I like the clear and concise directions provided. The appearance and quality look good so far. Here is an update on how they are doing. 3 Pigeon Peas have sprouted. 2 Jacarandas have sprouted.

First, this is highly giftable. Before I even started mine, I sent one to my mom for Mother's Day. I told two friends, and they ordered as well. The presentation is excellent. The instructions are excellent. Even has a QR code to take you to online instructions. The little tools are excellent. The only thing missing is a spray bottle. You need to mist the soil and little plants as they come up. A spray bottle would have been a nice thing to include. I started soaking seeds on May 4. Planting was on May 5. It is critical that you use the included tweezers so that your skin oil doesn't transfer to the seeds. The kit includes 5 soil disks. 4 is more than enough so you might want to save a disk in case you need to retry. If not, disks are sold everywhere should you need to retry. For 5 disks, I needed 2 cups of water to get a nice moist soil that wasn't overly wet. In image #1 I show that I used plastic wrap to create a humid environment. I also kept the box out of direct sunlight. It is now May 11 and I have 2 plants of the 5 varieties. Each bag has 4 seeds planted so while the success so far is very low (2 of 20), I do have 2 plants started. (Image 2, 3, 4) Hopefully there will be more to grow. I am hoping for success for all 5 varieties. The top board on the box is not properly nailed and the little bit water and humidity have pulled the board from the box (image 5). I will fix this as the box is nice. Overall, I think this is an excellent gift. It is well thought out and designed to be a gift. I think I would be upset if, as others have reported, seeds didn't sprout. However, after only 6 days, I have 2 sprouts. I did get an email from the company asking me for a review and reminding me I had the kit for 2 weeks. That is annoying. I was not going to leave a review before I knew if anything grew. Especially not after reading the experiences of others. But my experience is positive. I have 2 plants after 6 days so far and I'm pretty excited to watch them grow up. 4 stars.     • One out of six sprouted and that one's going strong!
First, this has an excellent selection of seeds - a few flowering and green leaf varieties - so plant up your favorites. I put six seeds in, and one sprouted, and that one is going strong! That doesn't seem like a lot, but I've never had any luck getting trees to sprout. I'm super excited to try growing a bonzai tree! My only complaint is I would have liked an evergreen variety as well, but the flowering trees are so beautiful that I will try a few more to see how many I can take. The soil disks expand like mad, though - so be warned - when water hits them, they pretty much explode, but the seeds like it, and that's all that matters. I'll update when my tree gets bigger but WOW - not only is the packaging beautiful, but you have everything you need to be successful. Great product. ... show more

Packaged in a handsome wood box that can be reused. Comes with everything you need, specifically extra seeds! All tools, plain and clear instructions. Planted over Memorial Day weekend so seeds would get adequate sunlight. I'm so anxious to see them grow. The gardener in you will enjoy this!
