I haven't written many reviews but had to share my enthusiasm for this ebike. My son wanted this for his 11th birthday. He's about 5 ft, 100 lbs. I did a lot of research on these bikes. I looked at all the Razor models the Hiboy, Hurrican and Heybike. This is his first ebike so the Heybike was determined to be too fast (and expensive), but it does have the best reviews. The other models had mixed reviews and were lacking in quality/durability or battery life. This AVDLbike appears very well made. All the materials seem heavy duty. Installation is a breeze with youtube videos to guide you. The bike has the 3 speed options 6, 15, and 22 mph. Great for beginners. We just rode it for the first time today (myself included) and it's super fun. I'll update with any issues but can't recommend enough. The box arrived chewed up, but everything was fine inside. Battery arrived dead, but only took a few hours to charge up. ... show more

I bought this EV bike for my 8-year-old, and it has been a great purchase overall. The bike is the perfect size for a child, and it feels sturdy, well-made, and safe for younger riders. OK, so I am going to leave my original review, which is after my new review here. After I left the below review, I got a message from the company. Because we were messaging and not talking on the phone, it was WAY easier to understand each other. And their customer service become absolutely incredible. It was the kind of service we used to get decades ago that has since disappeared. There were apologies for lack of information in manuals. Plans for how to improve it in the future. Clear and fair explanations of why my original experience did not go well, and then a generous refund for all the time I had to put in for assembly. They were able to help me in getting the 2 year warranty set up, and they ensured my free warranty gift was on the way with a screen shot of the shipment details. While my initial experience was not great, they completely turned around my opinion by how much they actually care about their customers. They are responsive, and apologetic if any issues occur.... and they find a way to make it right. On a side note, we've started using the bike and it works great. Exactly what we needed and were looking for. 5 STARS! ===================================== ORIGINAL REVIEW - 3 STARS No idea if this was the right purchased or not. Got the ebike, so it did actually arrive. Assembling the parts that still need assembly is not CRAZY difficult, but the instructions are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. This company could literally invest a few hundred dollars to have someone put together way better instructions. The worst part was getting the rear shock absorbers assembled. The instructions for that were basically nonexistent. What could have been a 30 minute assembly, turned into 2 hours. Next issue is the battery instructions are terrible. I plugged it in to charge, and the LEDs on the battery never started lighting from empty to full. It turns out that they do not work while charging. You have to disconnect, power on, and then press the charge button to see how much is charged. This is explained in exactly 0 places. Finally, the warranty card that comes with the bike is useless. I called the company phone number, and I kid you not when I tell you I got some Chinese woman in her home making dinner. Literally. When I asked her if I was speaking with AVDL Bike, she said yes. I would have bet a million dollars I was being pranked. I wasn't. I asked her about registering the ebike for the 2 year warranty, and she proceeded to pretend I was getting signed up by asking me for the Amazon order number and literally nothing else. The warranty card also mentions getting a gift upon registering. The attempt to make that happen was comical. In the end, even if the bike is exactly as needed, I am a bit wary of this company. We went with this bike because my 10 year old was shorter and could not reach the ground on the more common bikes I see kids riding. This one was smaller but still maintained a similar look to the others. The photo in comparison is a TST R002 on the right hand side. It has bigger tires also. It leans on the kick stand but when it’s level it is way higher than this bike. I ordered the blue version. It arrived before the scheduled delivery date which was a big plus because it showed up the day of his birthday instead of three days after it. I put the bike together without any issues. When I opened the box the staples used to seal the cardboard cut into the seat. I sent pictures to the seller and they sent me a new seat quickly. He was able to use the bike while we waited for the replacement. The new seat was solid black with no blue writing but it will work all the same. I ordered an extra battery from the website. I cannot figure out how to get a hold of the owners of this company. We have only had the bike for 2 months and the charger no longer goes into the battery so the bike has become unusable. My son loves the bike but I would not recommend it because the battery already doesn't work and at $500 to only have a bike for 2 months is unacceptable. ... show more

What's the best way to get your ipad kid outside?! Who would've thought an electronic for outside would work! My daughter is just under 5 feet and about 90 lbs. She can reach the ground perfectly and loves this bike. Make sure you get them a helmet! She went very fast (approx 22 MPH) into some bushes and the helmet stopped the branch from scratching her head. I am 5 feet tall and about 125-130 lbs and I had so much fun! It goes very fast! My other half is about 5'11 and 190-200lbs. He also enjoyed it and says its comparable to the Lectric he has. He said putting it together was a pain in the butt but could've been worse. It wasn't bad for me... I just held the bike 😬. We were also told to not leave it plugged in overnight or when we aren't home because the charger may catch fire. We haven't noticed any issues but just thought I'd share. We absolutely love this bike and I might have to get my own. We have ridden it on gravel, asphalt, grass, dirt, and in the woods. Brakes work great too! If you plan to ride it hard, get a spare inertube when you buy it 😉 ... show more

This is a great e bike for the price. I got this for my 8 year old son that’s pretty tall for his age, about 4’ and long legged. He fits on this perfectly and has full control of it. He’s ridden with me on my e bike about 5 miles to the beach and has kept up no problem there and back. It’s been a few months and no problems have come up. Great battery life and moderate speed with some ability to go into the settings and control top speed and acceleration if needed. It goes about 22mph but I was able to lock it at 19mph with a slower rate of acceleration while he adjusts to e bikes vs his normal peddle bike. The fact that this had peddle assist is great in case that knucklehead forgets to charge it one day and it dies while we’re out riding. Overall, solid quality and easy to put together. I’ve recommended this to a few other families. ... show more
