I am very pleased with this mat. It arrived in time and in excellent condition. It unrolled easily and had only a minimal curl at the end that had the tightest roll. I did not notice any smell or odor. I ordered this to help protect my floor and reduce some noise from my new treadmill. I easily unrolled it and maneuvered my Nordictrack onto it. As you can see from the photos, it is the perfect size. The treadmill fits both the width and the length of this mat. The mat feels like an appropriate thickness, and seems to have enough cushion without sacrificing durability. As I don't plan to use it for an exercise mat (although I certainly could), I expect that it will last a long time. For the price, I couldn't beat it. I like the material, it has a very solid feel (stronger than a yoga mat I have) but still has good cushion to it. It's probably strong enough to put equipment on, but I think excels for exercising on directly. I don't travel with it, but seems like it would roll/unroll well. Although it is for a treadmill, I bought this mat specifically for jumping rope. Previously I jumped on my concrete driveway, it was very rough on my jump rope and on my knees. With this mat I am able to do comfortably jump rope on my driveway, the backyard, the porch, just about anywhere. It is very high quality, not too heavy so I can carry it from place to place and store it when I am not using it. I needed a mat to protect my floor from my elliptical's feet and to stop it sliding around The mat is fairly thick and compressible between fingers, but it is surprisingly light. It's not rubber, despite the description... "Heavy Duty Thick Real Rubber Mat Exercise Equipment Floor Mat" After unrolling it, it lays pretty flat straight away. Just a slight lifting up near the end, which was in the center of the roll. It quickly settles down. The back is textured for grip and the upper surface has a smoother texture.
