An auto-stop function automatically stops inflation when the preset air pressure is obtained. This helps prevent overfill. There are three speed settings: high, medium, and low. The inflator also features an air-release button, high visibility pressure gauge display with backlight, and an L.E.D. light to illuminate the work area. A 25-1/2” hose length provides better reach. The compact design allows for easy portability and convenient storage. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT® System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita® 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. About the only thing missing from this is someone to do the actual work. The default Schrader fitting might not last a couple of hundred on-and-offs, but there are after-market adapters. It's definitely better than lugging a pancake hither, tither, and yon.

Guage is very accurate. Like the 3 speed selection. Big and sturdy. I had bought a cheap inflator that had a quick connection fitting and it screwed right on to the makita hose. Typical makita high quality tool.

    • Almost Perfect
If you're like me and avoiding the Milwaukee Fan Boy nonsense and using the "still" top brand Makita, this inflater is a product you need to have in your arsenal. It's particularly nice to have for those who do a lot of towing, even on heavier duty trailers. It travels with us anytime we take out of town trips. It's reasonably fast (for what you'd expect), seems pretty accurate on the gauge, and is fairly quiet. It's a not a high pressure compressor, so don't go into thinking that it will perform that way. I've used it several times and it doesn't move the needle on battery life on the 5.0 AH batteries. Only thing is that I wish it had a trigger lock of some sort. Without it, you have to sit there squeezing the trigger the whole time it's running. Maybe not a big deal if you're adding a few PSI, but when you need a lot, that gets annoying. But any reasonably smart person can fashion up a workaround for that little problem. ... show more

The unit is a bit pricey, but inflates tires instantly. I've been using noisy cheaper inflators that requires 5 minutes or so to fill or top off a typical car tire. The Makita does the same job in about 30 seconds and creates a lot less noise.
