Description

The BAKFlip MX4 was the first matte-finished, hard folding cover to market, becoming America’s 1 Selling Hard Folding Cover in just a few years. Simply put, the MX4 just looks better than other covers. Its sleek no-profile appearance allows you to maintain the appearance of your truck, while enabling you to securely stow cargo in the bed. The MX4’s pioneering, textured matte- finish adds a premium look and feel while also protecting against UV damage, annoying finger print marks, and scratches. MX4 has everything you expect from a premium cover. The engineers at BAK Industries fine-tuned even the smallest elements of the cover, down to adding cab corner caps and rail-end cap, to extending a matte-finish throughout the cover’s side rails, clamps, and elevator bolts. The MX4’s integrated buckle system and automatic latching mechanism allows you to drive with the cover partially or fully opened without covering the 3rd brake light. For 100% bed access, simply unlock the cover from either side via its pull latches and fold the cover all the way up against the cab. From there, you can prop the cover in place by tightening two rods into the underside of the panel. For enhanced durability, the MX4 also features pre-molded, shock-absorbent bumpers on either side of the panel, protecting the folded panels from hitting the cover during turbulent driving. Rain or shine, the MX4 provides confident cargo storage that’s complete with dual drain tubes to divert water away from the truck bed, as well as full perimeter seals to help protect against water intrusion. The bed cover is well made, strong, easy to use and fold up, and keeps water out of the bed! Install took about 30 minutes and is a great addition to the truck. The only issue I have is the driver side seal was torn out of the box.

This is an upgraded version of the exact same cover my truck has had since new. That one finally came apart after 14 years of service. This company has obviously made some improvements from that original version. Like the seal for the tailgate is no longer a lip seal but a door seal type, which allows you to close the gate with more ease. Great upgrade. The track drain hoses could have been made of different material, and they changed the attachment nuts and washers to hand crank. I think after settling and another tightening they should stay put. I bought one for my 2009 honda ridgeline when they first came out. I still have the truck and the bed cover. It’s tough. Then finish faded over time and a hail store put many dents in the aluminum but even with that, it’s held up. I now have a titan and am debating myself in buying one of these to put on that. I know I haven’t bought recently buy am an original customer, hope my opinion still counts. On my old one, i have always gotten annoyed with , heavy rain still gets trough. I hope thats corrected. If I go camping, i dont like my firearms getting wet unnecessarily. Anyway, If I get the new one for my titan, I’ll advise if this has been corrected. Thanks for reading and hope I’ve helped.
