Setup was easy for this aquarium auto feeder. We needed to set it up for a camping trip and didn't have anyone to come feed our fish. The LCD screen is easy to read and we were able to remove the clip so we could just stick it right on the tank cover. (Didn't want our snails escaping while we were gone!) We've had it working for almost a week and it seems to distribute the correct amount of food, even using tetra flake food. We have it set for feeding every 12 hours and so far it's worked like a charm. I'm happy with the price, as it's helped with peace of mind that the fish will be well-fed while we're gone. Works awesome for us! We put two tanks in a L shape on top of our 8 ft divider wall and my biggest worry was how we were gonna feed them daily without having an unsightly ladder hanging around, or having to worry about overfeeding or forgetting the fish between our opposite schedules. We have had two of these feeders feeding each of our tanks since April, with almost zero issue. I like that they are battery powered so we don't have to worry about placement or outlet space. I also like that you can adjust the amount of food dropped each time. We had some fish pass in one tank and A LOT of babies born in the other, so being able to properly adjust for that was nice. The only draw back we found is the evaporating water can still clump some of the flaky fish food together. Found some stuck to the barrel on the inside when I when to refill it. But haven't had that problem when we switched to pellets. We use them for daily use, so I think anyone with a similar out of reach tank set up or anyone going out of town for a long period will benefit from it. It's good for scheduling when I'll be away, and I like the adjustable door, but it varies too much with how much food comes out. Sometimes it's just right. Other times it's too much. And then occasionally none at all. A few times we tested it and it sent the food flying to the side to the floor before it finished rotating to the tank. ... show more

This is a terrible product! To begin with, it is large and is unattractive sitting on your aquarium. Secondly, the instruction manual is awful. The illustrations do not quite match what you are looking at. There is a sliding lever that can determine how much food is dispersed, however the lever sticks and is difficult to adjust. Finally, you CANNOT set this to feed your fish daily. You can set 1 feeding, but it is every other day which the manual does say, but I sure did not see this advertised, otherwise, I would not have bought it. Needless to say, after playing with this for days on end, I have decided to return this. I found a much simpler feeder that will actually work at PetSmart. ... show more

I've been using this for a couple months now. It works pretty well, but not for fish flakes. An issue you may run into is the lid getting stuck closed by flake crumbs. I used a rubber band to keep it slightly opened and it's just fine
