We are extremely grateful for this excellent product. It made the “impossible” possible. We are a military family in the middle of a permanent change of station. With this car top carrier, we packed up our household goods and sent them on a truck to be delivered at our new duty station. Then we loaded our Kia Sorento and traveled from Oklahoma to Utah to pick up our college daughter from her freshman year at school. Inside the Rhino BagMate alone, we fit 1 Checked-bag-sized suitcase, 1 carry-on-sized suitcase, 2 XL duffel bags, 3 regular-sized duffel bags, 1 large overnight bag, 6 winter coats and 2 backpacks. In the Kia itself we then were able to fit a 🐶Saint Bernard with his giant e-collar and huge food bin, 3 teenagers, 2 adults, 5 additional personal bags/backpacks, & 4 pillows. We went from Utah to Arizona to visit Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. Then we drove to our new station in Florida. WITH all the stuff listed above including the dog. Military life. Crazy. But possible with the car top carrier! Other great features of the BagMate: Sturdy User-friendly Stays put Straps didn’t loosen over the 3,000 miles Protective mat worked great Velcro loops worked great to bind down extra strap length Sturdy zipper - no breakage for us Compatible with our 2017 Kia Sorento side rails (the side rails don’t have a pass-through slot). We just used the provided loops attached to the door and it worked like a charm. We did consider our surroundings at night depending on where we were. If we felt there was a higher-than-normal risk of thievery, we put the BagMate inside the vehicle overnight. It was a bit of a pain to do that extra step at night after a long day of travel, but we managed ok. Don’t hesitate to purchase! One thing we were hesitant about was detaching the rubber seal on the door to get the loop attached, but once we committed to it we didn’t have a problem. If we can figure out how to use it and drive that far without a problem, most people can! We’re not super experienced with gear like this but we figured it out. This BagMate made our trip possible!

Worked great. Everything stayed dry in snow and rain. Checked straps every stop and never had to retighten. Heard some strap creaks when it got windy or drove above 65 but everything held. Filled a plastic tote and a hard shell luggage and was easy to load/unload them into the carrier by myself. Friend used one too also w/o issue. Starting to see some tiny cracks in outer covering but not currently affecting use. Will keep using til it fails then buy again. Stores small and was way cheaper than shipping all the stuff I put in there.

This bag is heavy duty, and easy to install. The liner that goes between the bag and the roof is super helpful to avoid moving and scratching. The buckles are huge and easy to put together. The tension straps are easy to attach to the roof and come with these Velcro closures to keep all of the excess together so it doesn’t flap around in the wind. just drove our 500 miles for a trip at Christmas and it’s amazing. I would suggest measuring to make sure it fits your car. We have to put our sideways to get it between our roof rails.

My husband, 4 month old, dog and I traveled from Washington to California all the way to Virginia with this and we had no issues at all! It was able to hold so much stuff we needed, it rained and was super windy and it held on tight. Very easy to put up and take down. Definitely 10/10 recommend.

The media could not be loaded. I used your bag for 3.5 months. I waited to review it because I felt your bag deserved a fair and honest review. This is the SECOND puddle of water your bag let in. I decided to record it this time, especially after the zipper broke when I tried to zip it shut. It opened just fine, but when I tried to close it, all hell broke loose. This, plus the second puddle of water was enough to make me get out my camera.
