I just returned from a trip to Belgium, I wanted a classic American style waffle and the Bakers Friend came through. I have not used any cooking sprays or anything, nothing sticks and no clean up of the plates necessary, yet. Preheat green light works true but the green ready light, not so much. As long as you understand what the steam is telling you it works very well. The round waffle option does not sit well with my ocd, there is not a border on them, if you are OK with that, they are circular.

I bought this waffle iron to augment our very old waffle maker, as I generally make large batches and simply freeze the rest. Belgian waffles are too thick for this treatment - squares make portioning so easy and toasting is a breeze for defrosting and warming. This waffle maker cooks the waffles in roughly half the time of our old appliance, although if you have a stiff batter such as a sourdough batter you may wish to thin out the batter a little or leave it in for an additional 30 seconds or so. Cleaning up is easy - we wipe down the plates once they have cooled with a moistened paper towel and that's it. If you happen to get overspill it is easily wiped off the casing. I like how easy it is to store compared to other types of waffle makers. I haven't used the shapes yet and I may never do so because this works exactly as I needed it to.

Absolutely love this waffle maker! Haven't fully figured out how to make stuffed waffles, still working on that. As long as you look at the directions it is super easy to use and you can use your own recipes or the booklet that comes with it. They are thicker, so if youre not planning on stuffing them you will want to remember it will take more waffle mix.

I LOVE this waffle maker! I have been on a 20 year quest to find the perfect waffle maker. Not to expensive, not too cheaply made. The full size waffle makers take 5+ minutes to make one waffle. For a family of five, thats annoying. 4 inc waffle makers in stores have a character on it. No thanks. This four inch waffle maker (that is devoid of children’s movie characters) not only cooks waffles quickly, but you can stuff them with any number of delicious ingredients sweet or savory! It feels very durable. And it cleans easily. I recommend. Would buy again. 10/10.

Started out perfect. Bake, flip, open. Easy to clean, easy to use...very effective and time saving. Great design and super light. I mean, it would have made a great gift, right? BUT, after about 5 or 6 uses, it just stopped heating up today. What the heck?!?
