This is a "badass" motor. I used to have 350W ebike and this bike left that bike to dust. Awesome. The kit came in two shipments as the battery came in via Fedex Ground. They asked me to provide the feedback so here you go. 1. Installation: Pros: -There are lot of videos online showing how to disassemble your bike and install with the kit and it took me about 3hrs to complete the kit with brake sensors, throttle, 750C display, and Headlight. Everything seems to require no technical to install it. -Cons: -Not much technical detail how thing work and completely depend on people experiences online to learn about the kit. 2. Performance: -Pros: this bike is so powerful and i believe all the default setting get you about 75% of the power but you can google online to crank it up to 100% -Cons: too powerful so you have to be careful on the road. My stock setup allow me to run to ~25-28mph using PAS level 4 average including hills in Seattle. 3. Customer service: -Pros: They respond very fast, and promptly and promise to reimburse the shift level as I did not realize it is not included in the kit as standard. -Cons: still to be determined if they keep their promise. 8/25. Customer service very useful and the kept their promise. They helped with orders support, helped to exchange the unit when I found an issue detailed in the next section. Very good communication AA++++ 4. Technical support: -Pros: their after sale technical support seems to be knowledgeable with the kit but not the new display. I have an issue with the 750C display only show between 76%-85% when the charger fully charged the battery. They promise to look into it and get back... Update 8/25. They provided the shipping label to send the unit back, they found the unit need new firmware update so they replaced me with new unit. Installed it on my bike and everything seems to work great after that. Great service and Communication.. AAA++++ Cons: No Cons. Like the customer support as well.. Despite the minor technical issues, the kit delivers its promise for a powerful ebike. 4. Down tube battery vs rack battery I have heard lot of people saying the down tube provide better balance because all weight is low and center to the bike. I understand the explanation but my bike has small frame so the down tube will be in place of my water bottle so I am glad that i pick out the rack version of the battery for the convenient of the bottle water. ... show more

I've only had my kit installed a couple of weeks and we've had a run of bad weather but I've been able to get out on a couple of rides now that included some gravel mountain roads and single track trails and I am having a blast! I'm able to ride up hills that given my current physical fitness level I would not be doing otherwise. I'm getting used to the extra weight on the bike and it's becoming less of an issue for handling. Seller was super responsive and worked fast to get me a new kit after the shipper lost the first one. Every question or issues I've had they have been great to work with and typically responded to my messages in less than a day. I installed the motor kit on a Diamondback El Oso Uno and it went okay, there were some things to figure out. Now that it's all installed it's working great. I ordered the 100mm bottom bracket, and it works but because the bike supports up to a 5" tire the rear triangle (chain & seat stays) are wider than some bikes. This made it so I had to space the motor to the right (drive) side more than anticipated. The extra spacing made it so I can't use the second lock ring on the left side, it's holding but I'm checking it frequently, I'll probably add some loctite here soon once I'm confident in everything staying put. If I knew this before hand I would have ordered the 120mm bottom bracket. This also made it so I had to space the bolts on the left side that mound the motor to the mounting plate. Because of the bottom bracket spacing issue the chain line is less than optimal, but it works. I used an old reflector bracket mounted to the chainstay and a clamp to make a chain guide to make sure the chain runs onto the front chain ring in a straight line no matter what gear I'm in; it's only the lower gears (larger on back) that cause the bad angle. Power is amazing! I got the 52V 14.5 amph batter and am loving it. I see the motor hit 1300+ watts of power at times, it's amazing! This thing will pull me up some amazingly steep hills on throttle only. Range is still unknown, however, I've been on a couple of 12 mile rides and still had around 50V left, the computer estimates the range and it fluctuates a lot depending on how steep the road/trail and how much I pedal. I feel like I could get close to 30 miles on mostly flat terrain and about 20 miles on some serious hills. We'll see, I'll update once I know. I would definitely recommend this kit to anyone with some technical and mechanical know how, otherwise I'd suggest you get someone to do the install for you, there's some things that are not simply plug-n-play. ... show more

200 miles on this so far and it works well. This is used on a Fuji 29'er and with the stock rear cassette and a 44 tooth front, I'm able to get up to 62 kmh (while peddling like a demon). I have an 11 mile commute and it takes me around 25 minutes (with 2 stop lights that I manage to hit red every day). It does seem affected by the winter cold and is a bit more sluggish. Riding at max assist *using the throttle while peddling) I get about 16 miles out of a charge (52v 14 amp hours)... I'm positive this would be greatly extended if I eased off the throttle and just peddle assist, but what fun would that be ;) Love it and am very glad I bought it. You WILL need crank removal tools, a standard gear puller will just drive you crazy. I bought (and highly recommend) Oumers Bike Crank Extractor/Arm Remover and Bottom Bracket Remover with 16mm Spanner/Wrench. Professional Bicycle Repair Tool Kit. It is like $10 bucks on Amazon and made the whole process a cinch. I did have to drill a hole the battery mount as it didn't align well. The Shark battery (vertical frame tube) is designed to replace your water bottle holder, but as all frames are a bit different, expecting this to align perfectly was probably a bit foolish... it didn't. So I drilled a new one (not in my bike, in the battery mount) and all is well. ... show more
