After going through half a dozen different iterations of automatic doors for all my various coops, I found this one and then bought three more. Of all the different brands I tried this is the only automatic door that always opens and closes when it's supposed to and doesn't require a degree in mechanical engineering to set up. All the other brands were pieces of cr@pp and broke inexplicably after working only marginally well, or they made no sense and I could not figure out how to even set them up. These doors have alleviated much anxiety and made my day-to-day life so.much easier and i appreciate them a lot. ... show more

    • The Price is right and it functions very well.

I like the product (I got the orange color as it is easier to see that the door is down). The good, is that the controls are on the door itself, not in the solar panel charging unit. If the solar unit fails, it can be replaced. It works with a remote too (finally, read on) The issue I had and communicated to sell on 10/20/24: "The remote doesn’t seem to work on the door. The door has been working great, set to T/T. The remote light comes on when the button is pressed but nothing happens with the door. I have tried really close and within 15 feet." On 10/24/24 they responded asking me to check the battery. The battery is an odd size (not a AA or AAA, which is more standard) but shows as fully charged on my tester. When the button is pressed, a light appears, indicating it is functioning. which I had done with my tester. A second message came about the battery. So again I responded that I already indicated that the battery responds, the door does not. After back-and-forth messaging, they finally responded with, “I'm so sorry, can you tell me if you held down the remote for 2-3 seconds? If the long press for 2-3 seconds does not work, we will send you a new remote control” YES! Finally a solution that works! Also, I noticed that I had not removed the protective plastic covering the display and this may have prevented clear communication to the receiver/remote. Better instructions would be helpful for new customers. ... show more

I really didn't expect this chicken door to work, or if it did, not for long (even bought a second one for back-up) But the darned thing works a treat! The one time I thought it had conked out, it just needed new batteries. It's functiond through some heat, a lot of rain, some snow and sub-zero weather. It opens on time, shuts on time and lets the chickens out even when they don't want to set foot outside (they're not fond of snow). Works far better than the much more expensive version that pulls the door up with a string... (chickens like to play with string...) ... show more

Door worked great for 3 months then fails. Won't open up anymore, fresh batteries, cleaned the slides. Just sits there and clicks. It went bad right about the time you are outside the return window. Will be ordering a different one

This has been a game changer for me! I've raised chickens for year and just purchased this before winter. It works great. Ice stopped it from opening automatically once, so I poured warm water over it. When it was dry, I sprayed a dry lubricant on it and haven't had any more issues since. And we've had lots more snow and ice! Batteries are still going strong! She's a keeper! ... show more
