I saw someone use a portable battery starter in a parking lot and decided to buy one. I didn’t have a brand name in mind, so I went off reviews and price. I called in-store locally and the price range was 75-125 for one of these. I paid around 50 for this, brand new, and I have used it 4 to 5 times in the past year. I have used it on my mid size SUV twice, a friend’s sedan, my mom’s sedan, and also let a friend borrow it for a highway trip. I never have a problem with charge strength, and the ability to charge phones is a great added safety feature. I can now buy a couple more now as gifts for people! Was a little concerned by some of the reviews on here, but have a battery that appears to be on it's last legs and knew I needed something I could take with me. Sure enough, this afternoon the dreaded "clicking" noise letting me know the alternator was ok but the battery wasn't happened. Plugged the clamps into the device, went back around to the driver seat, and it started right up. I do wish the cable from the battery to the clamps was a bit longer, and the lack of an obvious "boost" option worries me if the battery is too far gone, but it does what I need it to WHEN I need it to. For the price this is great! It says about 8 starts. I got a good 15 before I had to recharge the unit itself but that wasn’t from a completely dead battery so I do not recommend counting on it to start that money times. Very easy to use and the battery life for actually charging other devices is amazing!! Over all great product. Some people said it didn’t come with a carrying case or charger but mine came with both a very sturdy and heavy duty case with lots of room to keep other emergency tools in it and a nice and sturdy charger no charger box but nothing comes with the box anymore so I wasn’t really expecting it to. I had a dead battery, and I ordered the product in the overnight delivery. Amazon did a great job delivering it by the next day's morning. First problem: there is no charger included. I had to find one and charge the device. After fully charging the device (100%), I tried to start the car. No luck on that. After a few attempts (about 3 or 4) the spring jumped off from the red plug. EDIT: They have excellent after-sales. After asking for a refund, their representative (Isabelle) contacted me, we talked about my experience, and they (really) listened to my complaints. We came to the conclusion that I might have gotten a defective product and they sent me a new one. I didn't have a chance to test it, though, since I already got a new battery for my car. I used this to jump start my motorcycle. With my battery plugged into the charger all day, I tried starting it but it didn't start at all. I got this product, plugged it into the charger to fully charge it and then went out to the bike. Plugged in the terminals, and pushed the start button and... Immediately it fired up! This little box is amazing. Bought a big ole STANLEY jump box years ago that weighted 25/30 lbs that had all the basics of this little thing for triple the price and 20 times the weight. You should get this. It's a winner and a good value for the price.
