They are very bright for being battery powered. Easy to install and operate. I just wish there was a sensitivity control so they don't always come on when a car goes up our semi busy street. Since D alkaline batteries aren't cheap, I also hope I won't be spending a fortune on using these as they discharge quickly. Time will tell. I mounted this light on a pole inside front of some very big hemlock trees to conceal it from view in an area adjacent to my house that is unlighted. I was very happy to see that it did not pick up motion from the trees, only when I walked near it.     • Security lighting even if there's a power outage.
One very cool aspect of a battery powered light is that even during a power outage your property still has security lighting. Then there's the very simple installation process since there's no wiring required which really makes this device an appealing option. Please use rechargeable batteries. Do they cost a little more initially sure, but if the device lasts for a long time then you're probably spending more on "disposable" batteries. I have it located above a door that leads to the backyard where the motion sensing ability, and light coverage is most concentrated and effective since there is a wall blocking one side. Positioning each light in the direction you want is also easy to accomplish, but apparently they forgot the on/off switch lol. It's starting off pretty bright, so I think it will still provide adequate illumination as the batteries get low. If you have a location that doesn't get enough sunlight for a solar panel, and you don't want to mess with wiring then this light is a very good option. ... show more

This light works great and is very bright just as promised. To install it you need to secure the mount then add the motion sensor light on top. This light is perfect to illuminate a driveway or backyard and you can see clearly. The motion sensor is on point and picks up all activity from 30 feet as described. However, this light runs on 4 D batteries so you will need to replace these about every few months which is a downside, but it works well. It doesnโ€™t run on electricity either so that is a plus. I think the light is great, but you will need to replace the batteries often. ... show more

Easy to set up lights. The brightnesses is very nice. The range of the motion detector is decent. It makes it a lot easier to light the path and see where we step going to our car when going to work early morning.

As I continue to increase lighting coverage of my home, I eventually turned by attention to the exterior. I performed a soft installation, zip tying the mount to a nearby structure, and pointed the sensor and the lights at my door One thing I like about this light is there are no obvious gaps for water ingest, unlike some lights that are only water resistant if installed upright. Battery power is not energy efficient at all, but the light can be deployed rapidly if there is no need to mess with electrical systems. Water resistance for the battery bay is achieved by a lid with a rubber seal, held in place by 4 flathead screws. IP65 is not rated for water immersion, just water jets. The battery compartment and lid are well labeled in terms of polarity, although the terminals are quite powerful. To tighten the lid, I really had to push down on the lid while simultaneously inserting and rotating the screws. I bought 2x $1.25 2 packs of D cell batteries to power this light, I wonder if powerful springs will accelerate leakage of the batteries. Perhaps for the sake of water resistance, the light has no switches or controls whatsoever. The 1 mode of night time only motion activation makes sense and suits my needs. I had no issues of latency, and the addition of an exterior spotlight really made it easier for me to insert my keys without fumbling in the dark! ... show more
