The media could not be loaded. We purchased this swing set in early July 2023. We liked the climbing features and robe net swing along with the thicker lumber than many of the units we considered. We are incredibly impressed with the quality of the overall unit and the robustness of the hardware. The fasteners were appropriate for the design, were of reasonable quality with a generous amount of extras for the ones we lost or miss threaded in the build. The slide was fairly heavy duty, the swings are appropriate for larger kids and the climbing ropes, ladders and wall are well designed. The overall build took me about 30 hours to complete including unpacking, sorting, building and staining/sealing with only a small amount of help during the framing by my wife. I found the instructions easy to follow and did have any significant problems. My family is enjoying the swing set and I am certain it will last many years into the future. ... show more

If this fits your budget, your kids will love it! I did a lot of research before I purchased this one and the value for the money is unmatched. Five stars across the board!! First, the instructions were incredibly easy to follow step by step. Read the tips, those come in handy. My wife and I matched all the boards and lined them up. This saved so much time!! I would be working one step and she went a step ahead a got all the wood and hardware ready for the next step. We put this together in less than 10 hours. Incredibly sturdy, looks amazing and our little boy loved it when he saw it. It’s not huge so fit in our backyard perfectly. Seems very durable and solid. Took me like 3-4 days (4-5hrs a day) to complete. Did 70% of the work by myself. Definitely easier when my wife gave me a hand.

I was very skeptical about ordering from Amazon, as you know Amazon can be hit or miss on quality. Ordered came within 2 weeks. After opening package the wood felt very thin and lightweight, thought about returning it. But decided to build it and I am glad I did! Once all screwed and bolted together it really strengthens up a lot and is very sturdy , I’m 300lbs and I am able to walk up the steps and play on top just fine. Instructions were very good compared to others I have used. Plenty of screws, lots of extra hardware. Took me about 13 hours to assemble by myself including unboxing and laying all the hardware out. Assembly tips: Pay close attention to the pictures and read all instructions on the page, including the hints. Leave the pieces in the shipping box until instructions ask for it. I also recommend checking off each piece used from the packing list in each box. If hesitant about buying, don’t be, it’s worth it. ... show more

    • Reasons why you should not purchase a backyard discovery playground

We will never be buying a product from Backyard Discovery again. This experience has been an absolute disaster. We never got a tracking number and had to call multiple times to figure out where our playground was. They missed two delivery windows and our product has been sitting on our property a week despite paying for install which has been a whole separate problem. When the install team contacted us to schedule install, they asked if we wanted multiple add ons such as sealant, anchoring, etc and when we declined and asked for the install that we had paid for they cancelled the job and said it wasn’t worth their time to come out. Beyond that, we have had multiple people, including a supervisor call us back and they have not. The company as a whole is poorly managed. Fingers crossed once we get this playground up it isn’t horrible quality. Save yourself the headache and purchase from another company! ... show more

I wanted a playset for my grands that they wouldn't outgrow quickly. This set was a great choice. It's tall, sturdy and has so many different obstacles. I added an extra slide to the frame, it originally has only one slide. Beware there are a ton of wood pieces But the instructions are SPOT on and each piece is coded so there is no room for error. The last bit of completing the climbing rope was a bit complicated getting the steps at the exact length on each side so a few at the bottom aren't straight but we can fix that later. The project overall took about 9 hrs to complete. We spaced it out over the work week starting on monday about 6pm ending about 8:30 and it was complete by Thursday. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Picked this based on a recommendation from another person. The size and amenities are great but there was some splitting on the wood after securing screws all the way in. I’ll be interested to see how it holds up in the long run.
