  • Beautiful four piece dining table set
Style: Dining Set
Lovely colour, beautiful wood that seems high quality. I love the angles of the seats and they are so comfortable. Table is large enough to host 4-5 people for dinner. Great size for our NY apartment. The only thing that detracts from the whole set is the chairs are so hard to put together and without a power drill handscrewing them seemed impossible - not to mention getting them in perfect symmetry. Took a few days to build the courage to tackle them - no pre-made holes either meaning everything took brut force, and the tools they supplied to assist were hopeless. ... show more

  • Horrible Pricing Practices Hobble a Decent Product.
Style: Dining Set
You know, I honestly planned to leave a favorable review for this product. On the whole, it's a nice set. It's small and built from less expensive and undoubtedly less hard-wearing materials, but all the pieces assemble easily, the finished dinette looks nice and I don't have need for a heavy duty dining room as I live alone and often take my meals on the sofa while watching TV anyway. Unfortunately, I have to leave this lousy review because I have never been so disgusted with pricing for an item in all my life. Initially, I ran across this dinette doing a search on Mayfair. But because I've had such success in the past with getting better value for money when purchasing from Amazon, I naturally returned here to see if it was offered at a lower price. Nope, the whole set was priced at $370 -- same as on Mayfair -- but here it came with Prime shipping. Score, I thought! And I decided to place my order just a couple of days later such that the delivery would arrive on a Friday and I could put everything together over the weekend. To my surprise when I logged on later in the week to place the order, the price tag had skyrocketed to nearly $500! So I just dropped the set back into my Wish List and began a new search for something a little closer to the figure I'd planned to pay not quite 4 days before. Having struck out in finding a set as nice looking as this one below $500 during the week that followed, I came back to it on Amazon convinced that I would just bite the bullet and shell out the extra bucks. Lo and behold, that day I found that the price had plummeted again to just under $400. I became so perplexed by this that I actually set a daily alarm to remind me to log in and track the item's pricing over the course of the next several days. One day I checked in to find the price tag right at $370 again. Another 2-3 days after that, it was reduced still further to $330. Having seen the set sitting at $330 for a few days in a row, I finally wagered that I needed to place my order before the digits rose again. I did, but I remained leery and continued my practice of looking the listing up just about every 24 hours to see if it moved. Wouldn't you know it: I got a text alert saying my shipment had been delivered just as I opened up the Amazon iPhone app and learned that the price had fallen yet again -- this time to $300. So I called Amazon customer service and a young lady happily credited the difference back to me. I should have seen it as telling that the customer service rep I spoke with to get my credit explicitly cautioned me that a pricing adjustment could only be issued once per order, but I didn't. I was too busy being happy that I didn't have to feel screwed over by my purchase. For the record, I stayed happy for exactly one week. As you've probably already guessed, I logged onto Amazon just minutes ago. And as the home page went through its usual paces of recommending stuff to me based on previous purchases, similarities to items in my Wish List, etc., I caught a glimpse of this set yet again... reduced to $270. That's when I got that sad trombone feeling one gets when a happy customer experience turns to complete sh*t. So I say with as much bitter sarcasm as anyone ever has: "Thanks, Amazon." And to the reader, I say with equal sincerity: buy the damn thing if you want. But you're a fool to buy it here -- not because of the price but because of the principle. Given that Amazon seems to lack any, I'll probably let my Prime membership lapse when renewal time rolls around again in another month or so. ... show more

  • Wee But Cute!
Style: Dining Set
This table and chairs is so cute! It’s a little smaller than I realized, which is okay for us because our dining room is a smaller space. I love the mid-century style. It’s sleek and modern and retro and warm all at once. Especially for the relatively low price, so far I feel like we got our money’s worth. Notes on assembly, as I read some people encountered some problems: you need to make sure you’re crossing the pieces over on themselves the right way when assembling the chairs. If you do it backwards, the bases will be too wide, and nothing will line up. Also, make sure you’re putting the backs on right side up. The flat side of the back should be at the top, with the larger, curved section at the bottom. If you do it upside down, the holes won’t line up. Also, you have to drill your own holes when attaching the seats. Just make sure you’ve lined it up before you drill. The set feels a little lighter-duty. I wouldn’t recommend to a family with young kids or to those who are a little rougher on their furniture. ... show more

  • Highly Recommend!
Style: Dining Set
I read all the reviews for this item before I purchased. I had the expectation that it may come damaged or ship poorly, but I assure this was NOT the case for me. I am a 24 year-old female and I was able to put this together on my own in about 2 hours. It was pretty easy. I had one minor scratch/imperfection on one chair leg, but its not noticeable and doesn't bother me in the slightest. The set is very sturdy and simply STUNNING. I am in love. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Chairs are poorly designed
Style: Dining Set
Never purchase a piece of furniture that is meant to be use multiple times a day that only offers a 30 return/ warranty on it. I haven't had this item for a year yet and my chair is busted. The table is pretty sturdy. The chairs are not as sturdy, the holes do not line up and I was only able to put one screw in on each side. The look of the table and they hardness of the table top is pretty hard, dropped things and it and doesn't leave any damage. ... show more

  • It's pretty, but it falls apart
Style: Dining Set
It's gorgeous, but... 1. The chairs started falling apart after a few weeks 2. The cushions are hard and sitting on them for long periods of time can be uncomfortable 3. The table wobbles and creaks 4. Every few weeks, a screw will fall out from the chairs, so you will have to glue it in 5. It is easily damaged during shipping and getting it exchanged is a huge hassle It's very easy to assemble, the size is great and if you never plan on using it, it might be the right choice for you. Personally, I wish I had saved up for the real deal or just bought a real wood set from IKEA. ... show more

  • Designed well, assembled well, priced well.
Style: Dining Set
Looks like they addressed packaging issues. Item arrived 2 days prior than expected with box within box and styrofoam to limit damage. No stain issues. Unpackaged, inventoried, assemblage in 1 hr, 15 min taking my time. You need #2 Phillips head screwdriver, a soft hammer (rubber mallet used). Directions are easy to follow (pictures), but you need to know why you're using a hammer when it's not displayed in the picture (Use it to set screws in place prior to tightening to a snug fit). A lot of damage can occur by over tightening. Other than that, I'm happy with the purchase. ... show more

  • Go thrifting for a sturdy, well-loved set instead
Style: Dining Set
The set is wobbly. Cheaply made. Should’ve known, you get what you pay for. I’ve had the set 13 months and one of the chairs completely collapsed from under me. Just get one from the thrift store.
