An auto-stop function automatically stops inflation when the preset air pressure is obtained. This helps prevent overfill. There are three speed settings: high, medium, and low. The inflator also features an air-release button, high visibility pressure gauge display with backlight, and an L.E.D. light to illuminate the work area. A 25-1/2” hose length provides better reach. The compact design allows for easy portability and convenient storage. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT® System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. This is fantastic. It is light weight and easy to walk around the car and top up[ the tire pressure. Set the desired pressure, pull in the trigger/button and hold until it stops pumping automatically - essentially an auto shut off. Makita reliability and construction consistency. Easy to use and accurate (I checked it against 2 different air pressure gauges). I’ve used it to air up my truck tires from 20 to 70 pounds. Did all four tires with one battery.

    • Power Enough, portable enough, Nozzle is not enough.
I chose this one for the power it had and the portability, the nozzle was disappointing and I did go with another one with a lock and release feature (which I highly recommend.) It does car and truck tires well. Used it on multiple tires on a sedan with no problem. Used it on one tire for a lifted truck with no Problem. The Guage doesn't feel very accurate, even when you set it to a certain psi it either overshoots or undershoots depending on what it feels like at the moment. It is a bit noisy. Can wake up the neighbours if they live within fifty feet of you. Battery life is great if you get a juicy 5.0xcs and above. ... show more

    • Fast and Powerful
The unit is a bit pricey, but inflates tires instantly. I've been using noisy cheaper inflators that requires 5 minutes or so to fill or top off a typical car tire. The Makita does the same job in about 30 seconds and creates a lot less noise.

    • Well Designed and Well Executed
About the only thing missing from this is someone to do the actual work. The default Schrader fitting might not last a couple of hundred on-and-offs, but there are after-market adapters. It's definitely better than lugging a pancake hither, tither, and yon.
