The picture is clear and matched the description. Its a wallpaper consistency. It was folded and had creases, but all came totally out with a few minutes ironing the back side on very low heat. A nice item.

I'm very happy with the way the background looks, but the double-sticky back tape was nearly impossible to get the protective backing off of! It took WAY too long to do, and I was REALLY upset with how hard it was to get a corner to begin peeling off. What should have taken 2 minutes took half an hour of screaming F-bombs! Some better, easier to use adhesive tape would make this a lot nicer item! ... show more

I requested the AWERT 48x20 inches Aquarium Background to be used on a new 55-gallon aquarium tank in which I have both a Tiger and Albino Oscar. The length is perfect for my new tank although I have about an inch or more excess along the bottom edge (height), if I align the mat's top edge with the top of the tank. That is great as I can either leave it as is (with the excess) or I can trim it back to be flush. The weakness of this product comes from the "adhesion" aspect when mounting the background vinyl. The product provides a total of four (4) double-sided adhesion pads of about 1 inch by 1/2 inch in size, as if that will be enough to secure the entire 4-feet mat to the back of the aquarium securely. Secondly, literature indicates that you "can cut the pads to custom size". I think 12 of the pads should be included so that you can ensure that your vinyl is aligned properly every foot of length and height. Getting one side completely aligned correctly would make it child's play to end up with a very nicely and properly aligned background attached to the back of your aquarium. ... show more

I bought this because Petsmart sent a 24" x 48" roll of background in a 15" long box, and bent it to fit. It was ruined, and my store was out of it. So I ordered this. First, it is a different material than usual, more like a fabric. Because of that, the picture is not as crisp or colorful as the ones sold in pet stores, or even as the photo they show of it on this page. And second, and by far the worst, this thing is folded 8-10 times in the flat package. There are creases everywhere. Some areas have a double crease in them. The instructions say to iron the back side, with an iron on low, using a pressing cloth. This is taking FOREVER, and so far none of the creases are gone. Third, there are white spots on the background where the color is missing. Thankfully this was inexpensive. Lesson learned. When I saw the photo, it looked just like the ones in pet stores, so I never read the reviews. I should have. I would not recommend this product ... show more

This arrived in a small envelope, and it’s perfect! The directions state to lightly iron it if there are creases, which I did with a cloth over it, applied the square stickies and applied! Couldn’t have asked for anything better. So much less expensive than Petsmart.
