I have been looking and procrastinating on buying a self cleaning litter box for a while now. They’re all so expensive, then after months of searching I found this one. Their price was right, the reviews though not a lot were good, and I’m so happy I bought it. It’s super quiet my cats use it with no issues, I was worried about that. It isn’t this huge monstrosity taking up valuable living space like some of them are it’s just right in my opinion. It’s nice to look at too. I read up on transitioning cats to a self cleaning litter box and followed those guidelines by setting up the litter box with no litter in it for a few days to a week. Without plugging it in I sat it next to the litter box they were using and after a week (while they investigated it over and over, I added the litter from their old box to the new one. And removed the old one and crossed my fingers... My kitties did great with the change. It didn’t scare them, I set it to clean 6 minutes after they leave the box. They were very curious of course this whole time smelling it, getting inside, it was an easy transition. The clean up is quick and simple the app tells you when to remove the waste bag when full easy peasy. It does come with a solid odor bar but I put a charcoal odor absorbing pouch in the pocket of the waste bin for added odor elimination. I think adding the charcoal pouch helps a lot with reducing the odor to very slight when you are standing right next to it. The litter box is in my living area and there’s no smell when I come home and that right there is important not to get a face full of cat toilet when you walk in. Suffice to say I’m very happy with it. It’s easy to program. There’s an app you put on your phone and it’s 123 simple as could be. I would definitely buy this again.

The safety sensors work really well, too. My cat is naturally curious and likes to investigate whenever the machine starts cycling. As soon as he touches or steps near it, the machine stops immediately and then resumes shortly after he walks away. I also picked up a couple of helpful tips along the way. First, lightly applying a small amount of oil or a pet-safe silicone spray to the upper area where the waste is filtered can help prevent stickiness from feces dragging during the cleaning cycle (if a wetter feces). It’s a simple trick that helps keep the inside much cleaner. You may want to look up a quick video or guide online to see exactly where to apply it. Another great tip is placing a dryer sheet in the waste drawer where the used litter collects. It does an excellent job of eliminating odors. As long as you keep the litter level at the recommended fill line, everything works smoothly. Machine is sturdy and fits nicely in my hallway area. The unit is also easy to take apart and clean when needed. I only empty the waste drawer about once a week, and with the dryer sheet trick, odor hasn’t been an issue at all. I did buy a small step for my cat since the entrance sits a little higher off the ground. Sometimes he uses it and sometimes he jumps right in, so it wasn’t really necessary—it just gave me a little extra peace of mind. One feature I really like is that the app tracks his weight, and I’ve learned he weighs about 8.8 pounds. The app is decent overall. It notifies me when my cat uses the litter box, when the sensors are triggered, when a cleaning cycle has completed, and when the waste drawer needs to be emptied. I’ve experienced a few minor app issues, but they’ve been more of an inconvenience than a problem. The litter box itself has performed flawlessly. We even had a power outage, and it reconnected quickly once power and internet service were restored. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this purchase. I had originally been considering a model that cost over $400, but this one has exceeded my expectations and has worked wonderfully.

The cat box works as should. We have had this box for over a month. My husband liked the idea of not having to scoop every day. We have 2 siamese cats. They are NOT large cats. They both weigh 7lbs ( i know this because the cat box weighs them when they do their business) but, even for them this box is kinda a small fit. Make sure to buy good clumping litter or otherwise it will get stuck in the fork teeth (learned that the hard way) not all litters are =. With 2 cats the holding bin for the waste can't go any longer than 3 days and it's full. The box it's self is very quiet when it's "cleaning". You use an app to get all of the notifications. It tells you when your cat is using it, the wait time, and cleaning process. The app also let's you know when to dump the holding bin and if the box its self has an error. The set up was pretty self explanatory. The actual directions for putting the box together were easy to follow, in my opinion. Came with bin liners and a deodorant stick to keep things fresh. Oh, and it actually came with the plug (unlike most things nowadays where you only get the cord) All in all we are pretty happy with it. The 4 stars is just because of the size of the actual litter area.

