Sturdy, easy to assemble.
Pattern Name: Cedar Pergola
Size: 12 ft x 10 ft
The negatives first: It took longer than expected to get the delivery scheduled. When the boxes arrived they were both banged up. Some of the boards had nicks in them (which I decided I could live with), but one of the four posts was badly damaged. The positives: The damaged post was replaced right a
way. The instructions were easy to follow. Extra parts is a bonus. My brother in law and I put it together in about three hours. It fits the space and the style matches my 1911 Craftsman house. I’d recommend one of these pergolas to anyone looking.

I’ll say not easy to assemble because I find two guys and spend $400 and 2 nights to assemble them. However, it is so beautiful and worth it. My wife loves it so much.

Surprisingly A Nice Pergola
Pattern Name: Cedar Pergola
Size: 10 ft x 10 ft
Received the day expected, and notified me that it would be early that day than originally scheduled. Instructions are easy. I sealed each piece with Thompson's water seal before assembly. Found one part broke from the factory (not shipping) and they replaced it without a problem. As you should expec
t, boxes were a bit rough from handling, and minor dents that I think are acceptable for a wood product being shipped in a large and heavy wood box. Still putting it up and expect that I will need some help. Still, am able to do a lot on my own.

Took me about 7 hours to put up, had my wife help with standing posts up. I would have given it five stars but engineering wise, the product was made and measured to save on shipping, not for strength and proper construction. We live in Wisconsin and get snow loads, which prevents anyone from putting
a rain guard top unless it’s removed before winter. Posts are a core wooden post with cedar 1x wrapped, will see how this weathers. The pergola itself was too low so I had to build post extensions to raise it a foot. All in all a good product

We had no problem putting this together other than on major piece breaking when we tried to screw it in. Looks like a weakness in the wood, see photo. Fortunately my husband was able to rip a replacement piece because obviously we couldn't ship the whole thing back to China. Other places, see picture
s, just frayed or peeled very very easily, so we had to use extreme caution

Product is great but they delivered twice with both times boxes were damaged. I think dor how much it cost should have more care in getting it to you undamaged.

Challenging assembly but worth it
Pattern Name: Cedar Pergola
Size: 14 ft x 10 ft
Assembly Time: Appox. 12 hours Assembler Skill Level: Intermediate The Pergola arrived in two very long boxes on pallets. I had to help the shipper unload the boxes and we dropped them curbside as the boxes were very heavy. I then unboxed the parts, took inventory, checked for damage and moved them t
o my work area. All parts were received and in good shape. A few pieces had minor blemishes and these were mostly able to be hidden. Before assembling I applied an additional coating of stain and sorted all of the pieces by part number. On the first day two of us started the assembly with a 3rd person that was our "parts guy", getting the parts we needed as we worked through the directions. We reached our stopping point after a few hours. It became evident that the hardware was not the best quality (not the worst either). We ended up stripping some of the bolts. Luckily the manufacturer provides amble extra hardware to get us through the first part of assembly. The bolts are barely long enough to join the pieces of wood so you need to ensure everything lines up. TIP: Don't try to force anything. If everything is lined up the bolt will thread rather easily. On the second day 4 people did the bulk of the assembly. Again the biggest challenge was getting everything lined up and square so the bolts would thread. There is NO extra length to the bolts so you must ensure everything is lined up and square (I can't stress this enough). Since we were not working on a completely level surface this proved difficult. We ended up purchasing threaded rods to help get things lined up so we could get some of the bolts to thread. We ended up stripping some more bolts and needed to use a tap and die to re-thread them as we ran out of spares. While we wished the bolts would be longer it became evident that this is probably done on purpose by the manufacture to ensure everything is square and assembled properly. Longer bolts could result in a less sturdy structure with noticeably misaligned parts in the end. So while you may be frustrated getting everything bolted, keep in mind that this is for your own good. I should note that no one helping with assembly were professional carpenters. I suspect a professional, with more experience and all of the proper tools to ensure everything is level and square would have an easier time with assembly. It took us most of the second day to complete the assembly. We mostly worked in shifts of two people as we were working in record heat and frequent breaks were needed. While it was challenging, the end result was a very sturdy and very attractive looking pergola. After assembly I applied caulk to some of the seams that I felt would be susceptible to sitting or freezing water. If I had to do it again I would consider hiring a professional carpenter but only one I trusted. I would not trust just anyone to assemble it correctly and not cut corners, especially at the rates Amazon is charging. It's been about a year (through a mild winter) and the pergola still looks like new. I suspect with proper care and maintenance it will last for many years. My 4 star rating is mostly due to the challenging and extensive assembly. If the manufacture could reduce the number of parts, provided slightly sturdier hardware and make assembly easier I would give it 5 stars plus.

The pergola looks very nice.
Pattern Name: Cedar Pergola
Size: 12 ft x 10 ft
The pergola was installed on the concrete patio and I like it very much. It adds to the look of my patio, and it is made of real wood. I have bought pergola shades for the hot days. Good purchase.

Easy Installation as Advertised
Pattern Name: Cedar Pergola
Size: 12 ft x 10 ft
The installation was as easy as advertised. My son and I assembled using the BILT app videos in just under 4 hours start to finish. Quality of the cedar was very good. Would recommend for anyone wanting a easy pergola setup at a very good price.

Great Pergola, but not the easiest instructions for assembly.
Pattern Name: Cedar Pergola

So, the final product is fantastic, but the instructions weren't the best. They have an app that you can use, which did help, but I still felt like it was kind of vague in parts.

Liked it so much, this is my second one!
Pattern Name: Cedar Pergola
Size: 14 ft x 10 ft
This takes about 3-4 hours to put up if you have two people. They look really great, so great that after I bought one a couple years ago, I bought one for my daughter and son in law. Note that after the first six months or so, go back and tighten all the screws. Highly recommend

Looks good but packaging is BAD
Pattern Name: Cedar Pergola
Size: 12 ft x 10 ft
It came in 2 cardboard boxes and the pieces were naked inside. Not even wrapped in plastic or bubble sheet or Styrofoam. So obviously boxes were hit in places in transit and many pieces were chipped. As it’s a bulk item, return is a hassle too. They definitely need to improve packaging as it’s not a
cheap product.
