I'm surprised by the reviews and wonder if people have unrealistic expectations. -I've ordered 3 of these, returning one from eBay and one from Amazon. -This design is different. Different hardware, post diameter, locking mechanism, and paint. -Paint is durable texture bed liner style material, but similar to a 120grit sandpaper. -Noise is way less then my Yakima or Thule roof racks on other vehicles over the years. It's a roof rack, there will be a little noise. My friend has a Tesla rack and it's not any louder. You won't get less noise going OEM. -Don't rely on their install tool. Buy a cheap in/lb torque wrench from harbor freight for $15 and set it between 22-30in/lb. I set it to 22 and increased 2-3in/lb, if needed to align the locks. Once locked, a post goes up into the nut, keeping it from ever loosening. No need to over tighten. This is honestly really good quality and design IMO. I've built up a lot of cars, including a turbo Miata race car and twin locked Tacoma on 35s. Lots of experience fabricating, this rack is well worth the money. ... show more

    • very bad wind noise from the front right.

The product looks great. However, there is extremely bad wind noise coming from the front right where it connects to the car. I can have the radio up quite loud and it is still extremely noticeable. I don’t know if it’s defective or it’s just simply that loud.

Over all it’s OK for the price. My biggest issue is wind noise even at low speed. No lock came with the unit, so you will need yo purchase that separately.

    • Easy install, noisy at highway speed

The installation was easy and they look just like OEM crossbars I have seen. Seems fine under 40 mph but once you go over 50 and especially 60... it sounds like a window is left open. Even my 5 and 8 year olds were complaining about how loud they were.

These roof bars were surprisingly easy to install and even easy to remove if you want to when they are not in use. It’s actually a tool-free installation that I was hesitant about, but once installed, it’s securely in place without any modifications to the car. It looks good on top and is great for those roof top bags(?) that you can load up for a trip or boards and other large items. ... show more

    • Practical but noisy at high speed

To be honest, I've owned several roof bars for several cars, some OEM and some third party and all of them produced some sort of wind noise. Specially when you have cargo on them. If you look up Tesla's OEM roof bars you will see some complaints on noise... There are a few solutions to reduce the noise that you can find online. Including one from the seller that is suggesting buying a rubber strip (from a different brand) to apply on the bars to reduce noise https://www.amazon.com//dp/B01M31NA6E But been used with an EV it's just more audiable than in an ICE car... Nonetheless, the installation is easy. You need be careful not to damage the paint job but it comes with some protective sticker you can use or you can just use blue painters tape if it's not a permanent installation. Once installed it's secure and I didn't have issues getting my MTB around on the car ... show more
