The door worked well at first, but after about 6 months it wouldn’t open or close. The motor seemed to lose power and wasn’t able to fully close or open the door.

UPDATE: - While I couldn't find the seller online, I did reach out through the Amazon message buyer portal. I told them the problem and they sent me a new one to replace the old one. It is working again and that makes me and my chickens happy. I hope it lasts longer than 6 months this time and the old solar panel was just a lemon. Customer service is 5 stars - chicken door when it works - 5 stars - but I put 4 stars for the hassle of having to get customer service involved and replacing the original item. OLD REVIEW: I bought at the end of July. I installed it in late August/Sept. Installed easily and worked great until December. Now it is not charging at all. I see my chickens out early morning in the run. This means it has been open all night long. I have 2 solar doors that have been working - this one is for the inside to let them into the run and a different one for letting them outside. The inside one, this one, has not been shutting right for a couple of weeks - while I have been gone!! Thankfully, no critters have gotten into the run and into the coop. Not happy this one is not working after only 5 months.

I have bought 2 of these doors about 7 months apart. Worked great at first even the rain. One day the first one stopped working. There were no trees nor anything to block solar panel. I bought another one because I like it. BUT when I found out there was to be a warranty on this door I emailed the company. Yeah NO RESPONSE that was 2 months ago still NOTHING!! So far so good with the new one. I asked what the company was going to do about this. Nothing.

This has been such a great product for us! Prior to this we tried another automatic door and had a ton of issues with it not closing. This one has been amazing for us! We don’t worry if we get home a little later now because they are closed in at the right time! Other doors for the price have been plastic and flimsy, this one is like metal! Great product!

It adjust to almost every coop. It's solar so it a plus and it works very well. It senses the chickens and it instantly opens. Very modern and affordable!

I’ve always wanted an automatic coop door for those mornings when I don’t feel like getting up early or in the summer when I’m ready for bed before the chickens are. I had this one sitting on the shelf for over nine months because once I opened it, my excitement sort of faded. It was nothing like I imagined — the door itself is pretty small compared to our current coop door, which would have required a lot of modifications to fit. My coop is extremely secure, and overall the unit felt flimsy; I was worried it wouldn’t hold up against a clever predator. The solar panel just wasn’t practical for where our coop is located, either. In the end, I just wasn’t confident enough in the quality to ask my husband to make all the modifications, so I ended up sticking with my old setup, staying up later in the summer and braving the cold in winter. It’s a neat idea, but sadly it didn’t work out for us.
