry immature tapeworms, and they are the main source of tapeworm infections in cats. A cat that has been infested by fleas may develop tapeworms. Outdoor cats that hunt small rodents may be at risk of infection from tapeworms as well. In addition to treating with tapeworm dewormer, take steps to control fleas and rodents on the premises in order to prevent reinfection; Otherwise another round of the tapeworm dewormer for cats will be necessary. This is especially true in cases of tapeworms transmitted by fleas where reinfection is almost certain to occur if fleas are not removed from the animal and its environment. Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism. Keep away from children.

  • Impressive!
I crushed a tablet and mixed it with my cat's treat. My cat wouldn't take it. So I crushed another tablet, mixed it in a little bit of water and gave the mixture via a small feeding syringe in which my cat spit out half of it. Roughly six hours later I saw tapeworm being expelled through bowel movement in the litter box and out of my cat! After that I saw no more evidence of tapeworm. ... show more

  • Product worked for my cats!
Easy to use. No foul odor of the medication. Fleas/worms no longer exist and are under control. The quality of the medication was very fast reacting within 24-48 hours I seen little to no worms and by 72hours the worms were completely gone! My cats had no negative reaction to the medication.

  • tough to administer with stubborn cats, but works
I’ve had to come back to this twice so far. It can be difficult to administer. The first time I tried to break it into small pieces and get my cat to swallow it. No go, kept spitting it out. So I mixed it in a bit of water and shot it into their mouths. I was afraid I lost too much of the dose between the cat spitting pieces out, and losing some of it when I tried to crush it, but it still worked fine. Same the second time around. This time I was careful to crush it into a powder and put it in my cat’s wet food. She ate a bit but wouldn’t touch it as soon as she realized there was medicine in it. Even so, it was still enough to get rid of the worms within a day. I think a liquid dewormer would be easier to mix with, but it’s hard to find a trustworthy looking one that’s specific for tapeworms. So ... show more

  • Worked Quickly and Gave Me Peace of Mind!
Elanco Tapeworm Dewormer worked exactly as promised! It was easy to give and cleared up the issue fast—within just a day or two, I could see a noticeable difference. My pet is back to their happy, healthy self. I really appreciate having an effective over-the-counter option that’s trusted and vet-recommended. Definitely keeping this on hand just in case in the future. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • It works!
This definitely worked! My neighbor's cat hangs out at my place most of the time, and although I notified her people that she had tapeworms, it didn't appear that they ever did anything about it. I couldn't take her to the vet myself, so I tried giving her diatomaceous earth for MONTHS (some say that will kill tapeworms)-- didn't do a thing. Fortunately, a vet took pity on me and told me to look for this medication and at what strength. This cat is just about 10 pounds; I gave her 1 tablet and that did the trick. The biggest issue most people are going to have is getting the cat to eat it. Fortunately, this cat swallows her kibble whole, so I just broke the tablet up into a few pieces and mixed it into some canned food (which is a treat for her) and she sucked it down no problem. About two months later, she had worms again, so I gave her a second dose. That was about four months ago now, and she's still worm-free. ... show more

  • A must have if you have a licker
I have a cat obsessed with licking, he gets worms A LOT. I really should buy this in bulk as I have to use it every 10 days for like a month to fully get rid of the worms. IT IS effective.. I just have a little man who will keep reinfecting himself so I have to keep him fully dosed til there is no chance for him to reinfect himself. That I have seen there is no taste or smell and most of my cats take it well as long as I dont try to hide it or trick them. its a tiny pill so its easy to just put in the back of their mouth and get them to swallow. I have also not noticed any side effects what so ever. for someone who has a lot of cats and doesnt want to pay 80 dollars a shot for vet wormer every time I turn around.. this is a great great product I keep it on hand at all times. ... show more

  • The same stuff your vet will prescribe
I have six cats, and despite keeping them strictly indoors every few years or so they get fleas somehow. And along with fleas come tapeworms, which are so disgusting. Luckily this medication is sold OTC and is the exact same effective ingredient as what your vet will prescribe for tapeworms. This is actual medicine, not a scam like the homeopathic products. It works pretty much immediately. Depending on the cat, I've administered it in several ways - the tablets fit inside pill pockets, which is probably the easiest way to do. But if your cats are picky or clever, you can also grind it up into a powder and mix in with wet food. For the most stubborn, you can mix the powder with milk and give it to them orally with a syringe. All three have resulted in successful treatment. Note that this product works for tapeworm ONLY. Please if you are unsure what kind of worms your cat has, take them to the vet before attempting self medicate. Other types of worms do not respond to this medicine and are more harmful to your cat. ... show more

  • Great product
Used this for all 3 of my cats and so far it seems to have worked. Not seeing any more disgusting worms in their poop.
