They look to be good strings and quality materials and manufacturing. Time will tell as I still have a few miles left on the existing strings that came with the bass. It was new in the fall and bass strings can last a while. At least a lot longer than six string guitar strings. The box looked like someone sat on them. But they are bass guitar strings and no harm done. The strings themselves came in inner sealed packaging. Protected from moisture that's how they will stay until I need to open them. I'm not sure if they will even fit. My Ibanez has a 24" neck which requires longer strings. The length or class type of these strings was not posted or on the package. Look at that price. Now, look at the price everyone else charges for 5-string bass strings. Yep. Overall they sound pretty good, but the low string sounds a bit dull. Small price to pay for something this cheap. If you just need some strings on your bass, this is a perfect deal.

I am very happy with these--the price is what you should pay for generic strings, and the gauges for a 5 string set are good for me (the E string is just a little lighter than some other sets--a beginner won't notice any difference but I like the balance with the A and D strings, which sometimes struggle to compete with the heavy E string. The B string is of course massive and has a fat sound that brings another level of bassiness.) The strings are sealed, but oddly they have punched a perfect little circle at the top corner of the package so the seal is not airtight. Be aware if you plan on stuffing these in a gig bag for a year before use. You could probably reseal with some tape if desired. I wish they had just left the seal intact though! They fit nicely on my Music Man 5 stringer. It's a toss up of which I would choose between these and the Musician's Gear 5 string set, very comparable.

My son broke a string on his bass, so I put these strings to work on his P-Bass upon receiving them. The first downside is that they are not flatwound strings. The description appears to have been changed since I placed the order, so it no longer reflects that. The strings felt decent to play, but they have the feel of cheaper strings. I think they would be good for a beginner, or for a practice bass, especially for the price.

I see the product page has fixed this but when I got it, they specifically stated that this is a flat wound. As you can see from my photo, it's not flat. For what it is though, it's a fantastic price... I'm sure this will be a bargain for whoever needs regular wound strings.
