Had it installed on a 2017 Tacoma Short Bed and after over a year it is still working perfectly. It does secure flat or in any middle position up to fully open at the Cab of the truck. IF you close it completely and lock your truck bed, it will keep your valuables or luggage secure and hidden perfectly. Its only flaw is it is not 100 percent water proof but does keep out 90%+ of all water. I live in the desert, so rain is few and far between and it has no impact at all. Installation was simple, just follow the video instructions found online. Total install time was about 45 Minutes. Looks good, feels good, is easy to install even though it takes some time to do so. The instructions are very easy to follow. It doesn’t waterproof the bed of the truck but definitely prevents a lot of water from entering in it. It is pretty secure when the gate is locked. The price is high but to me I think you get a good quality product for your money. I didn’t pay regular price as I waited many weeks until the price came down substantially. Very impressed with the Bakflip tonneau hard cover. It was an easy one person assembly. It was packed perfectly so no damages during shipment and arrived quick and works very well. It locks so you can put your valuable in the bed of the truck but if you need extra space its simple just open it up as much as needed. Its strong so you can also place items on it when closed not to worry about sagging. The low profile makes it very sleek looking and from the side you barely see it! The tonneau cover is very well made. I would have given it 5stars for ease of installation, if the instructions weren’t all over the place and a little difficult to follow. But once I got it figured out it was a piece of cake to install. Would definitely recommend the product. As far as durability, I will have to wait and see. Since I’ve only had it installed a week in a half. Love the ease of folding open and securing open when I need to load things. Great product for sure. ... show more

Bought this for my 2016 Tacoma Dual Cab OffRoad with 5' bed. Fairly easy self installation. There's a couple of YouTube videos to can watch that'll clear it up for you. I like that I can flip up the cover and secure it so I can haul stuff without having to pull the whole thing off. It has a fairly nice look to it after install and works well in rain. It has tubes that run down the front you need to snake thru the bottom of the bed, had to drill the holes out a bit to make them slightly bigger. Also in the videos. As far as material goes, I don't really think it's a tough guy's truck bed cover. It does what it advertises, covers ur bed, keeps the water out and gives convenient access, while looking kind of sleek. However, the main reason I purchased this one was that it was about half the price of a Rugged Black Diamondback cover, which is the real deal. If I were using my truck for rough daily work, I would have spent the extra. ... show more

I love this cover! Great design and quality product. The installation videos are also excellent. The problem was that after the usual swift delivery by amazon I started the install only to find that there were some missing pieces. I called immediately and was told that the parts would go out and I would get an email the next day. Six days later I called to see if the parts were on their way only to find out that “for some reason” they hadn’t gone out yet. I was assured that they would go out that afternoon. When I called the next day— “for some reason...”, and the promises doubled. When I called again 3 days later and heard “for some reason...”, I was quite angry. Thanks to Doreen and her manager who personally overnighted the parts within an hour of that last phone call. Hopefully this was an anomaly for Bak Industries. ... show more

This is the second time purchasing this cover, What can I say other that I love it and it's worth every penny !!!!! Keep in mind, Not every cover is going to be 100% waterproof. I'm more worried about thieves having access to my truck bed. What I like about this cover that it is a low profile truck bed cover and add a cleaner look to the truck. Since I had put this on before on my 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. It was a cinch to put on my 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. I also like how it folds all the way up and out of the way If you want to use the whole bed or fold it half way. I did not cut the holes in my truck bed for the drainage tube. I just laid it underneath the bed mat. You can't go wrong by buying this cover. It's sturdy and adds character to your vehicle. It does well in the car wash.
