There are so many machines to choose from and this is on the higher end of our budget but we decided to splurge and treat ourselves. The color is beautiful. We were deciding between black or blue but went with blue for a pop of color in our kitchen. This blue is a dark blue in matte finish. Everything was nicely packed and we started practicing pulling the perfect espresso shots on this right away. We make 2 drinks daily ever since we got it. So far it’s been great. Easy to use and clean. There are many videos that teach you how to use it so do not be overwhelmed or discouraged. You will get the hang of it after making a couple drinks. ... show more

Top notch machine! Bought as a gift for our daughter and son-in-law. Have had it for a year and a half and still comment on how much they love it and how well it works. They do mention that they follow the recommended cleaning intervals and feel this is why it continues to work so well.

** Updated review**....InitialIy I was very pleased with the service that I received from Breville. After receiving a defective product, they said that they would send me a shipping box and return label to return the product so they could either fix/repair it. Well after not receiving a box for a few weeks I called back. They showed it delivered. When I verified the address, they had left off the unit #. So no clue where it was delivered, but I never received it. When I explained this, the young lady said that since it was delivered, they couldn't send another one. Even though they are the ones who did not put my complete address. After going back and forth with her, she said that she would have to send it up to a different department to get authorization on it, and she would call me back once she heard back. After a few weeks, no call back. I called again, and the young lady said that she would get one ordered, and still no box delivered. Still trying to get this resolved after 3 months, but not holding my breath. This is the LAST time I will ever buy anything from Breville!!! They obviously don't honor what they say, and now I am stuck with this very expensive machine that makes lukewarm coffee. Very frustrating!!! I will admit, I am a totally novice when it comes to espresso machines. Years ago I had a friend who had a Breville and absolutely raved about it. I always had it in my mind that I wanted one, but the price was more than I wanted to spend. Well a couple of months ago I got a pretty nice bonus from work, and then they a good price for Black Friday, so I got it. I am super impressed by the looks and how easy it is. I have had some issues with the machine itself. It wasn't heating up very well at all. I wasn't sure exactly how hot it needed to be, so did a little research. Found out an espresso should be close to 100 degrees. I bought me a thermometer so I could test it, and it is only about 59 degrees. I contacted Breville and was very pleased with the service I got. They are sending a package for me to return so they can either fix the issue, or replace it with a new one. Maybe a little inconvenient, but I am just glad it will get fixed. I purchased this machine in March after having it in my “saved for later” cart for over a year. (We all know how that saved for later cart holds things from the last 5 years!) I’ve used this espresso machine almost everyday since I got it and I gotta say, I love it. It’s pretty, fits under my cabinet. I can have an Americano in under 3 minutes! I haven’t been to Starby’s since I bought this machine and that says a lot bc I live next door to Stbks. The only complaint I have is it is a little loud, making it near impossible to make coffee in the morning without waking everyone up. But hey, if I’m up, they can get up too. ... show more

    • Solid Upgrade With One Weak Spot

I purchased the Breville Barista Touch last year as an upgrade from the Bambino, and I’ve been using it daily—at least three times a day—ever since. Overall, it’s a solid machine with a lot to like. It heats up quickly, is easy to operate, and the touchscreen interface makes dialing in drinks simple. The steam wand is a big step up from the Bambino and produces great microfoam for latte art. However, the built-in grinder is the one weak spot. It isn’t very consistent and has some retention issues, which makes it harder to get a reliable espresso yield. Even with the same dose of 16g, my shots sometimes come out at 35g and other times as high as 48g, even when nothing else has changed. It’s not a big deal for me, but it does require regular tweaking and patience. That said, I’m still happy with the purchase. For the price and convenience of an all-in-one machine, the Barista Touch delivers very good results—especially for home baristas like me who want quality without going fully professional.