I received this product on July 1st and finally set it up yesterday (July 11th), and could not be more happy. I am very pleased. I chose this open top model because of a review I saw about a cat peeing high...which is definitely the situation with our older cat. Also a friend had this same model and was pleased with it, so I looked into this one in particular. Our older cat kicks litter out and having issues previously with her not liking the fully enclosed kind of litter box, I was nervous about this one. We also had a situation several years ago, where my husband and I had gone away for a few days (not the first time and not the last), but on this particular time, when we got back she was peeing and pooping everywhere but the litter box. I can't recall if this was the we tried several different boxes, regardless, the problem still persisted. I think it was after I did a major deep clean of the bathroom (wall wiping, scrubbing floor on hands and knees rather than swiffer mop etc.) and the litterbox and mat it sits on. I have continued to do this several times a year in addition to regular cleaning with a swiffer mop etc. We have not had an issue again with her not using the litterbox. We settled on an open top with high walls box and it seemed to help. We also used a plastic tote lid as a shield behind the litter box to prevent scatter falling down behind the trim. One of these days I would like to remove the base trim to clean back there. Anyway, I also have this mat that I would put under the litter box and have it stick out to catch litter tracks. When I would was it, I always found damp spots and could see urine crystals (smell urine on it too). I say this because I never noticed any urine running down the sides, especially outside the box. But some how it would happen. I haven't had this self cleaning one long enough to detect urine on the mat and I had just cleaned it, before setting up the new box. I have not noticed any urine on the new box yet either. So I set this box up after doing a deep clean of the bathroom. In the picture you can see how I have the box set up which is opposite of where the old box was. The old litter box was where the food is now. This bathroom only has one outlet, but once my extension cord and cable channeling arrives I will rearrange the location. After setting it up last night, where I had it initially in front of the toilet oriented towards the toilet I ended up moving it. I set it up and put fresh litter in and then placed the older cat in the box. The old box I just put outside the bathroom for time being, but deliberately left it dirty. Before I could set up the app and get it online, we had to leave for a party. When we got back, I saw that it had been used and pretty sure it was her that used it, so I was very very pleased. It was at this time that I ended up moving/orienting it to what you see in the picture. I also set up the app. Now for the other cat. We got a new little rescue kitten on June 21st. Today marks 3 weeks and we think he is roughly 8 to 9 weeks old. On June 25th, when we took him to vet he weighed in at about 1.6 pounds. He loves using the litter box. Any litter box...we are having issues with the older cat accepting him, and so we set up a litter box in the bathroom off our bedroom and also had his food up there until yesterday. This bathroom is in our basement and it has taken him awhile to venture down here on his own, but now he does. He came down here and saw her litter box and used it immediately. With her I would clean out her box every other day. This little piglet of a kitten, I am cleaning 3 times a day! That is when I decided it was time for a self cleaning letterbox. I was a little nervous about his weight and I also got a step because it seemed high. I didn't plan on him using the new box right away, but there was no stopping him. He climbed right in (didn't even use the step) and did his business. Also after moving it and then setting up the app he must have used it because it clocked his weight at just over 2 pounds. Last night it was used several times by both an 8 lb and a 2lb cat(s). I couldn't be more happy and now I am off to clean out and clean for long term storage some other litter boxes! :)

Well put together. Very durable. Easy to put together. This litter box has been so great. My cats adjusted to using it seamlessly. We have two cats that share it and it has had no issues. It empties the soiled/pooped litter pretty quickly after a cat has used it. The smell has been night and day. One of my cats is very stinky when she poops and would make the whole house stink. With this litter box we do not have that problem anymore. There is only the smell right after she uses it and since the machine cleans itself quickly we do not have to worry about the smell lasting. We change the bag (where the poop drops) about once a week, but we could definitely go longer if needed. We have been very happy with our purchase of this litter box machine.

I've been using the Hazrela Automatic Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box for a little over a month now, and I'm extremely impressed. Setup was straightforward, and it's done exactly what it's supposed to do from day one. The automatic cleaning works reliably, keeps odors under control, and has made maintaining the litter box dramatically easier. The open-top design was also an easy transition for my cats, which was something I was initially concerned about. One thing I do want to mention is that I've only owned it for a little over a month, so I can't speak to its long-term durability just yet. That said, based on how consistently and smoothly it's performed so far, I honestly don't have any concerns about its reliability. It feels well-built, operates quietly, and hasn't given me a single issue. If it continues performing the way it has over this first month, I'll consider it one of the best pet-related purchases I've made. Update: One of the cats is peeing in the wrong direction. This frequently leaves urine on the floor. Cleaning the litter tray today, it was filled with urine so somehow what urine doesn’t end up in the box, or on the floor, is going into the tray where the used litter is swept. This is a serious design flaw. If anyone from the company actually reads these comments, I think it could be remedied with a shield of some kind that could just pop in along the front edge of the box. Otherwise, I do like the litter box. It is the most used in the house, but I’m also getting tired of mopping the floor. Original review: There’s no customer support for this product whatsoever. Was having issues with the box pausing every system (clean, empty, reset). I couldn’t find a manual or any online assistance. I emailed customer support through Amazon and got a response that was totally geared to sales / returns and not troubleshooting an issue with the machine. Thankfully, ChatGPT had some ideas and I was able to solve the issue on my own. (Dirty sensors.) Simple issue but made unnecessarily complicated by the lack of customer support. Otherwise, I like the box. For the money it’s pretty good.

How did I not know this existed before this summer? Such a game changer! I've been a cat Mom for over 20 years and this litter box is amazing! My cat always has fresh litter, which he appreciates. I love the app, knowing I can track his usage, his weight, and whether or not the litter needs refreshing or emptying. I was able to go on a long weekend vacation and able to keep track of my cat's usage and know he was using a clean litter box. So fantastic! Easy to put together, easy app setup, and used my exisiting clumping litter. I do recommend that you start the new automatic litter box with some of the previously soiled litter, so your cat will recognize their scent and take to the new system easier.
