It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT® System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. This is fantastic. It is light weight and easy to walk around the car and top up[ the tire pressure. Set the desired pressure, pull in the trigger/button and hold until it stops pumping automatically - essentially an auto shut off. Love this thing. Nice and compact, doesn’t drain the battery and works well. Comes with adapters for balls and bike tires. Always keep it in the car especially when traveling.

    • Almost Perfect
If you're like me and avoiding the Milwaukee Fan Boy nonsense and using the "still" top brand Makita, this inflater is a product you need to have in your arsenal. It's particularly nice to have for those who do a lot of towing, even on heavier duty trailers. It travels with us anytime we take out of town trips. It's reasonably fast (for what you'd expect), seems pretty accurate on the gauge, and is fairly quiet. It's a not a high pressure compressor, so don't go into thinking that it will perform that way. I've used it several times and it doesn't move the needle on battery life on the 5.0 AH batteries. Only thing is that I wish it had a trigger lock of some sort. Without it, you have to sit there squeezing the trigger the whole time it's running. Maybe not a big deal if you're adding a few PSI, but when you need a lot, that gets annoying. But any reasonably smart person can fashion up a workaround for that little problem. ... show more

The unit is a bit pricey, but inflates tires instantly. I've been using noisy cheaper inflators that requires 5 minutes or so to fill or top off a typical car tire. The Makita does the same job in about 30 seconds and creates a lot less noise.

Solid unit, accurate and powerful easily fills trailer tires to 50 psi. Filled eight tires and still had plenty of battery left.

I got this for my son as a gift. His one tire was constantly losing air. Well I use it all the time and I am going to get one for me! I don’t have to haul my compressor out to the shed or my trailer. Works great top off my trailer tires at 50 psi with no trouble. Getting snow blower ready for a storm and easily filled tires in shed. Uses very little battery. Only negative is it doesn’t stop at desired psi. For example set at 32 psi it will fill pass 32 and won’t stop but once you let go of the trigger it will stop filling and won’t let you add more air. ... show more
