    • Great fire pit!
The fire pit is great but delivery of it did not go smoothly. It was delayed by over a week due to a damaged shipping label (caused by FedEx's failure to load the box in the truck correctly - they put the up arrows on the box for a reason). I contacted Shinerich group and their customer service was very responsive, contacting FedEx, correcting the damaged label, and letting me know when it would finally arrive. When it did arrive, the box was in shambles and I did not think it would be in tact. However, as I pulled out the pieces none were damaged - not one tile or glass bead was broken. Assembly was straightforward and I had a working fire put in no time. One tip - when installing the legs put the 3 screws per leg in loosely. Then attach the side panels and tighten their screws. Finally, go back and tighten the leg screws. This will allow all side panels to mate to the legs with no gaps and no issues with door closure. When you first turn on the tank valve, the spark ignitor will not light the flame on the first click. Simply allow the gas to flow on low for a few seconds to purge the air from the line and then turn it off. The pit will light right up when you turn on the valve for the second time. This is not needed for warm starts. Once operational my wife and I were quickly mesmerized by the flames dancing over the blue beads. My wife's parents liked it so much they want to get one. When shopping for the fire pit, I thought I would replace the beads with broken fire glass but the reflection of the flames over the beads produces a nice effect. Plus my wife and her friends take the large beads near the edge out of the pit to warm their hands. The only improvement I would make would be to anodize the aluminum bead tray black - the exposed edge stands out against the tile/brown powder coated frame. I may paint ours with high temp black paint. The tray does have drain holes so if the cover gets left off it won't fill with water. All's well that ends well and we are very satisfied with this purchase. ... show more

    • Nice fire pit with black fire glass, cover not included
The media could not be loaded. We bought this 32" fire pit on sale for $189. When we opened the box, we noticed that a lot of the packing inside was in pieces but all parts of the unit were fine. Assembly was easy and only needs 1 person. A 2nd person at the end is needed to turn unit upright. All tiles fit nicely, door opens/closes smoothly and correctly. Please check gas line connections for leaks before first use. Ours was a little loose and had a strong propane smell so had to go back and tighten connections. We like that the controls are inside the door out of view. Be careful opening the box with the fire glass. Use a knife to cut tape on all sides of the box. Carefully open this box as the glass is in a bag with one end unsealed. When I pulled the bag out from one end of the box, the glass poured out everywhere, made a big mess and glass chips and fine glass dust was spilled on the floor so you might want to put this box of glass on a plastic trash bag before opening to contain glass dust/bits. Once the glass was in place we were ready for the big reveal. It started right up BUT give it a few seconds for the gas to get through the gas line. The low setting was definitely enough for just the two of us but the high setting was a pretty high flame. I really like the 32" pit as it has a nice sized area around the pit to place drinks or small plates etc. A cover does not come with this unit but I knew this and ordered one the same day as the fire pit. We are extremely pleased with the overall look, the color of the tiles, and the black fire glass. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. Highly recommend this product. EDIT: We decided to add more glass so we bought 10lbs of 1/2" black mirrored pieces. These are bigger than what came with the fireplace but we mixed it with the 1/4" and we really love the look mixed together. ... show more

    • Beautiful Pit
I would love to give this a 5 star review but it shipped to us broken. Since it was disassembled (which I knew when ordering) I planned to put it together prior to giving it to my parents as a gift for Christmas. Imagine my upset on Christmas Eve, a few days after receiving the package, I opened the packaging after everyone else went to bed to discover that the thin ignitor wires were not carefully packaged and one of them had broken off and was floating around in the huge box. So I had to move heaven and earth to get a solder gun and fix the blasted thing to make it usable on the coldest Christmas Day we've had in years in order to surprise my parents. All this said, if you're prepared to do that level of repair/assembly, then this is the firepit for you. Its beautiful and works well (now). But if you're a screw it together and light it up type of girl, you may want to look elsewhere. ... show more

Nice quality for the price. Instructions were vague and hard to understand make sure you set aside a few hours to assemble.

    • More difficult to assemble than the company claims
This is a nice fire pit - not made for warmth though it puts out pretty good heat but you would still need a jacket or heavy sweater if a chilly night. The company states that it's easy to assemble but 3 of us spent all afternoon to assemble it! The directions in the booklet are not that clear & in very small print. The door didn't fit flush - we loosened screws & it still didn't fit. Customer service is excellent for this company. They sent out a new door but it didn't fit either. They said they would send out a leg as they thought that was the issue, but I never received it and never heard from them again. Oh well, I'll just live with it as is - doesn't affect the functioning. Beautiful blue smooth rocks in the center - like the wide tiles to set drinks on, etc. Nice fire pit for a pretty low price - fun to get together at night with friends & family. ... show more
