Didn’t trust the scoops for water as I didn’t want to worry they’d leak or a baby chick could get in and drown; so I replaced them with horizontal chicken water nipples by using the washers from the scoops that were large enough to cover the big square holes in the bin. I used the washers that came with the nipples on the other side to increase the chances on non-leakage. No leaks so far! Also my hens love the feeder placed beside them in the hutch so they can eat while setting on their eggs. No worrying about hen starving to death. They can also get a drink without leaving their eggs with the small waterer as well. Also great for not having to worry if a hen goes broody while I’m out of town. These will keep her and chicks watered and fed until I return. Very glad I purchased this item! ... show more

I just got these today and so far I have zero complaints. No water leaks, easy to assemble, and are very sturdy. I’m using them with my 6 week old chicks right now and they had no problems figuring out how to use them.

Amazing value. I've reloaded both the food and water without issues. Girls have easily access both even though they were a new design for them. Waterer does not work in NY winters because the stems freeze. However, it will be great in the summer. Girls are throwing around much less food. Easy to construct, follow pictures. These were a waste of my money. The feed just pours through the feeder holes and the watering cups only collect dust and dirt. I will say I was using a for my ducks.

After using this for a few months, I like that you can see through the plastic to see when to refill the feeder or the waterer. The feeder protects the feed from rain so that is very good. But the chickens reach in and pull out so much feed while they are eating that it wastes more than half of it and makes a horrible stinky mess. I stopped using it and went with a chicken feeder that works differently. The waterer works great after four months but because it has many cracks and crevices it tends to get black mold in places that are hard to clean. I am still using it for now and I clean it with a pipe cleaner and a toothbrush every week. But because it is rectangular on the bottom, I will not be able to set it on a water heater for the wintertime. I will need to get a round waterer very soon. It was easy to assemble. This lil rascal has made my farm soooo much easier for me to manage. Before I got this it was a lot of mayhem to get in the coop run and refill the Gurrl’s food trough. It was attracting field mice, which I cannot have. I’m also dealing with some mobility issues at present so getting in that run was painful, and I had to do it daily. Now I fill this gravity feeder up, re-hang it and don’t hafta refill it for 5 days or so, an enormous gift to me. I highly recommend this feeder! My Gurrls took to it right away— I was concerned they might not, but I worried for nuthin. I’d go so far as to say they appear to love it. I’m happy because no more scrunching my body, no mice, and NO feed waste! What’s not to love~ 😄 Go ‘head, get one— you won’t regret it. ... show more

This set is fantastic. We love the option to hang the feeder and waterer. The frosted set makes it easy to see when it’s time for refills. The set is easy to assemble and functions well. Customer service was very helpful and responsive several months after purchase when we needed a replacement part.

We are still using these feeders for the second year. The waterer doesn’t work at all in the winter due to not being insulated. But they are both entering their 2nd season.
