This is my favorite electric coop door. I have bought other solar powered ones only to have problems. I put 2 batteries in and it hasn't failed me once. I have only replaced the batteries 1 time. I set the timer and it is very simple.

Worked nicely for a while, ordered this in August 2024 it is January 2025, roughly five months later and the buttons which operate the door aren’t very weather resistance. One of the buttons got a crack in it, and rain water entered through that crack and it no longer works. Since it’s been less than a year, I’m hoping the company will reach out and warranty this because there’s no damage it’s just weathering and it’s not even in the sun the full day. The company never reached out to me so I put the chicken door back in the original box and put it on a shelf in case they do bought two other doors NyPots Automatic Chicken Coop door solar. Which seems to be better designed in the panel. I hope it is going to resist damage from the sun better than the one I’m reviewing here. And will last more than 5 months. The new units also having a solar panel to keep the batteries charged is a nice and I think it was only about $10 more than this one. ... show more

This automatic chicken door is a game changer. We no longer have to go outside to get our chickens into their coop. The timer feature works great. The chicken door senses when the chickens are coming in and does not close on them, rather it will bounce back up. It was very easy to install and took less than 15 minutes. We shopped around for chicken doors and felt this was the best price for this particular door. This automatic door is not only durable, but it comes with a lifetime warranty. While we’ve only used it so far during warm months we anticipate it will work just as well during the cold months and if it doesn’t, we will rely on the warranty. Have had for about a month now. Works just fine so far. Make sure you put the batteries in correctly!! That helps. Doesn't really show how they go in! Had to work on that. LOL Took about an hour for my hubby and I to get the door down and get this put in. So not to hard. Had to cut the hole and everything. Chickens don't mind it at all. We do keep our eye on it though. Don't want anything getting to our egg producers! ... show more
